3 minutes listening to that and can't take anymore

Yeah - same here - got one Tuesday I think. Still the usual 2 weeks wait, though. I wonder are they actually storing anything in Dublin - I'd have thought it's purely a distribution centre?

Did have one negative - my postie apologised when he delivered my package - grey plastic bag. Said it was open at the end when he found it - my guess is something fell on the bag and the air burst it open along the line of the end. Was missing 2 small ziploc bags with about €5 of stuff - some bike disk brake pads, and a wee selection of silicone bands for, well, Temu stuff that uses wee silicone rubber bands! The missing stuff was hardly likely to have been stolen, probably fell out somewhere.

Just report them as missing and they'll give you credit.

That's weird. My grey bag was also resealed with sellotape

I reported the missing bits. Got the credit (€5ish)a few minutes later - no hassle at all. Prob should have asked for refund cos I won't be ordering enough in the near future to cover the postage. But then some day I will idly start scrolling…

Does anyone know how the upcoming €3 charge on packages under €150 will work? I know it's per item, which will seriously curb temu shopping, but will we be charged the an post handling fee on top of that as well?

I just received a parcel I paid €60 for (with about €45 off in coupons) but it had about 20 items. That means my landing cost would have at least doubled!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,553 ✭✭✭✭muffler

Isnt the 3 Euro charged per package and not for the number of items in said package? That was my understanding but others might clarify.

My understanding is it it’s a random bag of crap from temu then it’s €3 per item but if you have 5 of the same thing then it’s €3 and from November this is meant to be changed to €5 when the admin fee is slapped on

Maybe temu will get around it by bulk shipping to Ireland 🤷 most of my deliveries come from Dublin

    The internet isn’t for everyone

Is there anyway to see what items are in their Dublin base

€3 per item will definitely put me off ordering from temu when it kicks in

And my oh might ease on her shien orders

The tax is added per parcel, but also "per distinct item."

In addition to the 3 euro Tax on items coming in from non-EU countries, there will also be a 2 euro handling fee coming in November!!

So, say you place a clothes order, and you get a pair of shoes and a t-shirt, then it's actually a 6 euro import fee. (plus 2 euros come November).

If the order is a pair of Jeans and a T-shirt, the argument can be made that it's all cotton goods, so it will stay the 3 euro tax.

Not sure if they can use catch-all terms like "Household goods", which would cover a lot of the stuff temu sells.

These are only temporary measures until 2028, when there will be a more robust tax system for each item rather than blanket charges.

Has anyone else noticed an unusually slow shipping time? I placed an order on the 19th, and it's still not shipped. My previous orders have never taken more than 3 days. I'm wondering what's happening with this one!

Nothing pre-ordered/personalised in that order. It has a delivery end date of May 6th, still stuck at "Picking in progress". Requested a "Speed Up" 2 days ago but still nothing. Weird!

Looks like they've increased their advertising budget 🤣🤣. It's a video but it would only allow me to take a screenshot.

Have not bought from Temu for eighteen months now..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,224 ✭✭✭✭The Continental Op

Just about to put in an order for a load of pound shop tat today. Only a couple of items are ones I need but I won't pay £5-£10 for an item from Amazon when I can get exactly the same one from Temu for €1.50.

Wake me up when it's all over.

I have not bought from Temu for over a year either, most things are just a dissapointment when they arrive. Interested in any real bargains for something where the genuine equivalent is dearer elsewhere, Amazon etc. I find there is usually a good reason Temu are cheaper, the product is one or more of the following, smaller, weaker, inferior quality, non compliant etc. Happy to find real deals on there if there are any suggestions.

I'm waiting for the next Aliexpress/Shein/Temu to tempt the euro outta my piggybank..

Depends what you're buying. My mother wanted some good quality resistance bands last week. A lot cheaper on temu for exactly the same product v Amazon. Always worth a check for stuff you dont need right away.

3 euro fee still coming in on 1st July?

    https://www.bonkers.ie/blog/personal-finance/eu-small-parcel-fee/

Bonkers mention that temu may just factor it into their prices. In that case hopefully we wont even notice any difference apart from probably slightly higher prices.

Wont put me off temu anyway.

They're seemingly already going EU "warehouse" route, avoiding the individual tax on items that the customer is being forced to pay from July

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,667 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

EU Warehouse postage costs are off the charts €7 from France bounced around France for a week no update and arrived this afternoon 10 days after purchase with no update since Friday.

Stuff from China gets here quicker with lots of updates on tracking.
