Shouldn't it be:

Mike's hat,
Niamh's gloves,
the boy's mother [one boy],
the woman's skirt,
the womens' skirts,
the peoples' party,
the childrens' games,
the men's moustaches,
the boys' mother [two or more boys - see, it's after the "s" there?]?

Not that it matters, seeing as "women", "people" and "children" are plural nouns. It would be more important with:

The boys' mother,
The brothers' house,
The dog's kennel.

Mr.Nice Guy would like to post in the third person but Mr.Nice Guy fears it wouldn't be too clever at this late stage.

Goodshape suggests the mother of all thrid-person talking games... "Simon Says". But we'll need to find a Simon first.
