Was the man too small to reach the lock on the door and required a stick but while he slept the stick was eaten by mites?

is the man a carpenter or craftsman?

    2. Hogan and Snead are professional golfers and long-time rivals. One day during a game, they had each scored 30 when Hogan hit a bad shot. Snead immediately added 10 to his own score. Snead then hit a good shot and won the game. Why?
okay... now that I think about it... you don't add 10 to you score for hitting one bad shot in golf... But 30 and 40... are the scores that you get in tennis... yeah, it makes sence in that case... they aren't actually playing golf at all...

Was the piece of stick holding the window open - his only exit to the outside world? The window collapsed, breaking the stick and locking the small man inside- he died of starvation. The guy watching is some sicko who laughs at the helpless?

haha... that's pretty elaborate. But no.

And he isn't a carpenter either.

As I said.. the size of the stick is relevant.... work more in that area...

Even in stableford scoring there's no way of getting 10 points on one hole.
They must have a side bet on.
Is it of relevance that a "bad shot" is a golf term that doesn't mean the shot was poorly played?

Nope... the dead man has the keys to the door and windows.

I don't think you'll be able to guess it without asking me more questions.

This gets more intersting by the minute :D

Ok - changed my question after re-reading all the posts.
Did the dead man lock the windows and doors?

Monkeyfudge question: The man was at the window. Is he inside the room?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

okay.. a few questions to answer here

The wood is not from a ceiling fan.

The man at the window is outside the window looking in. There is no way he could have gained entry while the dead man was inside.

The victim did not starve to death. And it is his bedroom and he is supposed to be in it. And he's pretty damn small.

and I don't know about 42 or anything... but thanks for all the fish anyway...

Did the piece of wood come from an item of furniture in the bedroom?.....say the bed?

I'm firing the questions fast here - was the man's death accidental?

And I'm still trying to work that "size of the stick" angle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,510 ✭✭✭sprinkles

Ok ok, so he locked the doors and windows, left a stick and some sawdust on the floor and then preceeded to die all over the floor. Right. How did he die?

    Does anyone have Columbos number?

    Yes. yes it is.

And the piece of wood isn't from anything else. But it does have a function.

    The death was not accidental...

The answer had beeter be good. For the sake of all monkeys!!

Did the stick belong to the man at the window.

Who is the man at the window.

names would really make this a more personal riddle and help us relate to the situation. Did the poor dead man have children etc...

Will someone plese think of the children................

It's a pretty good answer I guess... eek eek...

The stick belonged to the dead man. And it wasn't a walking stick or an artificial leg.

Ha.. and do you remember the last time I tried to name the characters? I came up with Bosco.

    Oh.. and Mysterons weren't involved.

*SPLATTER* - that's the sound of my Great Mouse Detective brain splattering all over the monitor.

Ok not an accident - was it suicide? Cause if it wasn't then we're opening up a real can of worms.

    Yes.. Drive-in movie... that's right...

    How about a hard one?

A man is dead in his bedroom. All the doors and windows are locked from the inside. On the floor near to him is a wooden stick and a pile of sawdust. The man has no visible injuries and there is a man at the window laughing.

    How did the man die?

    Was he a blind midget?
