    Ha - I was only talking about this the other day. :D

    The Final Countdown - Europe, and I'm not messing.
    If I ever get married, that will be my only stipulation. That song ROCKS!

    At my wedding we had this from phantom of the opera sang in the church. There wasnt a dry eye in the house...

    No more talk of darkness,
    forget these wide-eyed fears;
    I'm here, nothing can harm you,
    my words will warm and calm you.
    Let me be your freedom,
    let daylight dry your tears;
    I'm here, with you, beside you,
    to guard you and to guide you.

    Say you'll love me ev'ry waking moment;
    turn my head with talk of summertime.
    Say you need me with you now and always;
    promise me that all you say is true,
    that's all I ask of you.

    Let me be your shelter,
    let me be your light;
    you're safe, no one will find you,
    your fears are far behind you.

    All I want is freedom,
    a world with no more night;
    and you, always beside me,
    to hold me and to hide me.

    Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
    let me lead you from your solitude.
    Say you want me with you, here beside you,
    anywhere you go, let me go too,
    that's all I ask of you.

    Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.

    Say the word and I will follow you.
    Share each day with me, each night, each morning.

    Say you love me ...
    You know I do.

    Together:
    Love me, that's all I ask of you ...
    Love me, that's all I ask of you.

    Don't know about my wedding, but for my funeral I defo want "The Parting Glass" from the Waking Ned soundtrack. Can't remember who sings it, and can't be arsed checking.

    I'd actually consider playing "Nothing Else Matters" at my wedding since someone mentioned it above. Cool song.

    Ahhhh for a wedding song! This one is nice:

    FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS
    Written by Twain/Lange
    In your arms I can still feel the way you
    want me when you hold me
    I can still hear the words you whispered
    when you told me
    I can stay right here forever in your arms
    And there ain't no way --
    I'm lettin' you go now
    And there ain't no way --
    and there ain't not how
    I'll never see that day....

    Chorus:
    'Cause I'm keeping you
    forever and for always
    We will be together all of our day
    Wanna wake up every
    morning to your sweet face -- always

    Mmmm, baby In your heart--I can still hear
    a beat for every time you kiss me
    And when we're apart,
    I know how much you miss me
    I can feel your love for me in your heart

    And there ain't no way --
    I'm lettin' you go now
    And there ain't no way --
    and there ain't no how
    I'll never see that day....

    Repeat Chorus

    (I wanna wake up every morning)

    In your eyes -- (I can still see
    the look of the one) I can still see
    the look of the one who really loves me
    (I can still feel the way that you want)
    The one who wouldn't put anything
    else in the world above me
    (I can still see love for me) I can
    still see love for me in your eyes
    (I still see the love)

    And there ain't no way --
    I'm lettin' you go now
    And there ain't no way --
    and there ain't no how
    I'll never see that day....

    Repeat Chorus (2x)

    I'm keeping you forever and for always
    I'm in your arms

    For my funeral.......Free Bird!

    Me brother and sister-in-law had From This Moment by Shania Twain. 'Twasn't a song I knew before, but it was lovely.

    That one from Phantom of the Opera, above, reads well. What's it called, anyone?

    As for Amazed, that was one of the most cringeworthy songs to make it into the charts in the past few years!

    Indeed she does. Wonder what's going on there, and if her husband, AC/DC producer Mutt Lange, gets upset that no-one uses You Shook Me All Night Long!:D

    Possibly, "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"

    ...But that's only for when I've turned my heels and am halfway down the aisle out of the church.

    Indeed.

    "She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean"

    and

    "She told me to come, but I was already there"

    Sure, The Darkness are only trotting in their wake...;)

    Heard a great one on the way into work.

    Convoy (sounds like Jonny Cash but don't know who sang - anybody?)

    ...I'm still sticking to Final Countdown though.

    "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails

    heh ...just kidding....

    I really like the phantom one - I think it's called "All I ask of you"

    I think for me it would have to Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight"

    All I Ask Of You.

    Good song, despite it having been written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (having said that, Diane Warren wrote How do I live and she's the witch responsible for that Titanic song and quite a bit of drivel besides (cough, Chicago 21))

    London Cast album has a far better version compared to the single version (you get to miss out on Cliff if you skip the single version:))

    AFAIK Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the music and not the lyrics to All I ask of you.

    Big hit in the late 70s IIRC.

    Yeah, but he's still the devil's spawn. Richard Stilgoe (the one who agreed with fat boy that it'd be a good idea to put people on roller skates and pretend they were trains[1]) wrote the lyrics for the musical, Lloyd-Webber didn't like them so got Charles Hart to re-write most of them. Lyrical credit eventually ran "lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe". Mike Batt of "Bright Eyes" and Wombles fame wrote some of them as well but didn't receive a credit. I'm actually quite ashamed to know this.

    [1]Starlight Express (1984). Dreadful crud

    My sister had that at her wedding. At the ceremony. She didn't know the priest was going to play it but he did and it was really sweet.

    I don't know what song I'd play at my wedding.....that'll have me thinking all day now....

    :confused:
