Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The fact I couldn't actually see you kind of spoiled the effect... but what can I do?

  • Registered Users Posts: 655 ✭✭✭smiley_knees

Say you love me more than Daithi...

She'll never be as faithful to you as I will Bill...*big eyes in a romantic way*

    Now that's just frightening...
Let's just say you each love Bill more than the other, for the sake of all involved. Except Bill, who is quite possibly enjoying the attention. Especially in Aonghus's thread...

I love Bill ten thousand times more than you ever could! *stops, stares vaguely into distance, wondering you exactly Bill is- I just have to be better than Grainne* So anyway....back onto the subject...Aonghus then, ay?

Well if it comes down to who I'drather have on my side in a bar fight, well... that doesn't help me decide.

Okay. Gonna have to go with good old-fashioned physical attraction here... and I'm not sure I couldn't handle someone as devoted as Daithi...

    Looking good for you G...

or is it? I don't know, I'm tired I was acting and I had fun hiding from bouncers in a crowded bar (Long hair looks pretty different tied up than it does down, so that helped).

Leave me alone, it's past my bedtime. Hooray for all Aonghuses, ever.

*feels loved* Yay! Of course you love me better! I mean, if you think about it, if you chose him you'd end up living in Monaghan... You're way too brilliant for that...:) :):) I love Bill!!!
And we totally have things in common, like, OMG, long hair!!! Though it doesn't matter if I change my hair, people still recognise me.... For other things...

I have the hair too! And I'm also a red! But the Monoghan thing is a fair point... Or I could move in with Bill! Or, because we both have long red hair, you and I could forget about Bill and elope together!

  • Registered Users Posts: 655 ✭✭✭smiley_knees

    *clings to Bill*
Nah, I'm loyal to the cause... Thanks all the same!
Dude, you do realise I just won this battle:rolleyes:

I bet Aonghus loves the direction his thread has taken (for thick people, I mean the "who loves Bill more" discussion).

    I know I do.

Hey! That's no way to treat your master!! (direct yourself towards my thread for explaination) You are so my bitch Guy...
Bill! I love Bill! More than any silly Monaghan boy...*grumble grumble* BTW, who is Love???

For a start it's "prAy-tell" and secondly I was going to rant about the fact that I'M NOT FROM MONAGHAN!

  • Registered Users Posts: 655 ✭✭✭smiley_knees

Yeah, but you live there. That's even worse...
I mean, you weren't born there, so you don't have to live there.
Ergo, you chose to live in Monaghan, which is ten times worse.. At least if you're born there you have an excuse

    I are Love.

*edits* Ok, that didn't make things much clearer. I'm Sophia. I live in Kildare. I wore devil horns a lot, did Zoology this year? Gave out lollipops at the Oct.1st reunion? I know your name is Gráinne but I don;t think I know who you are, do you have glasses and red hair?

no, no no no no no.

    NO.

We are not going to lower ourselves to the level of laundry.

I mean, really, we could have some stimulating educational debate. Or at the very least, denigrate Aonghus. That is what the thread is for...

    Isn't it?!

Haven't been there in ages, seem to be spending more time in Dublin than in Newbridge lately tbh

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 67 ✭✭Desmoulins

Aww...Newbridge. G has property to sell there. At least, thats what I assume- why else would *anyone* be so damned enthusiastic about the 'theatre, vast range of commercial outlets, potential for development, and access to transport links'? ...direct quote.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 270 ✭✭LordCran

I spend a lot of time in Dublin. Mainly because I live there.
There is nothing, nay, very little wrong with Monaghan, and it can claim Kavanagh, perhaps my favourite poet ever (excepting good ol' Bob and Jim Morrison, whose grave I didn't get to).
And I heart Bill! I are teh Bill-hearter!
OK, I actually just want to beat the two of ye.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Mr.D.Leprachaun

Kavanagh's not soemthing I'd be proud of were I Monaghonian. He was an obnoxious drunk who hated the place as much as I do.

I know I sound like a salesperson for Newbridge, but it's just such a cool place. i mean, they have an O2 shop and an electrical appliance store with lamp shades in the shape of airplanes... how cool is that!!! And the location! Boy, you won't find a better place to raise the young uns in all of the county!!!
    G *hearts* Newbridge!
Oh, and also aonghus. Speaking of, where is that boy?

What about John Donne? He was brilliant.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Meh. I browsed over his stuff, nothing particularily impressive tbh.

He's cool, but I prefer Bishop. Kavanagh's not great. Plath rocks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Ugh, Plath. I can understand why she killed herself, her poems'd almost drive me to suicide.

Aww, not those two. Hate them both.

Elm isnt so bad, I guess.

And what of Robert Frost? Or, to be a lot more recent, Neil Hannon? He's from Derry, and he's great. For more: www.thedivinecomedy.com.

I'm pretty fond of T.S. Eliot, but poetry isn't really my thing. Prose and streamofconsciousness and assocciation prose are much more to my tastes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock is pretty streamofconsciousnessesque

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,858 ✭✭✭Undergod

Is that Eliot? Some of his stuff is kinda like that, or anyway kindof like what I'm trying to describe, not necessarily the same thing as whatI'm actually saying.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

    Yes.

"Let us go now you and I,
While the evening is stretched out across the sky
Like a patient etherised upon a table"

"In the halls the women come and go
    Speaking of Michelangelo"

    It's a 3 page sequence of anticlimaxes. <3!
