Yeah you have to also have an active GoMo mobile plan, new or existing. If you leave GoMo mobile at any point, the price for the broadband increases by €10pm.

Signed up for the €30 Pure offer. They're offering it to NBI customers.

Do I need to contact Sky and give my notice of cancellation? My contract has just entered the last 30 days.

Pure Telecom should have really asked you, did you give Pure Telecom your UAN?

Is the Pure Telecom switch date after the Sky contract end date?, if not you might be charged early termination charges as you would still be in contract.

You really should have waited until your contract had expired before making the move, Sky could well charge you their breakage fee.

I told the agent my contract wasn't up until the 18th June & gave her the UAN. There is no mention of a start date in the email I received from Pure.

Okay yeah maybe just get in contact with Pure and double check that the switch over date is the 19th June. You shouldn't need to give notice yourself if they switch you over using the UAN, it should be a self-install.

You don't have any other network available to you, do you? (open eir or SIRO). If you do, double check with Pure that they are definitely going to use NBI.

My contract with VF ends next month and I am switching to PureTelecom on the day my contract with VF ends. I already received the modem etc by courier. Just give PT the contract end date and they will send someone to switch on that date.

Signed up to GoMo, the idea of not having to mess about every year switching is great.

Did you give Pure Telecom your UAN? If not, they might just send an engineer out to change the ONT and you'd be left to cancel Vodafone yourself then, which would need one months notice. It should be a self-install if the UAN is given afaik.

I gave them my UAN. It was a 6 digit one and was told that currently I have the BB via VirginMedia line and have to change it to Eir line when I switch to PureTelecom. Eir UAN is an 8 digit one. So an engineer need to come on the switching date and do the installation. Thought VF was using an eir line.

You can ask Pure Telecom to cancel Vodafone for you for the switchover date. Otherwise if cancelling yourself, you'll need to give Vodafone a months notice.

I'm coming to the end of a 12 month contract with Digiweb next month, paying €37.95 for 1Gb with Siro. They've offered me £39.95 for another 12 months which I'm tempted to stick with as it's been rock solid & it avoids any changes.

Figured I'd check the sanity of my decision with the Internet hive mind 🙂

Any way of knowing if I pick virgin media deal on switcher.ie if that will be a siro install?

I'd prefer to just be able to swap routers for new service.

I'm currently out of contract with digiweb, and was on to them 2 weeks ago.

Best they offered me was €46/month, so I refused.

Will be joining Virgin media this weekend. They are offering me the 2GB for €45/month.

If Virgin coax or their own FTTP is available to you, they won't use SIRO. You can check the ComReg broadband checker here -

    https://www.comreg.ie/broadbandchecker/

If it's just SIRO available to you or SIRO & open eir, they'll use SIRO. They don't use open eir. They should ask for your SIRO UAN for the switch.

If SIRO & NBI is available to you, it could be either. You'd need to double check with them.

yeah you need to have sim with them. worth getting one as get tenner off the broadband and locked in no price changes. Considering Vodafone hikes them every April just for laughs.

In the end I decided to go with their offer, as tbh 1Gb is more than I really need.

    Via Siro as mentioned.

GoMo switched over this morning. Internet went down about 30 mins later it started working again. I haven't even plugged in the new router 😄.

    But all very smooth.

My contract with Pure expired at the end of Feb and I wanted to swap to Eir as Pure didnt to faster than 1Gbs on NBI.

Given I was going onto a 2 year contract with Eir, I wanted to avoid the annual April increase this year, which meant I had to defer signing up to Eir until March 1st. My service was cancelled on March 6th (I gave my 4 week notice to cover myself previous month).

I was charged the full out of contract price by Pure €50 for the month of March. On Friday I received a cheque in the mail from Pure for pro-rata refund for the unsused portion of the month (March 7th - 31st).

I didnt even contact Pure to request my money back (although when I cancelled they said this would happen automatically).

Great service form Pure. My experience with other telcos is that I have always had to request the credit to be refunded.

Although an internet company sending a cheque in the mail is so 2000s!

that’s great to hear, I’m out of contract with ours as we are moving and did wonder how long a refund will take, €70 a month for our 1gb out of contract 😢

    The internet isn’t for everyone

First speed test on GoMo connected to wifi and I got 501mb download.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,613 ✭✭✭wassie

Got the cheque in mail 20/04 - so about 6 weeks.

I think it needed to go through 1 full billing cycle post-cancellation.

    Hi guys.

I have question not about switching but staying with current supplier.

Next year if I decide to stay with with Vodafone what would be best time to extend contract?

Current contract expires 3/03/2027.I dont mind paying one month 3.50 extra so I presume I should be getting new contract in april 2027.

Every year vodafone match new client deal for but this year I forgot about this extra fee and extended contract in march and got stung with april increase for 10months🙈

My contract with eir is up end of this month. Sky have best offer of €30 per month (500gb)but I'm not moving to them. Have any current eir customers managed to get the new customer deal again i.e €34.99 per month plus €100 cashback..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,728 ✭✭✭NotShero

Yeah I'd presume you'll have to wait until April or maybe May to re-contract. That April's price increase is not applied when signing up from March with eir but that's not the case with Vodafone afaik.

If you have open eir FTTP, GoMo 500Mb is €29.99pm for life.

    https://shop.gomo.ie/broadband

If you have NBI instead, you could go with Pure Telecom 500Mb with One Big Switch for €30pm for 12m.

Switched to Gomo fibre. Not overly impressed so far. Wired LAN connections keep dropping. Wireless can be hit & miss too.

Sorry to hear that. I might stick with one of more established providers(apart from Sky)
