2fm - New schedule coming

The lunchtime slot hasn't had a stable host since 2016.

Laura Fox has signed off today from the mid-morning show, but just to think since Jerry Ryan has anything of note happened on any of the shows that succeeded him? Have any of the hosts made any kind of impact, not just to audience but in general.

He didn't have the late morning slot in 2fm, only radio 1.

Tubridy eventually took over the 2FM mid morning slot when gerry ryan died (after colm and lucy filled in).

His 2 stints on 2FM were 2002 - 2005 (breakfast) and 2010 - 2015 (mid morning)

Any news on a new RTÉ Gold schedule?

I'm probably in a tiny minority, but i really liked Tubridy when he was on 2fm.

Any views of the new schedule?

Louise Cantillon on Today FM, Barry Dunne on 98fm, Tara Murray on Fm104, Marty Millar, Dee Woods on Nova, Trína Mara, Damian Farrelly on Classic Hits. Take your pick

Not sure about the logic of having a co-presenter with Laura Fox. She's been on her own for the last 5 or so years.

So I listened back to the breakfast show yesterday and today and first hour stinks of prerecorded

I have heard the breakfast show and the early afternoon show and, IMO, I thought they were poor.

The breakfast show comes across as DESPERATELY trying to be funny and be the "craic" and having "banter" or is it "bants"? Not a fan.

The early afternoon show was terrible. The content is awful and childlike. Again, it comes across as trying so hard, which I do understand as the presenters want to do their best and be successful but it's not working, again IMO.

I think we could see ANOTHER schedule shake up in 12 months or less.

I also feel sorry for some of the presenters. They've been put in roles that don't suit them / or are too big for them. What are 2fm thinking? Who are they targeting? What demographic?

It's like a mix of a student radio station where some people are learning on the job and "Sure we'll throw someone in with a bit of a profile to see if that gains some traction. Radio experience? Nooooo. Sure that's not needed"

The state broadcasters No. 2 channel with some of the best most polished hosts in years gone by, and now this is the best that they can come up with?

My one day in the car for work and thought I’d see if breakfast show was still prerecorded and it was. Even a bad mistake was they went on yesterday’s show. What’s the point on saying 6-10 if first hour is just prerecorded

They gave out the first question beforehand to get people to call in
