Everyone knows what the age of consent is where they live, surely to God. In America they have custodial sentances mandatory rape. Mandatory rape is sex with a minor, regardless of whether said minor gives consent. Everyone knows that. When they get out of prison they are on te esex offenders register, or whatever its called in America.
For a teacher to make such a massive boo boo is just mental. They sent Mary Kay LeTurneau to prison for it and they will send this daft bat there too.

and what's with the paedophile thing? a paedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to children. the boy was 14, making him an adolescent, not a child. it's not exactly the same as interfering with a 5 year old kid now is it?

he was a sexually mature male only 10 years younger than her. 4 years on and nobody would bat an eyelid.

i'm not defending her, i just think all the people with the pitchforks ready to burn her at the stake should get some perspective.

Anybody who reckons it's no big deal is missing the point. It's illegal. If you are under the age of consent, even if you're gagging for it and the other person is above the age of consent, it is the older person who is wrong in the eyes of the law. I didn't make the law, but everyone knows that. And when the accused is a teacher or some other person in authority over the minor, that's when the older person is even more of a gob****e, because the law is the law and they've abused a position of power.

And who'd be giving the teacher the benefit of the doubt and be saying "go on, ya good thing" if the teacher was a man? It makes no odds what the gender of the pupil was, if the teacher was a man, no one would think this was a good thing.

Who ever heard of the defence lawer for a man accused of unlawful sex with a minor of either sex ever using the defence of
"Well, yer honour you cand send him to prison because he's too handsome"
He'd be laughed out of court.

If women want sexual equality, then this is part of the deal. Sex with a minor = prison.

Did you bother reading the thread? Just because a boy would do it doesn't mean it is right for him. Ask a 5 year old does he want to drive and he'll want to do that too. Hedophile is somebody sexually attracted to teens as mentioned already but ultimately that is symantecs and doesn't avoid the point of the negative effect on a child by an adult.
There was an guy(30) recently sent to jail for having sex with a 16 year old two weeks before she was 17. THis woman repeatedly had sex with her student using a position of power.

true. i'm not saying what she did was alright, i'm just saying it's not as bad as if it wa s a little kid.

i totally agree with the position of power/responsibility, and sexual equality for the crimes committed in the context that it should be the same consequences for either sex in this type of crime, but i really don't think this boy is going to be emotionally scarred after this, in fact i think the worst cause of problems for him in the future from this will be from the court case and media attention.

Isn't being attracted to adolescents, i.e not children called nympholia.

That said it's still statutory rape, it's nto as if he was 15 and her 16.

Her being a techer compounds the offence, but doesn;t affect whether it is or isn't right. The fact that she is in a position of power over him means it is possible makes him vunerable. She should have known better.

It's the husband I feel sorry for. I hope he sells his story though.

and she's not a cracker, definatle not for a model. She's not ugly by any stretch of the imagination either though
