Good luck to him getting $1000 - won't be easy after they announce the 2nd gig ;)

To be sure to get tickets you gotta sign up as a
U2.com subscriber, cost US$25. This entitles you to
purchase 4 tickets before they go on general sale. But
you don't have much time. You have to subscribe today
as the tickets go on sale to subscribers at 10am
    tomorrow.

Subscriber tickets for Croke Park now won't go on sale until the 31st.

Second gig... where are yez goin.... 3gigs in Croker min...they could easily sell it 4 times...I got big time burnt last year on the madonna gig.. never tried to make money like that before and I won't either ... especially on a U2 gig... I was there in 85,87 the point 89, RDS in 93 and slane the other year...
Have signed up to the $40 membership... (a bit peeved at that) but will be buying just the mandatory 4 premium tickets to ensure I get one...just in case...I suppose $40 is little expense compared to taking a day off work ...

When is the pre-sale for Ireland. The web site says that it is the 31st of Jan while the e-mail says that they are on sale today. What is everyone else doing?

It's 31st of Jan. Some of the other European concerts go on sale today, but not Croke Park.

In short I don't know but I think you can take it for granted there will be one extra show on the Saturday which I'm sure will be announced when the 1st gig is sold out.

Just got this for a mate of mine
    Check it out

............I intend to sell my spares for $1000 a pop. Gotta make back some of the cash I've squandered on those bozos over the years.

What planet does your mate live on? If there was anyone that desperate to see them they would surely already be a member of U2.com for a mere $40. For a $1000 you could fly to San Diego and see the tour kick-off there. It is people like him that ruin it for the normal fan. 3 nights at Croker, tickets will be tight yeah but I think you'll get one at a reasonable price closer to the time if you don't get one next week.

I agree there. Love U2 and all but $40 to be a member is a tad little bit steep.

Is that just a rumor about Morrissey supporting U2? an d does anyone know how much the tickets will be when they are on sale?

UK ticket sites were fairly busy this morning - seems most of the standing tickets are getting snapped up (possibly gone) and there is a 2nd date in Twickenham which I didn't know about, so that's a lot of ticket...

Lol, looks like things are going badly with the $40 dollar presale thingamybob - lots of unhappy campers...

    <edit>

    Lol and there's more...

looks like the site for ticketmaster is down...

what a shower of muppets maybe its because its not 10 yet but we will see

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

Well, best of luck to anyone trying to get tickets :)

    <edit>

What's the chances that a lot of the people who couldn't get tickets for the UK dates now see a weekend trip to Dublin as an attractive option. BTW, I like the way that you've follow a link for "UK tickets" on the U2 website for an Irish event...

When I buy tickets I try to pay the least amount of service charge, generally buying by cash from an agent.
Sound Cellar on Nassau St (Dublin 2, beside Subway) often takes deposits on tickets. They sells all sorts of tickets, but there is no computerised seating facility - it's take what you get. Also, they only take cash.
Those negatives aside, they *might* take a deposit on a U2 ticket which would mean you could get a ticket for 2 euro service charge per ticket and would not have to get up early on Friday morning.

Since I've no interest in the gigs and I don't work for Sound Cellar I don't know if the above idea will work. Call Sound Cellar (677-1940, according to online phone book).

I'm getting the same message up saying current demand too high to display page - will refresh every 10 seconds. For 30 mins now, afrind to close adn restart considering all the problems others were having.

Just got 4 standing tix - after a long frustrating wait.

daymobrew - I totally agree Sound Cellar is best but probably not in this case. For the Slane concerts he wasnt selling any tickets officially - per Tommy 'too much ****'... so I doubt he'll be selling on Friday. U pretty much have no option but go the TB way.

Anyone know how many of each type of ticket there'll be? ie. standing, upper tier, lower tier? And can I presume that the €60 ones are the standing tickets?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,201 ✭✭✭krattapopov

manged to scrape 4 standing tickets... they are 60 euros each, sitting is 80 i believe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,201 ✭✭✭krattapopov
