No it aint cool i dont think? Im only 13 and loadsa 13's smoke but I don't want to waste my life on puffin cigeretes iv better things to do!

I have no fundamental problem with anyone smoking so my comments here are in relation to people thinking of taking it up or just started. You might get away with a few years of good health but ultimately it gets to you. Stop before you you start.

now thats cool smoking. But in general I dont think it is-most people cant carry it like people in the films and just look like normal people but with a fag in their gob.

Your breath smells.
your clothes smell.
your skin smells.
your hair smells.
you look like a tool sucking on a small stick in the cold.
If you smoke inside you choke everyone else.
Every now and then you cough a lung up.
You may need said lung operated on when you have several types of cancer.

I concur.

Sometimes I might think a girl a turn-on until she lights up. Me willy immediately adopts a jelly-like consistency.

Honestly, since the ban has come in, my body can't handle even tiny bits of cigarette smoke. I feel like puking even when I'm near someone puffing away.

So, no, it's not cool.

I neither know nor particularly care whether it's cool or not, but I do enjoy it. Anyway if you do anything because it's considered cool or uncool you may need to get out more. The only "cool" thing to be is an individual not a sheep.

It doesn't make people look hard. Levels of cortisol in smoker's body's prevent them from developing strong muscles. Smoke before you are fully grown and - well - you won't be.
It can help you deal with stress in the short term, although it does actually make you considerably more stressed in general if you smoke. It increases your concentration and your ability to remember things.

and even if you don't notice the smell at the time when your around somebody that smokes, the smell on your clothes later is awfull

I think smoking is disgusting habit & am so glad its banned in pubs & restaurants.
I'm just back from Lanzarote & it was dreadful eating with everyones smoke in your face. Nearly every time too it was irish people sitting beside us smoking.. Really irritating & they were so ignorant, really flaunting the fact that they could & would smoke as many cigarrettes as they wanted...
Thanks be to god I'm back to the smelly irish pubs & cold weather.

nay im 20 yrs old been smoking since 16. im off them 5 days now and im goin great not a craving yet those patches are great, apart from the headaches nausia and the way it ****s up ur sleep ive work in 5 hours but it has wrecked my sleeping pattern so much and then when i do sleep i have the weirdest dreams!!!!
anywho smoking aint cool im only off them 5 days but seriously notice the diff already no more smelly clothes hair etc and the smelly hands in the morin used to make me gag!!!! :cool:

in the movies (Sin City being a prime example) it can look cool as ****

in reality, however, i can't even stand walking behind someone who's smoking. spending the night in a pub is starting to turn into my idea of hell. most of my mates smoke, so i end up giving up a perfectly good table so that i can stand with them in the smoking area :mad:
i come home with my clothes reeking of smoke worse than they ever did before the ban.

I still love the occasional spliff or five though...

Well tman, the only logical solution to that problem is to either take up smoking yourself,(friends should after all have mutual hobbies and interests) or make up your own stealth spliffs from ciggies. One lasted me 4-5 trips outside. Noone noticed the smell when I gave it a go. Although It was in d'Hole (apt name) so not exactly the best test to see if it passes as acceptable around humans.
But yeah,it is a pain in the hole when everyone else is up and outside every 30 mins

I don't see how taking any substance can be considered cool, Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, whatever. If you want to, do it. (But don't make other people inhale your smoke). But if you're only doing it to look cool, you really have no mind of your own.

Smokers are jokers !!!

Smoking isn't cool. People standing outside doors sucking on cancer sticks look sad. It stinks. It is a huge tunr off - nothing worse than seeing a girl smoking. Mind you, i feel sorry sometimes, cos u can see that some larger girls are only smoking as a way to lose weight. Im always very careful not to say anything insulting or derogatory in cases like that.

As for the health consequences - do what you like to your own body - just dont do it to mine. I damage mine enough with alcohol.
