In todays metro it said there was a statement on ticketmasters website saying more tickets may (read will) go on sale in the future.

Can't find it on the site, can't be to bothered looking since it is a certainty anyway.

All I would want to find it for is to shut up the people calling others idiots for saying it is not sold out.

Tickets went on sale at 8am on Friday morning, and the highest demand ever was witnessed for OXEGEN as day tickets, weekend tickets and weekend tickets with camping sold out completely in UNDER 12 hours. Music fans have once again underlined today that OXEGEN which takes place in Punchestown on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July 2006 (subject to licence) is the hottest ticket in Ireland.

This is taken directly from the oxegen website, if they do release more tickets they are a shower of brazen liars and should be punished!

They said it was sold out on numerous occasions last year, i think there were more than 3 re-released batches varying each time between day, 2day and camping tickets

Just saw this on their website too
To be in with a chance to win 2 Weekend Camping tickets for OXEGEN 2006 follow the instructions below.

Question: Which act was a main stage headliner from last years oxegen festival?

    Possible Answers:
    A: Greenday
    B: James Brown
    C: REM

Instructions: Text oxegen followed by A, B or C to
57800(Cost €2.50 per entry). If you are a resident of the ROI or 81108(Cost £1.50 per entry) if you are a resident of Northern Ireland

Please note this competition is only open to residents of The Republic Of Ireland and Northern Ireland

2.50 for entry. That is daylight robbery, esp. as it's apparently sold out, and poor bastids who didn't get tix will be desperate. I reckon there must be some come back against these shower of jerks if they're proven to be lying and release more tix.

Considering it took at LEAST 24hrs to sell out not including the presales etc this statement is already a brazen lie.

    Line up
    SATURDAY 8 JULY
    The Strokes(dont really know them)
    Editors (never heard of them)
    Eels (never heard of them)
The Magic Numbers(never heard of them)
The Go! Team (never heard of them)
Hard Fi (never heard of them)

    SUNDAY 9 JULY
    Bellx1 (never heard)
    Pharrell Williams (dont really know)
Sigur Ros (never heard of them)
Manu Chao (never heard of them)
    Damian Marley (never heard of)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah(never heard of)
    The Kooks (never heard of)
    Errol Alkan (never heard of)

I do indeed believe there's no point in going if you've never heard of that many bands. Are you sure you don't have friends who love listening to and talking about Bellx1, the indigenous Radiohead. If you've managed not to ever hear of the Eels, Editors, Sigur Ros, Magic Numbers and Hard-fi I would imagine it's possible you've never watched MTV(2) or listened to the radio, or had conversations with friends in the last year. :D

I've never hear of any of them except bellx1 and that was only because that terrible new album was forced on me. I'm guessing the real reason I haven;t heard of these bands is because i'm not a teenage girl with no taste in music. But if i'm wrong about this I apologise.

Oh so hilariously wrong. Perhaps if you explain what sort of music you do listen to you may help people get an idea of why you dont know these bands.

Seriously it wouldnt hurt you to spend more than 3 seconds writing your reply.

Anyway I know several people who love Pink Floyd who enjoy Sigur Ros and The Eels and both bands are pretty well established. These people are all 25+ males btw.

So urm I dont know... try listen to something new... you might be surprised... or dont Im not overly sure what Im trying to do here. Just to say not everything associated with Oxegen is one hit wonder, flavour of the month bands I guess.

Bell x1 aren't new. Well I suppose it depends on what you consider new but they've been around for a good few years.

The line up for oxegen isnt bad. There are a good few bands playin that I'd like to see. Alot I would have never really considered but I'd say they'd still be good. I've found out from goin to a few festivals that a band can sound great when your listenin to them at home but mightn't be all that great when performing at festivals. So its a bit of a wait n see kinda thing.

Either way Oxegen can't really be "bad" unless half the bands pull out last minute and then you get lost and its raining n then you car is robbed and someone pee's in your tent and tehn sets it on fire... you see where I'm goin with this. Anyway it's what you make of it really. It should be class.

So I shouldn't worry about being able to get a ticket and buy off a tout?

Alot of people think there'll be more tickets goin on sale. I wouldn't be totally shocked if that did happen but either way I wouldnt buy off a tout there will be people who wont be able to go and will want to sell there ticket at face value. I did the year before last on this very forum so just keep an eye out. :)

I'm not too sure that my opinions correlate with yours 'buddy', the fact is that scenario-wise Oxegen tickets, today have a worth, that is higher than, that of prevous times, as, I in my beliefs think, that, due, two the increase in Britainers coming over due to the extended MTV coverage recieved O'eeertherre that, far more people over here are ticketless now., It really sucks ...(.)

The tickets have been on sale since last august(pre-sale release) then again at christmas and presale for a week before the friday of the official sale, so stop moaning about not getting a ticket, if you really wanted one you would have one!:D

And Glastonbury being a non-runner this year there's approx 120,000 people with time on their hands...

That is one of the main reasons! MTV ruin bloody everything. To quote Jack Black:" You could once stick it to the man by a littlke something called rock n' roll, oh but no, the MAN had to go ruin that by inventing a little something called MTV" Or something like that
