I think the program is sound enough. You will always get great results with any sound program while putting the time and effort in.

Those photos tend to exaggerate things - probably taken by a professional photographer, lighting, fake tan, etc. I think a guy here tried it. I havent tried it myself but Im quite sure you will get great results from it. The book over-emphasises the use of certain supplements, and remember that these are not essential for great results so dont fall into the trap of spending a fortune on them

Yep. Just to show what can be achieved with different light, pose etc. here are some "before" and "after" pics taken by a poster to the misc.fitness.weights newsgroup. These pics were taken within minutes of each other :)

Hahahaha. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen. It has to be bulls**t. Otherwise that guy can do a 'pregnant belly' very convincingly.

I agree that it is hillarious but it isn't bulls*it at all. It is well known that a dramatic "transformation" can be achieved through use of pose, lighting, posture etc. It shows that the "before" and "after" photos published in mags like Men's Health are actually a bit of a con. Not to say that the guys who have their photo taken haven't made progress, but that their progress may not be as dramatic as the photos suggest.

Yeh I'm gonna have a look at it and see how I go, the eating part of it is very good and makes sense, and the programmes appeal to me because of the time emphasis. 45 mins of lifting weights as opposed to the hour and a half I see a lot of people doing etc,

    hey,

Body for life was the first book on phyisque development I ever read! It started me off the fitness industry. The book has some great motivational stories, and has some good training advice too. I still use a variation of the 20 min Aerobics program containined in the book. That said it is not reveloutionary by any means. The weightlifting program is just a pyramid series of reps, and the aerobics are basic interval training. The best part of the BfL programe is the motiovation - the chance to win a lot of money pushes people and gets them to stick with a program longer than they otherwise would.

The other draw back is that it endorses the heavy and expensive use of their supplememnts, and to qualify for the competition you have to have proof of purchase for I believe 500 usd worth of product? I'm open to correction.

Still its a good start. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Oh an one other thing EAS, the supplemement chain now have a dedicated Body For Life Franchise and Support group up and running. You might want to talk to them and meet others who are doing the challenge. They may also have a smaller Irish version of that challenge that you cna enter.

    Cheers lads,

I'm gonna get going on it and just take some protein as I have recurrent hypoglycaemia and burn fat very quickly and find it hard to put on weight,

But in fairness thats cos I often skip breakfast and eat erratically etc,
