Today is the first fairly nice day in Tralee since Monday. Tues, Wed,Thurs were chilly and overcast. Today has been quite bright which is nice but starting to get cloudier now. However it is still very breezy here. You guys in Dublin may have been lucky enough to shake off that persistent wind but not here.

Other Tralee posters might be more positive about today. But I'm happy enough overall as the break from rain since last weekend has been wonderful. I see in the above post some 20C around which is great. Here 17-18C is probably accurate but feels chilly in the breeze. Not summer clothes weather yet for me.

Today looks like the peak of the warmth for western areas, tomorrow should be the peak of the warmth for Dublin/eastern areas and back to fairly typical temperatures for time of year from Sunday but thankfully the dry weather goes on until next Friday where more unsettled conditions is likely to come back next weekend. First week of May is trending cool and possibly unsettled but that is along way away.

Up in Sligo and Donegal for a few days. Glorious weather. I can confirm it's 21C in the Barnesmore Gap with no snow. Best country in the world when we get the weather.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

A mild night out west , Newport Co.Mayo 14 degrees at 11pm. Phoenix park down to 4 degrees . The Phoenix park however should do very well tomorrow, might squeeze a 23 out of it.

The past few days have really hit home again just how much I hate the winter months (or the whole October - March period really). Just a completely different energy and mood opening the curtains to blue skies, brightness, vibrant colours and warmth these past few days

Looks like a band of rain moving up alright. Cloudy here in north Longford. I was looking at a rainbow here earlier, but the rain seems to have moved west of us. 7c with bright spells but dark cloudy periods also so far.

It is showing rain on the radar where I am in the midlands but no actual rain is falling...usually it's the opposite! Hopefully it will all clear off and the sun comes out in the late morning.

Very localised downpour this morning in Kildare

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,750 ✭✭✭highdef

Not too localised. Showers are widespread in many parts of Leinster and the Midlands this morning.

Cloudy morning. 5C in Leitrim. Very dark sky to the south west of my location. Someone's getting a lot of rain I'd venture. The wind has relented at last.

Inside 20 mins of that post the rain has started here

Clouds of mainly the alto cumulus level became undulated looking and quite dense in places towards evening and although it looked like it was raining from afar they only produced shafts of virga with no rain recorded here near Tralee. Overcast mid level cloud again this morning at 13C and near calm for a change.

Basically a brief shower wetting the surface, earlier in north Offaly. Weird clouds, the ones you see in mid summer with approaching thundery rain. But very little here, though it's calm and close.
