This is very serious and I don't know what to do.

My flatmate is a girl from Germany. I have known her for about 2 - 3 years. I would not consider us to be friends, but we know each other very well. If you met her you would think she is very friendly and nice. She seems very innocent. Like a bit of a dumb blonde. She smiles and laughs a lot. She makes a good first impression (particularily if you are male, she will laugh at all your jokes and think you are great.)

Living with her I have gotten to know the real her. She is very unhappy and unstable. She is UNBELIEVABLE selfish. She is the kind of person who will **** your husband, and not care WHATSOEVER that you are her best friend. She is immorally ****ed.

She is also HIV+. Since I have known her, she has ****ed about 200 - 300 men in Dublin. Yes this is a few a week. She is in her 30's, so this means she has ****ed AT LEAST 1000 men.

The sicker thing is, she is not using condoms. I only recently discovered about her HIV issues, but I remember about a year ago asking her, "Why are you sleeping with all these men? It is not making you happy" (it wasn't) and I thought it bizarre and quite sick to be having so much sex. The poor guys. They had no idea what they were getting into (she gives the impression she never has sex - also, she is quite unattractive.)

Anyway, I asked her why is she ****ing so many guys. She told me, "Because I hate men. This is my way of getting revenge."

At the time I thought nothing of this - in fact, it made no sense to me. ****ing a guy is giving him what he wants!!

But now that I know her HIV status it makes complete sense to me. She is trying to infect as many guys in Dublin as possible.

I am so disgusted and terrified by this. I really do not know what to do.

My question is: if I tell the police, will they (and more importantly) CAN THEY do anything about this?

PLEASE HELP! I need to act on this fast.

    P

    More here: http://www.staff.ie/forum/viewtopic.php?t=68

What I don't understand is why this guy didn't do something a long time ago. What a sick whore. ****ing unbelievable.

Thank **** I've never been with a German girl!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think I would've done something a long time ago!

    It's in Dublin though.

With the amount of sex that goes on it this city, this girl could start causing some big problems.

    I'm shocked!

are you sure this is true? If there was a sudden HIV epidemic in the city would the Health Authorities not have noticed by now? Well time will tell if it is true......

reminds me of the HIV "scandal" down in Co Waterford a few years ago where a priest claimed that there were a number of young men in the locality after being purposly infected by an English woman. But it all turned out to be bullsh!t

It's sounds like total bull to me.

A few years ago a priest got in trouble for telling almost the exact same story from his pulpit. He freaked alot of people out and then refused to be drawn on the details.

    Yes it might be bollox.

But there are a lot of psychos out there.

    It could be true.

Well, assuming it's real and being careful is probably a wise thing as you say dublindude, but it really does stink of total bull. It's like the rapist in the back seat of the car at the gas station e mail if you ask me.... Also it was originally posted by a new user on that forum, whose only 3 posts on the forum were about this 'story'.....

Not everyone gets a regular HIV test. HIV takes time to be noticeable. AIDS can take years to present itself.

Test cases have been taken (almost all successful) against this sort of thing in Holland, USA, Britan and zambia. These are just the ones I know of. I'm sure theres more.
IIRC, the guy in zambia got 15 years, one girl in the US got life and the dutch guy got 30 months.

Well not quite the same but this girl got 2 years! So it does happen!

    From the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/4694595.stm
    Woman infected partner with HIV

A 20-year-old woman has been convicted of infecting her boyfriend with HIV during sex, knowing she had the infection.
Cardiff Crown Court heard the woman, who cannot be named to protect the man's identity, had sex with him for 10 months knowing she was HIV positive.

She admitted unlawfully inflicting grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to two years' youth detention.

The court was sent a letter by the man who said his life had been ruined.

The court heard that she had lied to her partner when he asked her if she carried the infection.

    'Blatant lie'

The woman - who was 18 at the time of the offence and had had HIV since the age of 15 - said she did not tell him because she feared that if she told him, he would leave her.

The court heard the couple had protected sex after they met in a nightclub in September 2002, but stopped using condoms when they moved in together shortly afterwards.

They split up early in 2004 because he suspected she was sleeping with other men, and he then began hearing rumours about her HIV status, the court was told.

He confronted his ex-girlfriend but, said Andrew Jones, prosecuting, "she blatantly lied to him and told him not to be so stupid".

The court heard she showed him a report which said that she was not HIV positive, but the man now believes it was doctored to show a negative result.

She had, in fact, known she was HIV positive since June 2003, the court was told.

    'First proper girlfriend'

The man discovered he was HIV positive 10 days before Christmas 2004 after undergoing tests.

In a letter read to the court, the man said: "I now have to live with being infected with HIV for the rest of my life.

"I will never forget the day I went to the clinic with my father and my brother and they told me I was HIV positive. I can never forgive her for what she has done and the terrible pain my family is going through.

"My mum didn't like her from the start but I was 18 years old and she was my first proper girlfriend and I had to learn from my own mistakes. And learn I did - the hard way."

After her arrest, the woman told police she had heard it was difficult for a man to catch the infection from a woman.

In a letter which was also read out in court, the woman told the man: "I know I hurt you but I didn't know how to tell you. I'm really, really sorry.

"I just didn't want to believe I had HIV. I was 15 when I slept with a boy but I thought it was love.

"I just hoped and prayed you wouldn't catch it. I know it was a horrible thing to do."

In sentencing the woman, Judge Llewellyn Jones told the woman: "In my judgement, what you did to that man is so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified."

The likelyhood of this being true is so slim. Stories similar have been floating around for so long. THis story also has some weird detail like the fact they aren't friends yet live together for so long. The person found out they were HIV by what means? If they have kept the secret for so long how would they suddenly find out. The never noticed the medication the girl was taking for how long?
Now that they know they still haven't done anything. It truely is an ubelievable story probably posted up by a bored teenager who gets there laughs at people. Urban legend to the end.

Not really as it has some slight racist and sexist tones to it by saying she is German and hates men. It is also not true (most likely) and misinformation from adults to youth adds mistrust to a general sceptic crowd.
There are loads of those christian nuts in the US that spread lies and exagerated stories to keep their children virgin. I remember there was christian group running around putting stickers on condom machines here. The stickers claims the AIDs virus was so small that it could go through a condom. That's simply a lie for a means and I see no difference from this kind of story.

Yeah but the jury is still out on HIV passing through condoms, indeed the conclusions from a recent Panorama programme conclude that while condoms are great for reducing the risk of HIV transmission, they are not 100% effective either. Looks like the safest sex is long term monogomous relationship sex. ;)

Sorry what are you saying? The Jury isn't out the whole article is about how the cardinal's statement is at the least misleading and reliant on dodgy data and experiments. Condoms are not 100% safe has always been known and said. Condoms reduce the risk has always been said. Sex with a person with HIV doesn't actually mean you will catch the virus you are more likely to catch it if youare the woman. One of the reasons Hiv/AIDs is spreading so much in Africa is the sex practices. Things like using bark in the sex act tears vaginal tissue and penis tissue sharing blood making the virsu travel easier. The strangle hold the catholic church has in the country makes matters worse.

I don't know everything about Hiv but it isn't a death sentence and people can live happy productive lives.

hmm..even if its not true, it could happen. Think about it, someone gets hiv from unprotected sex or whatever and is (naturally) extremely pissed about it and tries to take as many people with them as possible. There are some sick people around and this wouldnt suprise me

i have a dead cousin because of someone doing that exact same thing.

he was a young gay man who got into a relationship with someone who it turned out had gotten aids and decided to take it out on a few people by passing it on.

they guy died before anything could be done to him about it though.

and now my cousin is dead. he was 28 when he died over ten years ago, the same age i am now.

probably not a true story from the OP (whether he knows it or not) but still possible.

and you know loose ugly birds always get laid, so it only takes one cold bitter bunny boiler to make it reality, and there's no shortage of those either.

I'm inclined not to believe this becaus it's only on the internet. However, if it had arrived to me through a FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD email, then I'd believe it because I was once ultra-FWD'd an good luck email and I couldn't forward it there and then because I was busy in the office, I thought I'd leave it till Monday. That weekend, I crashed my car.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to dissolve a side of beef in Coca Cola.

    Lol.
I think the point here is not sexism nor racism, rather to improve the allure of the thing. There are two completely obvious elements to this story; The devil, and the devil's curse. The devil is the woman. She's a smiley, foreign blond woman, who sleeps around with men. The devil dresses himself in very alluring clothing. Ask any single man whether he'd have any qualms about sleeping with some random, happy, young blonde German woman, and he'll say no. The reasons for using a German woman in this story are obvious, and they're not "isms". The other element is the curse, the virus.

It's an obvious "scare them into wearing protection story", and tries to make you believe that there are now 1000 men walking around Dublin, unknowingly infected with HIV. This is meant to scare women into vigliance. The fact is that (if this actually happened), only 1 or 2, at most a handful of the men she slept with, actually became infected. Statistics on infection likelihood are surprisingly sparse or incomplete (I guess it's not something you can test in a lab), but it's generally accepted that infection rates for men having sex with HIV+ women is that about half of that for most other groups (probably due to the lack of female-male fluid transfer).

Sorry what are you saying? The Jury isn't out the whole article is about how the cardinal's statement is at the least misleading and reliant on dodgy data and experiments. Condoms are not 100% safe has always been known and said. Condoms reduce the risk has always been said.

Well, quoting the end of the article:

    "The conclusion

Condoms can significantly cut the risk of HIV infection, but are not perfect or foolproof."

So what I'm saying is that your previous statement of the claim that the HIV virus can sometimes pass through a condom as being bull****, is not in fact bull****. There is a chance that it can happen. A very low chance, but a chance nonetheless.
One of the reasons Hiv/AIDs is spreading so much in Africa is the sex practices. Things like using bark in the sex act tears vaginal tissue and penis tissue sharing blood making the virsu travel easier. The strangle hold the catholic church has in the country makes matters worse.

I agree with you about the sex practices of many African people (particularly wearing condoms made from animal intestine, which you can see in the article are definitely porous, and the virus can definitely pass through them). However, the usual Catholic Church bashing argument is completely wrong. If the Catholic Church had such a 'strangle hold' on Africans, then they wouldn't have sex before marriage, have multiple wives or commit adultery - therefore, if they followed the teachings of the Catholic Church the rate of HIV infection would be much much less.
I don't know everything about Hiv but it isn't a death sentence and people can live happy productive lives.

Getting tested every 6 months / 12 months to see if one has developed full blown AIDS, monitoring the immune system after simple flus and infections, not being able to have children, and not being able to have a safe and sexual relationship with a partner is not my idea of a happy life!

Yeah why dont we send people who have unprotected sex with a stranger over to Iraq with a sign saying I hate Muslims. Everyone makes mistakes, and when alcahol is involved people are even more prone. The above statement irritates me, its like a judgment on young girls that got pregnant and were sent to the magdeline sisters.

Did you read the same article. Every experiment the cardinal was using was very questionable. Condoms have never been 100%. I never said bull anything just that misleading information. It is not true to say the risk of a condom is the ability for a virus to travel through the latex in a condom because it is so small. The risk is the same as the amount of protection failure risk. Condoms have never ever claimed to be 100% protection about catching HIV. It is intentional fear being spread over another risk of using condoms. The risk has not changed.

There are many ways to have power. Catholic orgainsations have a lot of financiical control in theses countries and they have stopped condoms being made avilable.

What do you think of drunk drivers? I mean they get drunk and then put themselves and others at risk but they are drunk so it's OK right? What's the difference aren't you putting yourself at risk and others too with drunk unsafe sex? Dying of anything may or may not be painful and/or humiliating. People have to understand they are responsible when drunk or not as the result is the same. Drunk isn't an excuse because you got there yourself. THere are certain things you would never do drunk or not on that list should be unprotected sex no excuse!

The experiments were not questionable.. the scientists did not like him using the results of their experiments to suggest that condoms were a bad thing, there's a difference. The risk is still there. You did suggest it was bull****, I quote your original post:
The stickers claims the AIDs virus was so small that it could go through a condom. That's simply a lie for a means and I see no difference from this kind of story.

The HIV virus *can* travel through condoms, it's not 'simply a lie'. Risk is risk amigo.
There are many ways to have power. Catholic orgainsations have a lot of financiical control in theses countries and they have stopped condoms being made avilable.

That's not what you meant, and I think you know it. If Africans adhered to the Catholic teachings, AIDS would be nowhere near the problem it is. Casual sex with strangers, adultery and polygamy caused the spread of AIDS, along with not using condoms - but if the Africans adhered to Church teachings they wouldn't need condoms for protection anyway.
Either is being in a wheelchair but you can still have a happy productive life. Diabetic maybe, there are loads of things which make you "imperfect" but you can live with and go on to be happy

So you reckon you would live a happy life with AIDS? Without being able to have children, with a heavily reduced life span, no possibility of having a normal sexual relationship (and maybe not a relationship at all) with a partner? You'd live on and be happy? Nope. There's a difference between coping with something and having a happy life.

I never mentioned being drunk or drink driving, so I fail to see why you should bring that up at all tbh? To answer your question, I think drunk drivers are irresponsible, and a threat to life.
