Kernel, how did I miss this thread! Sorry to hear about Ringo man. I lost a dog too when I was a kid. :(

Anyway, the thing I've lost that I miss the most is my childhood innocence. Wasn't it so cool being 8 or 9 years of age and not having a care in the world? The 2 months off school for summer hols seemed like they lasted forever! Ah bliss.

EUR 50- I suppose that is the most expensive thing I've ever lost
but if you are talking about opportunity cost then I suppose not buying an SSIA when they were available is my biggest loss.

    Hmm..
When I was about 5, we had this cool dog called Sandy. Anyway, long story short, he got hit by a car (and subsequently died). His squeels brought the parents running because they though it was me who got hit.
They looked a bit disappointed when they saw I was ok.

    Other than that:
The coolest dog I ever had - Holly, sheepdog who was a stray and turned up on the doorstep and I convinced the 'rents to let her stay (or I'd torch the house or something). Got hit by another car, had a nasty habit of running onto the road ahead of cars.
    The will to not smoke.
Pack of smokes somewhere in Kilkenny.
A backup of all the music I had on a computer before the HDD failed.
    Far Cry.
My soul (lost it in a game of blackjack on a train).
