Thank you. 600-700 EUR was the dreaded price range I read in online stories and that's what made me ask the dealer. I couldn't have imagined they'll say 1000+… I was hoping they'll say 500 in total :)

I was looking at a website in the last two weeks that let you see the prices of different services from different Hyundai main dealers. Can't remember where I originally found the link, maybe Reddit.

    No trolling intended.

This is not zero maintenance on EVs as a lot of people preaching on boards. 1000 for coolant which is design flaw I think they know it may leak inside battery hence expensive non conductive coolant.

I only ever paid this much on an ICE cars when it was a big repair. Normal service was 300 or less.

I keep reading about Hyundais and I don’t think I would buy their ev soon. Like ioniq5 though.

Dealers for many makes are ripping off customers for servicing EVs.

Does not help owners who listened to the promised it would be zero cost to maintain except tires.

I priced around a few local independent garages where I live in Kilkenny. One independent garage that specialises in EVs quoted me €220 for coolant change. Thats only for the coolant change nothing else.

That including the cost of the coolant or just the labour charge?

Many owners got confused with the non requirement to “service” but forgot about the requirement to maintain.

Most, if not all EV brands now require a yearly service (or 15k) to maintain warranty, Toyota for example., but the off shoot of this is their 10 year warranty which is brilliant IMO. If the servicing was reasonable, say €150 per year, that’s a lot of peace of mind to trade for that warranty.

Some are 2 years though, Tesla is the only one that does not have a schedule to maintain warranty but that doesn’t mean you should not get brakes, suspension and general checks carried out.

Must better price. I remember reading the Ioniq Forums last year or the year before and a few UK posters seemed to be having trouble finding local mechanics to change the fluid and the usual reason was they didn't have access to some sort of pump to flush the fluid. Hopefully that's sorted now and more people have the pump/connector or whatever they were missing back then.

2022 73kWh Ioniq 5. I got the dreaded ICCU failure overnight. It blew just as the zappi kicked in at 2am. Discovered the issue this morning when looking at the myenergi app which had errors that turned out to be the breaker having tripped. Hopped into the car to see the check electrical system error message and the OBD dongle told the rest of the story. 12v dropped briefly but HV brought it back up.

Waiting on Hyundai Barlo in Clonmel to call me back on Monday morning.

Has anyone got a timescale for when the car is likely to be back on the road? I do 1000km per week and really need to be in a car on Tuesday, be it courtesy or rental.

Oh sh1te. Best of luck with this and hopefully it's not long for you. If the dealer has access to a stock new ICCU you're in with a chance, but I'd be checking if the warranty terms on the part include some sort of mobility assistance while your car is off the road.

My 22 blew last month, similar situation 2am charging.
I still had level 3 charging so was able to arrange a day the following week to be looked at.
It was assessed on a Friday, they had the part on the following Tuesday and was done in less than 3 hours that week

I think they are actually holding stock in Ireland now whereas in early 2025 when mine went I'd to wait for the part to come from Korea or China or somewhere which took about two weeks.

Changing the actual part is really fast.

That's reassuring. I'm due a call from the local dealers maintenance dept in the morning.

The car is currently at 60% SOC, so not concerned about being stranded. Although a few times each month I get home with 6% SOC which would leave me in a quandary as the nearest charger (EZO) is currently out of action and the next nearest is 15km away. I'm sure I'd make it if needed just not ideal.

Ironically I reduced the amps when I got the car for fear this would happen. The car was always charged at 6.2kW instead of the 7.2kW when going full throttle, yet it still happened.

No slots available until Thursday of next week :(

No joy getting a loaner. It's going to be awkward but I can borrow a car from Wednesday.
