i dont reakon ud get a pw6 for 1900 euro.cheapest would be 1450 stg= 2100 euro+200 for scart bord. tuners are dear around 500 or 600 so around 2800+150 delivery =3000. however my reason for recommending richer sounds is for 10% u get a 3 year warrwnty. every one else in uk wants 35% for 3 year warrenty.
i saw a nice samsung today in dixons for 2400,in the square with tuner, surround speakers and scart/ compostite board. looked very nice. not too bad a price BUT what do u do with it if it stops after 12months? throw it out and buy another?

It gets great reviews on sites and forums. Can't you just buy a stand-alone dvd-recorder and use it instead of a €500-600 TV tuner board?

    QUOTE Thanks peoples,
In the end i went for the Philips 37inch LCD. Bought it in Arnotts for €3999 and hope to have it delivered next week. Comes with speakers and wallmount which it seems you have to pay for seperately with plasmas.
The display price was €4500 so i haggled and got it cheaper. The Price in the Philips shop on georges street is €4999.

i think u have more money than sense this was definately a bad deal. when u can buy a plasma for half that and bigger as well. also its definately not an investment, within 1 year they will b down to plasma prices.
    good luck with it anyway

Had about €3500 worth of Arnotts vouchers for wedding presents and to be honest the LCD seemed like the best option.
DVI input HDTV ready and so many of the plasmas i looked at had some sort of burn in when i looked closely at them in the shops.
A friend has a pw6 of which he said, and this was what decided on the LCD for me "After watching Sky news for an hour or two, when you change channel you can see the sky news logo for hours on other channels when the screen goes black or light."

I'm very happy with the LCD, picture is perfect.

Just wondering what are people's opinions of the 37PF9986 now that they have it for a while. I am considering one in the near future and would like to know what people think and would they recommend it. Where is the cheapest place to buy right now and what is it going for?

    I'm really happy with it.
The only gripes i have are that there is no on screen volume bar that i can find and the auto adjustment mode widens the whole screen and stretches the sides.

    Other than that, fantastic TV
