Eh, believe me it is well harder for a male to catch hiv off a female than vice vera.
ejuclating in someone doesn't mean they'll contract hiv, there anti-bodies may be strong enough to fight the disese off right away at such an early stage

We're splitting hairs here Lenny. Either way, is it worth the risk? I acknowledge that you may be correct as per this article, but given the 1/5,000 or 0.02% chance that I can catch HIV from having unprotected sex with an infected girl or the 1/50,000 or 0.002% chance of catching it from having protected sex with an infected girl; as opposed to the 0% chance of catching it if you don't go near the skanky ho, well I know which one I'd go for... I wouldn't touch her with a barge-pole

No, not matter how much you love someone its still not worth risking having unprotected sex, two of my mates have had nothing but their lives ripped apart and depression all the time since they got it, they hated their stupid mistakes of just acticg stupid, one of them even told they would have loved to stay a virgin their whole life than catch the filthy disese is going around

for there to be antibodies capable of fighting off HIV/AIDS they'd have to have been infected with it in the first place. That's how people are diagnosed with the disease. If they have the antibodies. We really shouldn't be giving misleading information here. The bottom line is NEVER have unprotected sex with a stranger. Even if you know the person for some time, only consider it if they are a) 100% faithful to you, b) if they can produce medical proof that they are squeaky clean and that they go for regular STI check ups, and c) that the girl is on the contraceptive pill or has had the injection etc.

I know yea, but were a very well developed country, so they can still lead a decent life.
they still have unprotected sex with the odd person, I'm always telling them off, but at the end of the day, if someone is willing to have sex with a randomer of the night they should know what they're getting themself's into...

i am the original poster. this is not a made up story! this is very true i am sorry to say.

i spoke to a garda. she took my details and said she will look into it. i got the feeling she thought i was an "angry ex" or whatever, like a lot of you people she thought it was a mad story.

i am going to wait a few days and if i hear nothing i will contact a newspaper about it and see if that makes the gardai do something.

i spoke to the girl last night and told her i think what she is doing is sick. she just blanked me. i really felt like kicking the **** out of her!

at this stage i am so apalled i really dont know what to do. like nearly all of the replies above, people think i am lying, because it is just too ****ed up. i wish i was lying! but i'm not.

How did you find out she was HIV positive? When did you find out?
What does she look like? Where should we aviod her?

doubt the garda could do anything without a confession,evidence or someone wanting to take legal action against her. Would men really know they caught it off her? They might just consider poor health as a sign of too many red bull n vodkas and abrakababras. This guy should confront any lad she brings back to the house if you ask me or maybe show her a video/article about the effects of AIDS and in particular in Africa -maybe she might change her ways

1. We are flatmates, not friends! I guess we used to be friends, before I knew about all this stuff. but i always thought she was strangeish so never considered her a "real" friend.

2. I found out in a roundabout way. she has been sleeping with a HIV+ guy without a condom for about 2 years. also, she has slept with at least 1000 people, so it doesn't take a brain surgeon.

also when she told me she is sleeping with men to "get revenge", it does suggest she is Hiv+. i cannot think of a different conclusion.

3. i've pretty much known for about a year, but i always thought it was too mad to actually do anything about it (as in, i thought i must be mistaken.)

4. blonde hair, overweight

5. she drinks heavily. but mostly south side pubs. around the grafton street/georges street area.

6. i have spoken to others about it. the web was my way to vent (anonymously)!

7. i have told her friends. they think it is terrible. but they are so self obsessed they don't really care.

Seriously, it actually takes considerable effort in unprotected sex for female->male transmission of HIV. I would in fact be more concerned about hepatitis B and C, those have a huge chance of transmission.

Encourage her to go to a doctor or a clinic. They are all very discrete and anonymous. She must have already been to one as she has been diagnosed for definite(?).

But multiply it by enough people and risky practices and complicated by other infections and the odds approach "likely".

I would in fact be more concerned about hepatitis B and C, those have a huge chance of transmission.

Your answers don't seem plausable. Light on detail but heavy on moral outrage. You actually don't know she is HIV+ according to your answer. How do you know she wasn't wearing condoms and that the "boyfriend" is HIV too?

I doubt you are the OP and if you are it just proves the story is more unrealistic. People who do this kind of stuff are generally on the road to mental illness like the woman who made up the story about the baby in Ballymun towers.

I was discussing with my friends earlier about how the AIDS Mary story is the scariest thing ever as well as the cinema seats and phone change slot stories.
I hope that the above isn't true because you carry it for so long with out having any signs that you have it.

After 4 weeks or so you get a couple of skin lesions but they go away and for the next couple of years you are carrying but unaware. So presumably a few of those guys may have had dodgy skin for a week but wrote it off as bad shampoo and are now doing the circuits.

Chances of catching HIV/AIDS for a guy thats inserting is 5/10000 or good old Wikipedia says.
