Half the country will be after it now you've advertised it on here!!!😁

    You “should” be able?

You should know before you decide as you have to apply and get approved beforehand. And that involves selecting which chargepoint you are getting installed.

Thanks for replies. Be great if someone could confirm they actually did trade in a banger with NCT and got the €2,000 off and whether they paid cash / pcp / HP.

I was told it comes off the deposit amount and I think that means you pay the same finance amount. I was told by Tesla you need to have at least 1 month of valid NCT. So if you put a deposit down now the next shipment is not due to arrive until September or October. Will the banger you buy today still have at least one month NCT come Sept or October?

I suppose you ensure it does to be safe.

4-5 months wait time from ordering? That is a bit grim 😯

New model 3 standard with Sunwoda cells instead of CATL appears to be the model 3 to get if it comes to Europe. 250kw charging and 0 to 60 in 5.x seconds. This is the version going to Canada and is selling for a lower price than before. Various sources saying 29 to 31k us dollars in Canada. These cells appear to be as good as the 4680 cells are bad.

You'd want to see the heap I left in with Tesla - I genuinely didn't think it would make it 😅 I don't know how it had an NCT as it was riddled with rust, driver's door didn't open, couldn't be locked, major bodywork dents, engine light on, and speedo didn't work.

Curious though, why order now and not on or before March 31st for the much bigger discount?

I think that’s the LR RWD already sold here in Europe that has 0-100 timing of 5.2 sec & 250kw charging speeds.
Tesla have been extra generous to sell a high spec car at their lowest price point in Canada, perhaps to gain market share quickly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,062 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

That LR RWD is gone from the Irish site recently though, isn't it?

Think the price point was off - 6k more than the 64kwh LFP model, which was probably the sweet spot.

Buying a Tesla is like buying a house off plans. What you expect and what you get might vary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,062 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

    🤔

Exactly which Tesla of yours turned out not to be exactly what was advertised when buying?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 430 ✭✭SummerK

Model 3 LR RWD is still there for 45k.

Model Y LR RWD (Basic spec) was removed recently from Irish site.

I have never owned a Tesla. I work with those who do and it is well known to those who know where to look that Tesla regularly change specifications in meaningful ways both positively and negatively without informing the buying public.

None but the guy in the pub/ guy in work/ guy at the gym said they were no good so that's gospel as far as I'm concerned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 442 ✭✭tppytoppy

Quite the f*cking contrary. Based on verifiable information the best model 3 standard range that ever was built may be available to purchase and if it reaches Irish shores you might be able to get one at a good price with low interest rates. August or September might be the right time to buy for those in the market to buy at that time.

That literally doesn't make any sense.

Finance offers are not part of the spec of a vehicle.

Ordered a Tesla March 31st, drove it home April 27th. Easiest sales and collection experience of any I've personally witnessed.

Sorry…Model Y yes, LR rwd version gone a few weeks after its debut.

Ok. I will be accused of being condescending but here you go; Sunwoda battery equiped model 3 from China is very good and Tesla usually has attractive sales incentives toward the end of a quarter.

With other manufacturers you usually know the calendar week of production when specification changes but with Tesla you are kept in the dark.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,062 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

You need to try harder than that I'm afraid.

Was in Tesla Swords today and the lady confirmed the website needs to be fixed; the €36484 is inclusive of SEAI.

Another question and excuse my ignorance as I haven't financed a car before! If the wait for your car is 8 weeks+ after giving the €250 deposit, when does the finance application start and the bulk deposit have to be paid?

RTE news : Tesla in talks with Irish Govt on self-driving approval

    http://www.rte.ie/news/business/2026/0510/1572395-tesla-ireland-fsd/

Not sure if this will change pricing but interestingly it states that Tesla have said FSD is crucial to increasing sales in Europe as sales in Europe are down 28%.

Also perhaps some were aware already but if you intend to keep it long-term and wanted enhanced autopilot probably best to buy it now for €3,800.00 as as of May 21st this will move to a subscription model only.

I personally prefer it but not sure I would even bother. I decided to stick with order for model 3 LR. It's coming in at 47k if I keep the offer from March which won't include any trade bonus but interest is 0%. The alternative is I switch to Apr-Jun offer, get the ,€2000 trade bonus but interest is at 1.99%. I'm still pondering the best option.

Anyways for the price I think enhanced driving should be included with LR already but I guess they knew this subscription model was on the way.

That's what I was told when I wondered changing my order to Standard a week ago. Considering current delivery time is between 23rd May and 8th June, I would say if you are told it will be September order it probably more likely be middle of October.

The Iran conflict has caused delays to production is what I was told in Tesla Swords.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 815 ✭✭✭This is it

It's generally towards the end of the quarter, so September more likely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,377 ✭✭✭lightspeed

By normal I assume you mean before the Iran conflict?

Looking at today's news they are no closer to resolving the conflict and if oil reserves start running out, could be even later than October.

These 2 inventory cars are all on the boat coming in the next week or two. The demo car is here now.

In relation to trading in a car, typically how many days does Tesla take to come with an offer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,062 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

Provisional offer usually within 3 days, but final offer can be indeterminate. Depends to a degree if you're trading something actually worth a few bob to a trade buyer, or a junker which can get forgotten about.

I had to push Tesla on my POS trade in recently - all the way up to the day before delivery. Think the sales agent just ticked the worklow box with a low ball figure to make sure the sale went ahead.

It was a POS so it didn't really matter, but I'd have been nervous if it was something that actually had a value and someone was still deciding etc.
