The "scariest video ever" thread reminded me of a video I rented a good few years back faces of death. Just wondering if anyone else had seen it. Also rented one in the States called "banned from tv". I hate the feeling these video's leave you with.

I've never seen it, nor do i ever want to see it. The very concept is vile and abhorrent to me.

Faces of death is 90% fakes, the rest are just news programs

reminds me of some stuff on ogrish.com -warning, ogrish.com contains some very disturbing material. i've stopped visiting.

its weird how people are attracted to watching this kind of stuff though, morbid curiosity i suppose. would love to know how many people actually go to ogrish.com after seeing this post. curiosity is a powerful thing.

I'm with rubadub, never gone to those sites or searched the internet for the Iraqi or Chechen decapitation videos. Or those of the people jumping from the Twin Towers. I am easily disturbed by those kinds of things and don't particularly want to faint in front of my PC screen! God knows what I'll do if I have to watch a future wife give birth, I'll probably be on the floor in no time. A co-worker once accidentally sent me a video clip of a Russian conscript getting his throat slit by a Chechen, thankfully he ran over and warned me beforehand and I deleted the mail. Ughhhh.

I seen some ****ed up stuff on ogrish alright. Theres a video of some chechen rebels cutting the head off a russian soldier with a bowling knife in the middle of the snowy forest. They all stand around laughing while the guy screams for his life. Disturbed me for quite a while, as it did all my mates, every one of them.

Hehe, same vid eh?

I just dont get why anyone would want to watch that. Try to imagine it for a second as a video of one of your loved ones, father, brother, etc being decapitated, and geeks and pervs around the globe watching it for a laugh.
Its wrong on so many levels. Thats someone being KILLED, they didnt yell 'cut' and then ken bigley hops back up off the floor and goes to his trailer for the afternoon, the guys dead, and videoing it or watching someone die for a cheap thrill is just messed up beyond belief.

I really dont think most people watch it for a cheap thrill. They arent sitting round in leather underpants getting kicks out of it.Its human nature to be curious about these kind of things. Its the reason people slow down when going past car crashes etc.
In saying that i have have never felt the need to go and look up one of those decapitation videos. The closest ive seen was an American worker in Iraq being shot after a helicopter crash which was easily disturbing enough for me.I certainly didnt think it was a "laugh".The video was on colloegdowntime or something(dont remember exactly where) and i was curious.i dont think that makes me a perv to be honest with you.

I remember watching Faces of Death many years ago, more out of curiousity than wanting a sick thrill.

Its the final clip, of the guy being shot in the cemetary that is still etched in my mind. Whenever I hear the title of the video it comes flooding back.

Also, while the Ken Bigley execution video was very disturbing, there are much much worse out there, believe me.

I dont agree that whoever watches these sort of things is sick or depraved or perverted in any way.

As previous posts say, its in our nature to be curious, even morbidly so.

We shouldn't not watch these type of things, because we have been brought up in a society where most forms of media are sanitised.

why do these vids even exist. like why bother? too much effort.

I hope you werent insinuating that I watched that chechen video for a cheap thrill deadwing?

Far from it, it disturbed me so much because of the lack of proper respect for another human being. As you said, that guy had family etc, and to see his head ripped from his shoulders while others watched laughing is absolutely sickening.
But at the same time, there is a reason behind all this, what the russians did to the chechens was ten times worse, ethnic cleansing basically. Raping and murdering women and children, so its understandable that they would want to tear their enemy to shreds, same goes for the iraqi insurgents. This **** doesnt happen for no reason.

But why did you watch it?

• Closed Accounts Posts: 69 ✭✭spahndirge

I watch some ****ed up stuff stuff on the net, the russian guy getting beheaded, any of the iraq beheadings, some of the weird twisted **** on ogrish, spooned, or some of those old sites. I used to watch a lot of them when I was in my teens as the Net was a relatively new thing.

I watched them because it's taboo, it's something that I watched to see what happened, just curiousity. I can understand people who cannot watch anythign like that, it would be like me watching child porn, I just never want to see anything like that.

I wouldn't look down on anyone who watches any sick stuff on the net. It's just a curiousity, it's like not wanting to look while driving past an accident on the road.

If you don't mind some grotesque stuff, check this out

Faces of Death is 90% fake. The director plays someone in almost every scene. Also, its not banned.

heres an article on how it is fake.

I think we are talking about different 'Faces of Death'.

The one I remember was more like a documentary, supposedly filmed on behalf of Ammnesty International.

AI, again supposedly, disowned the video before release due to what they felt was the gratuitous nature of the scenes.

Whereas, supposedly Matthewthebig is indeed quite big.

Personally I've never seen too much of that stuff. Apart from one I was linked to a while back. Not overly shocking tbh.

most people who watch it are curious not sick, if you don't wanna watch it fair play, but dont go on about it... so you didnt watch anything like that, or search the internet for it or whatever, nobody is claiming they get kicks out of it.. and that ladies and gentlemen is what grinds my gears, Tod....

And look at mine, does that mean i go around condemning people ?

Back on Topic :

I have seen on average 50+ clips of this sort of stuff on the net on various sites, but just from curiosity not some sick fetish of death and decapitations. I have also seen some videos while in the U.S. we rented out for the same purpose, curiosity... can't remember the name but they had some really sick stuff on em and i'm surprised that they are even on sale over there with security conscious America the way it is about anything terrorist.

Honestly, i dont think stuff like this should be so easily accessed but what can you do

ive seen two versions of faces of death, one version is i presume from the 60's or 70's with some doctor showing news clips and other clips that i laughed at because they were staged. I presumed this after i firstly seen an asian version called facez of death, that is all police vids and news reports and is realistic, stomach turning stuff but the music adds to it aswell.

That video is bull**** most if not all the videos are fake scarey

Seen both but the "Banned from TV" one is nasty.
The scene where american politicion, Bud Dwyer, takes a 357 Magnum to his mouth and blows his brains out come to mind. The dude made sure it was caught on camera.
Was the scene with the little kid being hit by the train real or fake?

I downloaded the mpeg of the chechen guy getting beheaded a couple of years ago but I only watched it once, I found it too upsetting. I don't even know if I still have it.
I showed it to a couple fo people and they too were horrified. The one thing that struck me was every one of them had the same reaction on seeing it: They all asked "How could anyone do that to another human being?".

I've given up on looking at those videos / pictures ... I remember seeing a picture of someone who had jumped 30 stories out of a building ... I can still see it in my minds eye ...very very disturbing
