Post on Facebook showing work has begun on the old Mill warehouse amd Dowds old fish shop off Church Street with some demolition etc to turn it into a hotel and restaurant. Glad to see visible progress finally as site was starting to look shabby and derelict.

I passed by the back of Quinlans (opening Summer 2023) last week and the gate was open. I only saw a flash but looks like a massive amount of work has been done there. It will be great to see that finally completed and reopened.

Someone who I would expect to have at least the most reliable rumour told me some time ago that they got well into the project before deciding they weren't happy with it and basically started over. I dunno whether this is the case or not.

was at the park festival earlier today it definitely looks like it’s been scaled down it’s not half as big as it used to be. Walked through it in about 15 seconds. Just a hand full of stalls etc. something I can’t get my head around is why a Kerry Co council event allows stalls to sale imitation guns some very convincing airsoft type ones. Saw them in one of the stalls during my walk through and then saw kids in town with some they had purchased. Noticed some American tourists going into the imperial hotel and even they were a little uneasy with the kids having guns on display. Very weird that the council openly allow that.

The council don't give damn, as long as they are getting their fee from the stall holder! The amount of crap being sold during the Rose of Tralee is as bad. Fake brands being openly sold on stands around the town. Its so tacky and I don't understand why they are allowing it?

As for the park festival itself, I didn't even realise it was on this weekend until I saw it yesterday evening. It has usually always fallen the same weekend as Father's day, so it threw me a bit.
