Yes, I know your oaths are to the constitution of the United States rather than to Donald Trump personally, or the office of POTUS. If you (or any other serving member of the US Armed Forces) took those oaths seriously, Donald Trump would be dead or imprisoned. You're even legally protected from doing so under the second ammendment of the constitution.

The Constitution has provisions for removal or imprisonment, but I don't see "the military can conduct a coup if necessary" as a part of it. Also, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with the subject, perhaps you need to read the Constitution yourself instead of imagining what you think it says and what the obligations for supporting and defending it are.

If anything, with seniors getting the boot, Manic is probably in line for promotion soon :-D

I never really got the "resign in protest" argument, I always found it apathetic… if anything it should be "be the change you want to see"… if you get sacked in the process, so be it.

Doesn't have to be a revolution, an unfortunate weapons malfunction around Trump would be a good start.

No, my question was what would USA do if Iran bombed it's oil refineries.

Ukraine seems to be helping the usa Israelis now.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/06/ukraine-zelenskyy-iran-war-help-us-israel-fight-drones

USA ally Israel has reportedly killed over 20,000 children. Zelenksy was elected with the support of the Israeli Ігор Коломойський

Iran is an enemy of Ukraine. They made the first move by providing weapons to kill Ukrainians. Why would we be salty if Ukraine helped the other enemies of Iran protect it's airbases. It's not like Ukraine won't be getting anything in return to help it defeat Russia.

No, my question was what would USA do if Iran bombed it's oil refineries.

    Noone cares about your "question".

Silly tankie logic as per usual from you. Lacking in any sort of nuance.

Zelensky doesn't have the luxury of morally grandstanding against the US or its allies past trangressions. If he did then he and the entire Ukraine would be the most morally correct nation of dead people.

Also it's worth pointing out that the article you linked doesn't actually mention Ukraine giving anything to Israel.

Various countries, including the US, have approached Ukraine for help in defending against the Iranian drones, Zelenskyy said late on Wednesday. He said he has spoken in recent days to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait about possible cooperation

But of course it's not entirely surprising that you're not even checking the sh*te you post.

USA ally Israel has reportedly killed over 20,000 children.

I've said it before but it bears repeating. I do think Israel are committing genocide and I think Bibi should be in the Hague. You're not gonna find much support for Israels actions on the Ukraine thread. But for some reason you've never been able to extend the olive branch in the other direction.

Putin was literally live on TV with Lvova Belova in discussion about lifting Ukrainian children from the occupied territories. He was stupid enough to admit to the genocide himself. But we never hear a peep from you about that.

Im wondering if I can short circuit your brain into some right frame of mind. Here look, a pair of genocidal murderers yes? You'd agree?:

The provisions for removal of a president don't work when Congress members are afraid of retribution and violence aginst their familes from the administration for enacting them (and with good reason given the attack on Paul Pelosi and assassination of Melissa Hortman and shooting of John Hortman and his wife). Yes, I know that there's no record of Trump ordering these attacks but it's not exactly the type of thing one keeps records of.

He proved himself to be a domestic enemy of the USA and it's constitution on January 6th (and has repeatedly violated that constitution ever since).

I'd argue that the second ammendment offers a defence to an assassinatin of Trump as the figurehead of a tyrannical government i.e. the very reason American citizens have the right to bear arms and organise militias. A "militiia" could comprise of as few as two members for such a defence. Feel free to disagree with this opinion as it's something that would need to see a court judgement to see if it would hold up.

You still haven't answered the main question though: why are you still prepared to serve a tyrant when that puts you in the position where you can be ordered to go commit war crimes in order to distract the public from evidence of his paedophilia?

If every officer with a moral compass in the US Armed Forces were to resign their commission it would absolutely cripple the administrations ability to wage it's illegal wars.

If we assume the officer corps are representative of the US electorate, only 1 in 3 of them actually support the tyrant they serve so we could estimate those with a moral compass to be two thirds of those ranks. One could be less generous and look at the stats that roughly 61% of those who say they have served in the US military or military reserves supported Trump in 2024 but that number includes former service members (likely a large amount of whom would be boomers conscripted for Korea or Vietnam) and doesn't distinguish between officers and enlisted and given that officers are far more likely to be educated than the rank and file (and therefore more likely to recognise Trump for the danger to the USA that he is) I think it's fair to assume that the numbers would be more likely to be closer to the general population.

A genocidal murderer with warm relations to Zelensky on the left. A psychopath on the right.

    Zelensky = Putin = psychopath

Russia v Ukraine is nothing to do with us.

    Support Ukrainian refugees, yes.

    Support the war, no.

Russia v Ukraine is nothing to do with us.”

”Israel vs <whoever they attacking this week>” has nothing to do with us, yet it’s not stopping you opining in any number of parallel threads /s

And since Ireland was directly threatened and attacked and is suffering from consequences of Putin’s imperial war of conquest and colonialism it does relate to us

This attempt at both sides is nothing short of pathetic

And you don't think that would enormously degrade America's military capabilities?

It's been discussed on this thread many times that one of the reasons Russia are faring so poorly is their lack of a capable officer corps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,727 ✭✭✭Virgil°

I don't know where you're getting these "warm" relations from. Apart from some statement from Zelensky condemning Oct 7 or some silly conspiracy you've got rattling around in your head.

    Zelensky = Putin = psychopath

Again I've no idea where you're getting this from? Putin is literally on stage live on TV admitting to stealing thousands of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories. Textbook genocide. I'd love to see anything remotely approaching that severity from Zelensky. It seems to me like you're just making things up. Like the link you posted earlier that didn't say what you said it did. Have we just moved on from that now?

Russia v Ukraine is nothing to do with us.

Israel vs Lebanon/Palestine is nothing to do with us.

    Support Ukrainian refugees, yes.

You say this. But what you're advocating for(pulling aid from Ukraine) is undeniably the most surefire way to create 10's of millions more Ukrainian refugees. I'm really unsure how you don't see this. Do you think Putin will simply stop if Ukraine suddenly can't defend itself?

    Support the war, no.

Rape excusing , victim blaming Bothsidesism. Nothing more.

    "Zelensky = Putin = psychopath"

There was a time when Orwell Rd. would foster a bit of creativity in their signals propaganda. We would be regailed with updates of Cauldrons, teased with breathless orations of vaporware talks in Istanbul, and be bemused with various fora of Twitter shill accounts from far and wide.

But no longer….no more Cauldrons….no more "Azov Brigades"….no Alaska / Budapest / Istanbul to wax lyrical about…those days are over and Orwell have to make do with what is left.

I wonder about the days after Ukraine win this. Will we feel nostalgic about dealing with this Orwell nonsense? Life can be weird like that sometimes. I hope for a better tomorrow for Ukraine, where we can afford to be nostalic…without it costing the Future.

Look I respect your opinion that it's nothing to do with us but most Irish like myself stand in unity with our European cousins. There are conflicts all over the world, many of which most Irish don't even know are happening because they genuinely don't care enough. But a war on the continent of Europe we certainly care about especially when it involves a colonial power looking to expand. We haven't forgotten the British empire that quickly.

Also, in parallel analogs, they start wars and do stupid things in them...

The thing stopping Russia is men, kit, logistics and funding....

Don't get me wrong, having crappy leaderships exacerbates this hugely, but doesn't stop it.

This happening in the US military, would probably end up with multiple Ukraine and Iran type wars, at once, over many years, in one massive pissing contest.

There was also a hit in Crimea, another location I've forgotten and quite a few AD hit last night. Haed to keep track.

I think the Orwell Road lads packed up long ago and it's only desperate tankie posts we're seeing now. Russia knows the game is up in Ukraine, too many headwinds.

    Anyone who places Zelensky

    - a preforming artist turned politician who was democratically voted into power to tackle systemic Russian -inspired corruption and who was in power a wet week when Putin illegally invaded Ukraine,

    - on the same level as a war mongering, media silencing, opposition murdering, democracy crushing, corruption enabling, war crime apologist, whose career is entirely based within the Soviet and Russian secret police apparatus , who has been in power for over a quarter of a century,

    - does not deserve to be taken seriously and should count themselves lucky that this is a moderated discussion forum that doesn't permit personal abuse. Because if ever I saw a post that deserved it…

Congratulations on saving everyone a lot of time on this.

Putin walked away from the huge mansion near the Black Sea, spent millions, not happy with aerial security.

    I can't believe I've been so blind.

Rape victim trying to defend herself = Putin = Psychopath

The world makes much more sense now. Thanks @engineerws. Post of the month surely.

This will take some topping though

Russia v Ukraine is nothing to do with us.

    Support Ukrainian refugees, yes.

I think this has been jumped on by a few posters but they fail to see the genius. How about -

Treat road crash victims, yes but

Invest in research for motor vehicle safety? nothing to do with us as Ireland has no large car manufacturers.

Hmm, maybe not. I'd momentary flash of inspiration there but it's gone :( I'm not clever enough for those mental gynmastics. But please do keep inspiring us to be better.

It’s good when a poster shows their real self so you know they actually support Putin but have to pretend there’s no difference between the president of an invaded country and the invaders president.

Whoever shared the Zelensky interview few days back

    thank you!

I finally got chance to listen in full and wow considering English isn’t his first language he sure is a lot more articulate and thoughtful than certain other leaders
