Grealish has been a huge loss, and the lack of quality at 9 is so urgent . Not sure who we will get , cause many teams will be looking for one over summer,

Completely flopped it since beating Chelsea.. Moyes brings stability but simply can't ever go to the next level.

West ham fans didn't want moyes, even after he took them to a European trophy. They eventually got their wish and look at them now...

we load Grealish for half the season and Branthwaite for most of the season. Our 2 best players gone.

If we had a decent right back O’Brien could have shifted inside and no more Keane.

I partly blame Moyes, but he did a decent job. I’m happy we weren’t worried.

This isn’t far off the same squad that had to fight relegation last season so I think Moyes has done ok.

Worrying fall off in last few games could be down to the squad size.

Grealish and KDH were great signings but the money wasted on Barry and Dibling is a worry.

Spent more wisely that money could have sorted the full back or striker problem areas and who knows where we would be

Very odd why Dubling hasnt worked out - rumours of homesick, got to be more than that , hopefully he pushes on next season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭wally79

He just looks slow and ponderous.

Could still come good but a lot of money to pay for what I’ve seen so far

Bad end to season, but overall huge progress has been made on and off pitch, Grealish loss was huge, hopefully we sign him up and Stones , but priority is a quality striker over the summer, Beto and Barry not good eneogh, Championchip level.

Stones seems like a risk on limited resources. Will be big wages and seems to have had injury issues

Does he need to be on big wages though? Like, i'm not sure who's going to offer him huge wages at this stage of his career, with his fitness record. Might be one where making a decent but fair offer early on is the way to go, and let him see if he can better it financially and socially (might maaaybe get a bigger offer from Galatasaray or something for instance, but does he want to move his family to Turkey for the sake of a marginal difference?).

If one of the European monsters comes in for him (Bayern, PSG, maybe Inter etc) then he'll probably end up there, but short of that I think Everton could offer a decent option without breaking the bank.

I think signing Stones is pointless, unless Moyes is convinced Jake O’Brien is our new right back. I hope to go not.

Over all, what a poxy end to the season.

A very Moyes end to the season. Snatch disappointment from the jaws of happiness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,251 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

Seems a lot of fans have turned on Moyes after that end to the season. Ran the same players into the ground all season and they ran out of steam.

Not giving younger players a chance not good either. George showed enough in his limited cameo's to deserve a few starts and got none.

The Liverpool game killed our season.Killed our momentum we were good that game then in typical Everton fashion shot ourselves. We need the right signings in now right full and a centre forward are definits. Get Stones,Delap and Grealish signed. My worry is Brantwaith cracking player but I feel he might to injury prone especially so early in his career has missed a lot of games.

I was never a huge Moyes fan, but watching the decline of West Ham , think he deserves another season, with a proven striker and judge him then.

We have been ordered to pay Burnley more than £35 million in compensation after being successfully sued over Premier League profitability and sustainability breaches from the 2021/22 season when the Clarets were relegated.

This is fucked up. Surely if Burnley are going to sue anyone over this then it should be the Premier League themselves?

There's about to be an enormous can of worms opened here!

Isn’t there a precedent for this, Sheff Utd sued WHU over the Tevez thingy.

Clubs suing clubs has been done before as you mention. This is specifically about PSR though, first time this type of case has occurred.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,202 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

the whole thing is disgusting to be honest… sporting advantage my backside.. the club transferred funds into the stadium build with the express awareness of the premier league..

Everton are probably amongst this decade's lowest spenders in top flight football

The problem is Everton admitted it didn't they? I know ye settled with us earlier in the season which was the £2m ye got for finishing above us.

    admitted what?

There was never any hidden dealings here. There was nothing to admit. The argument was a technical one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,227 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

100% , was used to build new stadium, under a different ownership, we got deducted points twice - sorry **** the Premier league commision and Burnley , meanwhile Man City ….. keeps the cartel in tact at all costs.

The ruling is being appealed but I can't see it being overturned.

£35 million is going to mess with our ability to wheel and deal in the transfer window...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,251 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

Highly likely the appeal will be successful and even if not I don't think the 35m will affect the transfer budget as it wouldn't fall under psr.

Course it should, Burnley are chancing ther arms, maybe they should get ther own house in order before suing another club, regarding a serious bullying incident.

Besides if this flies, where does it end, loads of legacy claims for various infringements . PSR is just a bullshit ruling, enabling City , Chelsea and the other big clubs, stay big , while strangling any new contenders - We were building a stadium, with rising costs, so hopefully common sense prevails.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 3,611 ✭✭✭SickBoy

What makes you think common sense will prevail in this instance? It didn't when we received the points deduction..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,227 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

I would just hope a new panel would have common sense, no ??

Rumours that City will raid us again, this time for Braintwaite, they have a 100 plus charges and just keep buying every decent player , yet we get points deductions and 35 million fines for buiding a stadium, meanwhile City just carry on spending, **** Premier league with PSR bullshit , nearly as corrupt as FIFA..
