I was behind 'The Edge' in the queue in Supermacs in Naas 5 years ago. It was just after Radiohead played their tent tour gig at the racecourse there. Can't remember what he ordered.
Saw Ken Doherty in the restaurent in some hotel in Killarney.
Gave a light to Rachel Loshak (apparently she supported Norah Jones at the grammy's or something?)

    Bill Clinton
    Bono
    Ronaldo
    Ronaldinho
    Thierry Henry
    David Beckham
    The Pope
    Sting
    Jennifer Aniston
    Alex Ferguson
    Billy Connolly
    Metallica
    Ozzy Osbourne

I never met any of the above but I did have my photo taken with Norman Whiteside after Utd won the cup in '85. Pat Crerand took the photo but being 12 at the time, I had no idea as to his significance. Met George Best too a few years ago in his heavy drinking days (come to think of it, yesterday was probably a heavy drinking day for George) in Mick Byrnes hostelry in Castlebar. Saw Pierce Brosnan having his photo taken in St. Stephens Green about 4 years ago. Once played Steve Davis in a frame of snooker at an exhibition - I broke, end of story!!!

TBH Andrea Corr is probably the nicest "Famous" person I've met, was on work experience in ardmore studios, she was lost, I showed her the way to her studio, had a really nice chat with her. I didn't actually know it was her until one of the guys I was working with pointed it out. Nice lady though.

I danced next to woody harrelson while he was wearing a skin tight pink dress in the blackbox in Galway, I got talking to him later and while i was sitting next to him asking him what he was doing in galway, alicia Silverstone walked through the crowd and patted both myself and him on our bald heads and ran off into the crowd...........

    Totally true story.

About a week later i kicked his ass at wipeout on the PS1 at a mutual friends house (he was fairly baked!) He was in town to promote a film he did the voice over for.

    Read down to 2000.

Right, I'm not sure if everyone is counting famous ppl they've actually met or just seen? I'm leaving out any that I didn't directly meet... (some good ones like Sarah Jessica Parker & Will Smith were in close proximity but I didn't meet them)...

Claudia Christian (Ivanova B5)..Forbidden Planet (back when it was on Dawsons St).

Corin Nemec (Parker Lewis) @ MGM Studios back when that was still on TV.

Brian Kennedy...on the New York subway.

Brian Dowling in The Chocolate Bar.

Scootch (wannabe Steps group, they didn't last long) @ Splash in Vicar's St.

Jordan & Peter Andre...At a Brand Licensing Expo in Earls Court (I also got to sit in the BB5 Diary Room Chair, WOW! :p )

Derek Davis...comes into my dad's shop.

    Mary from Glenroe...same as above.
Seen a load of Fair City actors around the place, but only met/talked to the Police Guy, dunno his name, Detective something ;)

I was meeting some friends in a restaurant when who walked in and sat at the next table but Satan, Old Nick, the Lord of the Flies.

He's about 30 foot tall, is a dead ringer for Desmond Lynham and smells of pine cones. We got talking to him about badminton, really nice down-to-earth bloke.

Have played poker with Ken Doherty, Steve Davis and Joe Dolan.

Bumped into Pierse Brosnan and his dad on Grafton St and gave him a savage dirty look.
Saw Bill Clinton in Dublin Airport when he was over for his book signing a while back, big smiley head on him.
My dad was at a funeral where Bono said the eulogy and got chatting to him afterwards, he told us later that "Mr Bono is an awful nice man", fs.

Met Martin Sheehan in Madrid airport last year, was very friendly with everyone he talked to because the flight was 2 hours delayed, then in Dublin airport he just queued up with everyone else to collect his bags off the conveyer belt, and this was a time when in was in bad favour in America over his stance about the war.

I'm somewhat deficient in the famous people I've met department. Only ones I can think of are Donall Farmer, who used to play the priest in Glenroe for years and Pat O'Mahoney, who used to present fashion and (I think) music shows on RTE. Always thought Pat was a bit of a tosser when I saw him on tv, but I've been out on the batter with him a couple of times and he's a sound bloke.

i was given out to by sir bob geldof about 13 years ago, i live across the road from his sister,
i was playing football with my friends and i smashed her window,

she and him came outside and told me "to tell my mother what i done"

even now he reconises me when he's over and chats, nice guy.

also met ray darcy in a abarakabbara one night last year, he was with some blond one and he had kabbab sauce all over his face, the one time i wished i had a camara phone.

i sang some songs in a pub with leonardo di caprio (although his bodygaurd was doing most of the singing) and his mother.
bumped into other smaller celebrities like fair city cast members (who i had known previously) and ray d'arcy types.

alto me dad met kings and queens and presidents, various heads of state and the pope (twice).
(ooh and he was a guest on the late late show years ago :)
