    This time last year many of us were waiting to be called for the first intake for end of April '25. Even up to the day of the intake! Hopefully we will get word soon 🤞🤞🤞. October's group must be attesting soon 🤔, might open the doors then for third group.

    Wow, hard to believe it’s already been a year. The first GR intake last April (250) had 17 trainees, which seems close to the minimum needed to run a class. Since then, only another 14 have been called for training (251). Hoping to see some movement soon, though no word yet on the first 2026 intake.

    Ide say May intake is close to full now.

    Next possible intake date Mon 27th July or Mon 3rd Aug.

    I'm not aware of there being a GR intake in May, as we would of likely heard, although there is a FT intake

    I rang the other day and was told (yet again!) That my file is still in vetting stage. I asked if I would be let know either way when it's complete and they said yes. I also asked when the next intake is and she said sometime this year but no immediate plans. I asked if this competition can expire just like if placed on a panel and she said no. So still a long waiting game I'm afraid.

    No offence to everyone posting here as I know it's meant with good meaning, but can we stop with the "I hope we hear something soon" and "has anyone any updates" posts? It's been the bulk of the comments since the start of this campaign!

    Yup. And that's what I said what I thought!

    It's just disheartening when you see such regular activity on this thread and then each time there's no news. It's not anyone's fault here.

    Has anybody been contacted about the garda reserve recruitment. All my relations are being have been checked out going back 100 years. I’ve rang to enquire and got an email asking me to refrain from contacting the office!

    I was in contact with a minister this morning who is going to enquire directly to the minister for justice. Shame seeing people drop off . Less than 300 in vetting now. Youd imagine with ireland taking the eu presidancy there would be a push on. I have everything done and vetting been processed since last year but no station interview yet but as ex defence forces with 10 overseas missions I expected would be a while but not this long. Once I get a reply will update

    Fair play, everyone is in the dark, any update would be welcomed. Back in March this year, 228 was announced via Oireachtas as number of candidates in vetting, this may now be closer to 200. Of the 1800 applications that the competition attracted into stage 1 back in 2024, close to 90% are no longer under consideration. 31 have been called so far collectively through intake 250 and 251

    Initial indications were for 1000 GR to be trained, which was revised to 300, although it would appear that there is not enough active candidates under consideration to hit this number so it's anyone's guess what happens next.

    be amazing to see some of ye called up .

    i did drive past the college yesterday i see a lot of the recruits out walking at lunch time . all happy and laughing amongst each other was lovely to see .

    the coffee shop in the town makes a killing from

    the collage by the looks of it lol

    Most of that drop off would of been during earlier rounds, most medicals will be expiring now so will be interesting to see how this piece develops
