ummm i think you may notice that the ones throwing the bricks at Genoa weren't the ones gettin the S**T beaten outta them by the italien police. they were sleeping in a media area and i think if you delve deeper into tje story you will find eyewitness accounts of extreme police brutality

this is NOT a direct quote as i onl;y have limited time on the net right now but i remember one account describing "blood on the ceilings" now i do believe that that is uncalled for

Forget about Genoa and reply to a question about TODAY. there was rolling footage of A Burger King getting smashed to bits by theses guys. What about the guy walking down the street with a pole, smashing car windows? Im sure you'd appreciate he's doing it for his cause if that was your car or if you owned the burger king.

You won't find many people here who agree with the police attacking innocent protestors.

What do you think of the violent protestors in Edinburgh?

They can tip over as many bins and benches as they like. I don't understand why people get more upset about that than they do about environmental destruction, sweatshops, child labour, arms sales, AIDS, lack of clean water and the bloodbaths in Iraq and Chechnya. That's what I call violence and those responsible should be rounded up and shot, starting with the G8 leaders.

For that reason, anarchists are cool and yuppies and liberals are scum.

So the best way to highlight the plight is by smashing stuff up and costing government millions by having to have several police forces on permenant overtime?
If these people ar e so concerned, why arent they over in Africa helping themselves, of is it too uncomfortable and dangerous to stand up to the dictators and armed gangs who have plenty of money in africa, in person. Cos I guarentee that if they actually got off their arses and went to africa, at the first sign of trouble they hightail it off to the embassy of the first friendly nation looking for help and wouldnt turn down a platoon of US marines if they offered help.

I'm sure these same people also step over homeless people in their own countries when going about their daily business.

Yes, the best way to highlight the plight of a third world country is to throw a brick at a policeman.

I wonder what these 'protestors' would do if someone threw a brick at their dad? They'd probably join in cause it's mob mentality. Losers.

Not all protestors are the same and the one's who can make their presance felt without violence have my support.

Yea, gorget about Genoa. Everyone knows the Italians are crazy mo-fo's any way. I was talking about the people throwing bricks yesterday etc and the ones who got up at 4 am to cause trouble.

What did Genoa achieve? It left some Italian anarchist lying dead in the streets with flowers around him.

Flowers for the rebels who failed

The reason anarchism will NEVER work is because anarchists CANNOT organise themselves and in every society or system you NEED organisation.

Years ago I was behind the opening of an anarchist bookstore called "The Garden of Delight". It failed because the people behind it could not even get their sh*t together to open the cafe at lunch time and allowed people claiming to anarchists to walk out of the bookstore without paying for books.

It taught me a lot about anarchism and anarchists. Needless to say I have swung the other way and would describe my politics as right wing capitalist. I will NOT let any little tosser tell me about the world and get in my way of earning $$$.

Now I can appreciate that the police are there to protect my right to wealth / consumption and rejoice in watching these self styles defenders of the earth getting their skulls cracked if they dare to challenge this New World Order!

Does anyone believe that any of the G8 leaders give 2 sh1ts what is going on outside of the window during these summits??

I believe they dont, wondering what everybody else thinks?

You make an Idiotic statment. Of course they do. But the point of Terrorism is to disrupt people, and cause as much problems with every day life. If they were to cancel the G8 talks, what's the benefit of that? Tony blair came to london last night. ALl the other leaders have stayed there.... what would the point of them going back to russia/america/germany etc be?

that's the Irish way! Like september 11th was designed to affect world markets, and we Irish respond by taking a day off work.... thats how the terrorists 'win'

They give 2 shíts about getting elected again. Therefore any organised protest that may effect their chances of that - they will care about. Mindless anarchist violence? I would guess 99% of the world dont give 2 shíts about it and them.
