Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    1) it's a forming band
    2) that radar although very handy :D Isnt showing the showers
in England so i dont know about how accuarate it is..

Still it wasnt meant to get more intense until it develops but
it wont it was only meant to bring light-moderate stuff anyway..

Also watch the milder air aloft in the west, dont want that
do go too far east and if the front moves further east than
    expected it will ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Dare i say a really bad rush hour in Dublin as snow will arrive around
4-5am... If there's more than 2cm's lying and it's still falling i aint

whats brought this sudden turn around??? What time you reckon first showers? (have to set the alarm!)

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 16,959 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gonzo

clear outside, frost all over car and temperature is 0c, I expect it to fall to -1C or -2c by midnight. I see the west is still quite mild with many 4c to 6c around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Holding at 2.3c here and does not look like moving. Cloudy outside too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

The frontal band has edged further east than expected
and leaves Dublin in the firing line for prolonged snow tomorrow
morning or infact from 3-5am :D

The showers will start tomorrow evening too,
we will be a rut with snow by the end of the week :D

yep Gonzo the milder air in association with the upcoming
feature will mean western areas will be milder tomorrow
but the east is a different matter maxima of 3c late in
    the day i reckon :D

There is a weak circulation over Holland that is drawing in that weatherfront. I would not be surprised if it just went down over Wales now... :(

    Drizzle, Knock, 2c, 2100z. :(:(:(

How far is the cursed mild air aloft over Ireland???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Yep Danno as i have said western areas wont get any snow from
this too mild. Eastern areas are truely in the very cold atmoshphere
and will stay in it through the night and tomorrow :)

Even tho Knock is recording 2c its upper level temperatures
are being mixed by milder air aloft ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

The blue line here shows the furthest extent of the milder
    air ;)
    http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn123.gif

The 528dam line will be a crucial player
    Also the dew point
    http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1210.gif

As i've said it will be touch and go for Laois ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

So where is the boundary between this mild upper and cold upper air mass ???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

We need more recording stations in this country. :(

Around the the connacht border getting as far as the Dublin border
tomorrow although this is very rough and local variances will
    be a crucial factor.

i feel more confident here having seen snow fall from this atmosphere tho ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,890 ✭✭✭embee

    Whats the goddamn story?

Not a PEEP of any snow here (Ardee, Co Louth) yet.

    I don't get it.

Anyhoo, I shall be greatly disappointed if there isn't snow in the morning when I get up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

theres no precipitation in the east so no sign of snow for hours yet, but atm theres drizzle/rain all around galway, clare and northern parts of kerry. are these just showers or is it the band of precipitation thats gonna effect us later tonight? from the look of things these will just move south into kerry & cork and then out to sea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Nope gonzo ours are currently in Scotty.night all :D;)

Ah, finally found Garfield on PAGE 29

@GONZO: It looks like a home-grown event in Galway, or it could be upper level activity. Rain/Snow evapourating before it hits ground.

    Me likes Me likes!! :D
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/live/radnirl1.jpg

Edit: according to latest data it should have began in belfast now and I believe it'll reach Dublin in roughly 3 hrs or a bit less. I'll get it in the hilly countryside of my abode about 45 mins before Dublin. It looks like that places west of Belfast are getting rain. Any reports?
