I also find both smoking, and/or too much makeup a big turnoff.. I'm sure most girls would find both a bit of a turnoff on guys too :D

ironically, i don't find it a turnoff if i'm with a girl who smokes h*sh.. can't figure that one out..

cant stand kissing a smoker usually though

Really turns me off when my date trys to stab me (true story)

Headbutting old women however is a definite plus!

Stab you with the meat bayonet, or for real? Do tell?

If a person had any kind of hayfever, or sinus problems, blowing their nose just doesn't help at all. I used to have pretty bad hayfever when I was younger, and it was extremely uncomfortable, not to mention utterly embarrassing, and there was nothing I could do untill I just grew out of it. So have some sympathy, and don't be so damned ignorant, as it's usually a medical condition.

a guy who deosnt wear deodorant is a turn off, big time...even when they dont think they need it...trust us, you do!
    kissing a smoker, yuk
    kissing a drunk, yuk

like my guy to smell nice, but dont over do it...some guys take showers in cologne and when you hug them you walk away smelling like them! ughhh
a little dab will do ya ;)

Also, stay away from Lynx. I am reliably informed by several lady friends that it is a highly efficient woman-repellant.

but lynx is cool as are lynxs.

    1 smoking.2 exxess make up.
is this just me does this turn most guys off from women.?
    3. Bad oral hygiene
    4. Complete and obvious lack of previous ornadonthal care
    5. GRANNY TIGHTS!
    6. Getting drunk very quickly
    7. Talking about previous boyfriends
    8. Talking about previous boyfriends and crying
    9. Total lack of nail care
    10. And at the end of the night? Mismatching undies.

But you know what? Us Irish lads aren't as fussy as our English/European counter parts once sufficiently gargled and/or desperate. We usually go by the ALIADALAINF rule (Anything Legal In A Dress As Long As It's Not Family).

Or "Atari Jaguar". Every Boards user would buy this. It'd sell like mad :D

Pity there's such a jump between "buying" and "Using regularly"...

When your date burns tries to burn your beard (yeah fair enough it was quite long at the time). That's a bit of a turn off. And so is the smell tbh ;)

So do you match your underpants with your socks then! :p

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 5,555 ✭✭✭tSubh Dearg

Karl Hungus - I'm talking about guys with colds in the winter, who SAY "I have bit of a cold" and proceed to sniff and snuffle all night long without once blowing their nose....the noise of that sniffing, would drive you up the wall.

I've never had any problem with the sniffing noise from hay fever suffers as it's a completely different sound (well it is to me) that's not half as offensive sounding as that sniffing gurgly noise that some guys make as they hock back a giant wad of snot and swallow it.

    Kebabs!!

They're a sure fire way to be put off by a girl!

A drunk girl should never eat a kebab in public lol
Sapose it's the same for us boys too...

    I'll shuurup now! :)

Smoking doesn't bother me given that I'm a smoker myself.

    My own list:

    1. Too much make-up is a definite turn-off.
    2. Fake tan. Ladies, there is no such thing as an acceptable/discreet amount.
    3. Being overly-self consious.
    4. Falsity.
    5. Being late.
    6. Using your mobile during a first/second date.
    7. Bad teeth.
    8. Non-matching/"laundry day" underwear.
    9. Having nothing to say for herself.
    10. Using the words "loike", "roysh" or "mare" without a trace of irony.
    11. Trying to determine my financial worth.
    12. Stupidity/Dizzyness
    13. Complaining about uncomfortable shoes. If you want to wear insane heels that hurt your feet, that's your decision, don't expect sympathy for the fact.
    14. Displaying a lack of manners, to me or anyone else we come across, particularly waiting staff.

    No wonder I'm single! :(

bad personal hygiene is the worst!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,330 ✭✭✭✭Amz

These are some of the aesthetic things that would have put me off when I was dating.
    • Bad personal hygiene.
    • Yocky teeth.
    • In the past I would have said smokers, but if they look after their oral hygiene they're not so bad.
    • Too much hair gunk.
    • When eating out and he can't seem to manage the art of getting ALL the food in his mouth and most of it ends up on his face.
    • Dirty clothes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭Dizzyblabla

    1. Not shaven (if you have a beard, fine, make sure it's neat though)
    2. TEETH! - a big thing, there is nothing worse than seeing your lunch in your teeth.
    3. Talking about something that is obviously not interesting to the person you are out with i.e. football or how drunk you got the last night you were out.
    4. Personal Hygiene. Maybe it's moe difficult for a guy to not smell like he hasn't showered in a week by the end of the night, but that's what anti-perspirants were invented for, Lynx is NOT an anti-perspirant, it's just a deodorant.. go for Sure or something like that..
    4. Leering at other girls when you're out with a girl.
    5. Talking more to a girls chest than you do to her.
    6. Talking about ex-girlfriends and what bitches they were..
    7. Ya, the sniffing thing drives me nuts too, but it's the snorting it back (see tSubh Dearg's description above) that makes me want to vomit..
    8. Asking if you can kiss her... chances are, she wouldn't have gone on the date if she didn't want to kiss you, just find the right moment and lean forward, watch Hitch, do the 80-20 rule! just Do Not Ask, it totally spoils the moment.
    9. Lateness - a pet hate of mine.

I'm sure there's a million more, but definately those ones anyway..
