Yeah, I would have preferred your dinner Sande NOM NOM!

Tell us about the cheese… looks like cheddar?

Tastes like strong mature cheddar. Not exactly sure of its provenance. My SuperValu use it in their restaurant and sell off the unused stuff in the evening.

Finally got around to eating the Christmas pudding. A small one between the two of us. I was starving an hour later so made a kebab.

The hot smoked salmon broke up as I was trying to heat it.

Gave Paris Texas in Kilkenny another chance. Winner winner this time. From the top, ribs with applewood BBQ sauce, tempura prawns with a delicious lemongrass and chilli mayo and crispy kale for starters. For mains, jambalaya and braised featherblade of beef, which was melt in the mouth.

I surprisingly loved the crispy kale as it's not a vegetable I enjoy and the mayo with the prawns was outstanding. And the frizzled onions are addictive! And I don't really like onions.

    Very glad we tried again.

Boring but nice peppers, mushrooms, spuds and brown bread.

And milk again. Is there something happens in the dairy industry that I haven't heard of? SuperValu, Tesco and Aldi all seem to have overstocked this week and are selling it off before it hits it's BBD.

    Such great dinners there…

I'll have just a sweet potato, canned herring in pepper sauce with spinach and peas.

Saturday was fillet steak and fried mushrooms, with a chicken fillet that needed using up, which was coating in olive oil, herbs and parsley. Got these mushrooms in Dunnes, first time having them and they were lovely. Will definitely get them again.

    image.png

This evening was chicken fillets coated in olive oil, paprika, sumac, parsley and chipotle chilli flakes and airfried. Served in a roll with potato salad, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato, scallion, cheese and mayo. Delicious, but so messy, ended up finishing them with a knife and fork. 😂

    image.png

Really need to think of other ways to have chicken fillets, my go-to is usually a roll or wrap with salad etc.
