Had the Gin and then another and finished the chicken run this morning. Out now to cut half a mile of council verge which they no longer bother with.

Wake me up when it's all over.

When I commented on the drinks being a bit warm. I was told the boss switched off the cooler overnight!

I just got home from work, and before even going inside, I decided to sit out on the garden bench for a solar infusion of Vitamin D.

The trivial annoyance was going to be the overactivity of the birds in and around the 8 foot fuchsia bush beside me, but now realise they are not the real problem.

My neighbour, being the nice fella he is, decided to feed the birds with scraps of bread but obviously decided to let them have their banquet in my garden. (He wouldn't want them dirtying his garden.)

Bonus TA points to the blackbird who, before joining the gang of thrushes, perched on my bike's handlebars to defecate.

I suspect the people in the Colgate ad are AI. While I understand AI is the future, somehow I feel a bit annoyed about it in ads.

I paid €180 euros in Boots for a good electric shaver about 3 years ago. Noticed Boots are selling it now for €79.99…. Had to double check but it IS the exact same one. Silver and black Phillips series 3000…. Still have the receipt…begs the question as to what sort of colossal mark up they made on my purchase that they are still making money on selling them for a hundred quid less, around 55% less.. 🙄…. Not impressed.

Paid about that for a Philips 3000 donkies years ago. I'd want three for €180.

Good shaver though. I get replacement blades on AliExpress for a few quid, every bit as good as the original.

It might be getting discontinued so selling off at reduced price and they have a shiny new one out at a higher price than you paid originally. Seems to be a cycle with electrical consumer goods.

People wearing gaming headsets in public. You look like a gimp.

Bringing back all my bottles and cans, getting the voucher then always forgetting to use the voucher at the tills. Grrrrr

That's why I 're-turn' my stuff to Lidl. The money goes onto the Lidl app so there's no messing about with receipts. Not much good if you want the cash, though.

The trivial annoyance is having to bring them back at all, especially on a bike. 🚲️

People that drive their cars with the petrol or electric flap open. Also the people who drive around with the silly VW boot latch not properly closed - probably stuck open from a quick google. Why do VW persist with that complicated gimmick.

I applied for a job over 2 months ago. I never heard anything and had forgotten I even applied

Yesterday evening I received an email inviting me to an interview today. I only read it this morning. While that is good news I suppose how can a candidate possibly be ready with zero notice.

I was ignored for 2 months and am expected to be instantly ready ?? I asked to reschedule, maybe they will ignore me again, let’s see

Giant red flag, tbh. Do you want to work somewhere with such bad processes?

The "Green" strip on new EV Reg plates - another gimmick which says "oh look at me - i drive an eco friendly car"

I doubt it's limited to Ireland, but it's helpful in countries where access to certain parts of big cities is restricted to vehicles that don't pollute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,633 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

I originally thought that, but after a quick google turns you need special stickers for that e.g. in French cities and they likely also double check the reg. The green strip is a bit easy to fake so seems just be for show / promotion.

Another thing to watch out for if driving in any of the major French cities:

People putting meetings in the diary for 1.30. "It was the only time everyone was free" - yeah, because it's fcuking lunchtime! 🤬🤬🤬

That's actually a lot more than trivial, tbh.

I don't take breaks other than lunch, and you shouldn't really have to gatekeep that!

Of course not but it does make the point that you have an idiot in the company that is happy to ruin your lunch.

TA'd earlier. Parking in my local town is mostly along the main street, bits of which are under repair so spaces are limited. I drove down looking for a place to park, saw one two cars away, immediately indicated then moved slowly in the hopes that the car close behind me would get the hint. Pulled up ahead of the space to reverse in and … your man followed me sitting on the bumper so I could not reverse. Sighed and drove on, though I had to do a large circle round the town to have another go - though this time I got someone intelligent who paused and let me reverse into a space.

I've decided I'm no longer getting out of the way of people walking around with their heads in their phones, they can just walk into me. I'll have seen them coming so I won't be the one taken by surprise/knocked off balance. So fcuking sick of having to avoid people who are incapable of doing literally anything without their screen in front of their face.

Utility companies who cold call you and then won't proceed until you answer questions to confirm your identity. Sorry, you called me on a number you have me on record as owing, I confirmed when answering that it was me and you almost want me to submit a sample of my DNA before proceeding to be, most likely, given a sales pitch for something I didn't ask for? Well, you can f right off.

Tractors on the road. No not every tractor but those that drive 15 miles along the same backroad as me and never pull over to let the queue of cars behind them to pass.

Did it today for the first time, the look of amazement on a woman’s face when she came within a foot of me and realised.
