    Absolutely brilliant game.

Three of the wide forwards on view are destroying their direct opponents, and the fourth missed a relative sitter

Both teams will be out of gas for the second half. Like a basketball match

For all its hype You just don’t get games like this in EPL.

I don't get the picture quality thing. I have honestly never paid any attention. It's some lads and a ball I don't need high definition.

2 fine goals from PSG and some great chances on both sides.

The attacking in this game is just brilliant. The pace, direct running, forward passing etc.

It's actually a joy that it's not on English or Irish TV as if it was, it would be non stop complaining about a missed chance or 'the full back out of position' etc etc. They love to centre on the negatives.

Either of these teams would destroy arsenal tbh

This is fantastic stuff. Best game I have seen since Madrid Bayern a couple of weeks ago.

Love it when 2 teams go out to score as many as they can.

Tomorrow night will be like a different sport.

How did so many scouts miss out on Olise. That could be a pen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,589 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

Harsh if given , prob only cause hand moved towards ball. I don’t like that

pen to psg. not for me. and dembele defo kicked it at davies trying to induce a handball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 440 ✭✭Bocadilloo

His hand was behind his back, came out and went back behind his back as soon as he's handled it. Was always going to be given.

This should be a final, some game.

    Terrible penalty decision

Has there ever been a better 45 mins of football?

How did Arsenal, Chelsea and city all let him leave their youth systems?

    Fantastic entertainment.

Both teams wide open at the back (so I certainly wouldnt rule out either Arsenal or Atleti) but the attacking play is superb, both teams playing with huge confidence going forward.

Pity about the BS penalty decision on half time. But great that we have 3 more halves to come

On Premier Sport it's all talk about how amazing it has been.

Correct decision. He shot his hand out from behind his back.

It's a shame these teams are not in the final. The two most attractive teams this season and have been excellent again tonight.

Dont like the penalty decision. I know its given in Europe, but should be universal between the leagues and European competition. Having different threshold depending on competition, is just nonsense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,589 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

it’s an awful decision, might be technically correct but if your hands are effectively by your side , it really should not be a peno even if you’ve moved your hands to your side. Handball rule should be more about obvious handballs. A normal position to play is hands by side, a defender shouldn’t have to keep their hands behind their back, that’s unnatural.

I get it was given cause hands moved from back to side but it’s nonsense

Enough entertainment in one half to cover what most ties have in 2 legs. Amazing stuff. The football in some of these Champions League games has been outstanding once the big clubs, outside England, have got going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,655 ✭✭✭The Rooster

It’s 100% a bad decision whether in England or Europe. The rule is you don’t have to have your hands behind your back. By your side is fine. So while his hands moved, they only moved to a natural position. And whatever doubt anyone might have on that, becasue the movement looked bad, the fact that the ball deflected off his thigh onto his arm makes it a cast iron non-penalty. Officials facked up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,340 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Never a penalty. It hit his leg and bounced up to hit his arm.

Even with var ref couldnt spot that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 440 ✭✭Bocadilloo

Is this pace gonna continue or will they both get cagey

Ide have lots of things different including no VAR in an ideal world. But having seen my team get penalised for far less I would definitely expect that penalty if I was a PSG fan. That's definitely a penalty by the current interpretation of the game.

I don't believe this Europe vs England thing. Interpretation of the rules is all over the place game by game across the leagues.
