im starting the gym and want to start in crunch dun laoghaire!

it is 517(euro)for a student for a year, and i can afford it but is it worth it!
i don't know anyone that goes there and i was wondering if anyone who does go there can tell me if it is a good gym!

i have had a look and have been shown around the gym,but i don't want to pay that much money and find that it was a waste of money!

im looking to lose weight, would this gym be worth the money?

    thanks

    Hey Zap,

Crunch Dun L has a few reviews on this forum all of which I think are bad. I joined myself ignoring these reviews and I am NOT sorry I did. I love this gym. For the people who are interested in body building/heavy weight lifting, this gym is definitly not for you as the weights room only has one free bench, one chest/bar bench and one smith machine for crunch's etc. THere are further, lighter weights upstairs and a few bars with fixed weights. For overall fitness this gym is great, there are loads of machines, I never ever find myself waiting for anything more than a few mins. I dont talk to anyone when Im in there but most of the people seem frindly. The staff are very friendly and the fitness instructors will help in anyway they can(although Im not sure how qualified they are.)

There are a few problems there that are easy to get annoyed about, the air conditioning was broken for months coming on spoatically, and last week it stopped working all together, the windows completley fogged up all through the gym and the weights I was lifting became almost too wet to hold, everyone looked like they had been swimming fully clothed. This has now been fixed. Without warning two weeks ago they closed the weights room, I was told it would be open the next day (the floor was being repaired) it wasnt open for 4 days, and they didnt have the forsight to move the weights upstairs so everyone was stuck on the small weights.

The shower/chage rooms are incredible, its like a hotel, and makes for a great part of your workout. The sauna/steam rooms are very nicley done. The pool looks nice but I havent used it yet. The cardio equipment (readmills, stairmasters etc) and plentyful and all have plasma tvs on them. If you are interested, go down and ask for a tour, although they might have a guy give you the tour I would recomend the tour to every guy out there as you get the most beautiful women walking you, although just trying to get your money it still feels pretty good!

Overall I would give this gym 4 out of 5
