List the famous people you've met. Stuff like saying you saw Mick Jagger at a Rolling Stones concert once doesnt count or saying you saw Paul McGrath playing for Ireland at Landsdowne Road.

For me the most famous person I met was Mother Teresa. It was 12 years ago in New York, a few of us were sight seeing around town and we went to take a look at the revolving restaurant at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. We noticed a lot of bishops and the such around, for some conference we found out later. We get the in the elevator but got off the wrong floor. A security guard told us to step aside because someone was coming along. To our surprise it was Mother Teresa in a party of about 10 people, she came over and we said Hi and how's it going or something. Then she was off. Tiny. Four foot nothing. Definetly a spooky feeling came over the 3 of us. We felt like complete idiot after cos the only thing we said was how's it goin.

Also met Roy Keane last year after training with Man Utd in New Jersey. Had my pic taken with him. Then I asked him why he had bailed out on the Irish team before the world cup. He gave me one of his looks and said 'gotta go'.

Also met Joe Lieberman at a charity function when he was running for VP. Very nice fellow. Had a nice chat when at the end he asked if he could count on my vote. Told him sorry but I couldnt vote as I wasnt a US citizen yet.

I cannot believe that you asked Roy Keane why he "bailed on us in the World Cup".

    HE WAS SENT HOME.

Haven't met too many internationally famous people. Jarvis Cocker asked me for a light once. Myself and my mate (fanboy) were waiting outside the venue an hour before the concert as he wanted to meet the big thin man. He sneaked up from behind, the cad!

Oh and Sinead O'Connor walloped into me on Grafton st and said sorry, unlike Ian Dempsey.

I met Anthony Foley, Mick Galwey, Brian O'Driscoll, Shane Horgan and David Humphries in Oz last year during the World cup. Foley and Humphries are 2 sound out blokes....really down to earth.
Met Nadine's sister ( girls aloud) in Derry last August. We went there for a few nights out. She was arrogant and was living off her sisters fame. Defo didnt get the good looks of the family.

I used to go to the Olympia a lot years ago and met the following people there:

    EMF
    Ride
    The Charlatans
    Noel Gallagher
Liam Gallagher (who legged it down the road with my vinyl copy of DM.. I had to chase after him to get it. That was embarrassing)
Evan Dando (wearing Kurt Cobain's jacket)
    Inspiral Carpets

I met The Stunning in their heyday, in Virgin Megastore, doing a signing.
I met Michael Stipe in O'Connors Jeans. I said 'hello', and he replied 'I don't sign autographs'!
I shook Ray Davies' (The Kinks) hand in HQ when he was doing 'Storyteller'

    Think that's about it..

    Kevin.

PS - A mate of mine served The Edge some ham when working in Super Valu a few years back.

    Best yet, deadly!

Well, I used to work in The Point, so I've been in the Backstage Bar more times than I care to remember.

But the best one has to be the time Andrea Corr gave it to me.

    Her stool.

It was the Robbie Williams gig, so we closed the bar early-ish, then headed backstage. Anyway, after the concert the bar really starts to fill up, this time no exception. Me and the other lads from the bars were sitting around a table, and of course I needed to use the bathroom. When I came back the place was chocka, and some other b-lister had had my seat. I was looking around for another one, and caught this girls eye, who was sitting at his table. She stood up, and handed me her stool, then took his off him, saying "Well, you took his"! I took the stool, said "Nice one", smiled, parked my arse, and the rest of the lads were just in shock.

Others I have met include the whole Manchester United squad the night before the Beckham wedding, Fat Boy Slim played The Point, and they were all there. I called Phil Neville Gary, asked Ryan Giggs where Keano was, and he told me he wasn't there, so I told him he'd do for a photo, he just laughed.

I met David James, who has the same birthday as my brother. He was really sound, but it was in early August, back when he was playing for Liverpool, so I told him I hoped he had a really bad season!

The MTV Awards were probably where I saw the most celebs, but not actually met. Ken Doherty came up to my bar. We only served Guinness products at the time, and he asked for a Heinekin, which we didn't sell. He turned his nose up at the other lagers, and asked for a glass of white wine. He arived back about ten minutes and asked to swap for a pint of Carlsberg because, and this is a direct quote, "I look like a **** with this (the glass of wine)". Complete Tool.

My favourite meet was the lads from Ocean Colour Scene. I love the band, and was genuinely Star Struck meeting those lads, no doubt, but they were really down to earth.

After Shels won the League this season, I was back in Tolka Park and met whatever players were back in the bar that night, and the manager. That was really cool, having the players join in the chants with the fans.
