Different news outlets around EU are quick to highlight the extra €3 and the details are yet to be iron out, as some EU countries have decided to apply a 'national' tax on non-EU parcels , as they felt EU is dragging their feets on this subject.

Indeed , it seems it's €3 per unique item and not for the parcel .

ie : 'the flat tax will apply for each different type of item in a package. If one package contains 10 plushy toys, the duty is applied once. But if the shipment also contains a charging cable, another €3 is added'

If thats the case it will kill Temu - buying something for a euro or two and then having to pay another 3 euro.

I'm still not sure if this is on top of any customs now they are removing the €150 limit

Might open an EU warehouse. The EU must be their biggest market.

I was just looking at t shirts and it says arrives in the eu in as little as 4 business days

That's an absurd plan. Such form of taxtion will only hurt sale of very cheap items (bought in low quantities) such that won't be manufactured in the foreseeable future in the EU either way. It will not help local businesses at all. If that gets passed, next time I need e.g. a new USB cable, I'll order 3 of each type I could ever need and they can have my €3 and VAT, I'm still not buying them from Currys.

the plan may seem ridiculous but it’s just another money grab lsimilar to carbon tax, being part of the eu is not good for Ireland in my opinion

Ali have upped their game. Five days and it's cleared customs.

The minimum order amount on my account returned to E25 over Christmas, but have noticed many individual items are not increased in price. The E28 minimum order seems to have been an error.

is anyone else P*ssed off with Temu when they promise you 6 items at 0 etc etc and when you got to the bother of adding them, you are always just one cent behind, no matter what you order. Similar has happened the last couple of times i ordered too, I ordered thinking i was getting the deals and never got them.

    That's me finished with Temu

What's with the age verification, never asked before. Looking to get razor blades and they are looking for age verification and want a scan of my ID. Not a hope in hell I'm trusting my ID with them, don't care if it gets redirected to another site/vendor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,033 ✭✭✭✭OmegaGene

maybe it’s a legal requirement because it’s razor blades, if you don’t want to provide the id then go to dealz

That wouldn’t be something I would purchase from temu personally, you’ve no idea who the seller is or what safety standards they have met if any

I am unable to find any USB plug adapter in Temu anymore. Anybody have a leads? Usually would have got it under 2 Euros
. Same thing in Currys is 15 bucks

I wouldn't be trusting them - enough horror stories around!

Yes I blocked such notifications. The only discounts I consider are the ones where an item in my basket I actually want is reduced substantially.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 732 ✭✭✭chrisd2019

You sure its the genuine site, have ordered razor blades many times and never asked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 732 ✭✭✭chrisd2019

Most local phone accessory shops will have a cheaper version.

I ordered Stanley blades last week and had to upload my driver license for age verification. I got razor blades before and they were absolutely shocking. The worst quality stuff I've ever bought

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

It's a thing in the UK I think, even for razor blades. Might have gotten us confused.
