What time does the Hill match start up again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 214 ✭✭Spiderpig92

    5pm to a finish.

Gilbert's scoring has been phenomenal - 141 today and 12 consecutive frames with a 50+ break against Crowley, Hill will need to withstand an onslaught to get the job done today but he's more than capable so fingers crossed.

7 of the 8 games are 5-4 after the first session. Yuelong 6-3 over Holt the only one with a bigger lead.
(Fairly sure I posted much the same thing this day last season).

Judgement days are some of the best days in the snooker year. As good as a couple of days in the Crucible really.

For drama, the stories unfolding and the 'round the grounds' coverage.

Not to be for Aaron Hill.

But he has had a good season overall. And Dave Gilbert is a man for a good run at the Crucible.

Unless it was a joke because Hendon was late showing up.

My history teacher would announce a student coming into the class late by saying "and now we have the late El_Duderino, joining us". It was a decent joke to be fair.

Probably just a mix up though.

When the qualifiers are decided, will there be an open draw between the top 16 and qualifiers or isn't here a formula to decide first round matches?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,697 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Open draw between 1-16 and 16-32. ie none of the top 16 play each other in R1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,540 ✭✭✭eeepaulo

its not an open draw amongst the top 16, if they win the first game its 1 v 16, 2 v 15 etc

if they win the first round……

    Zhao Xintong v
    Ding Junhui v

    Xiao Guodong v
    Shaun Murphy v

    John Higgins v
    Ronnie O'Sullivan v

    Chris Wakelin v
    Neil Robertson v

    ------------------

    Kyren Wilson v
    Mark Allen v

    Mark Williams v

    Mark Selby v
    Wu Yize v

    John Higgins v                                                    Ronnie O'Sullivan

El classico of snooker in the last 16. Best of 25, will be scheduled for the 2nd weekend on the BBC.

Sorry meant just for the first round vs qualifiers.

Ronnie vs Higgins would be nice!

Ronnie, good Dublin man these days.

Only the 2 Belgians letting me down so far. A lot of tight matches though

Pretty convincing wins all round this evening bar the Wilson match at 8 all.

Jak Jones seems to be in good shape, he might go far again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,119 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

Disappointing for Bingham, Brecel and Lisowski to miss it.

And Thepchya considering he won the World Open recently.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,119 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

11 Chinese out of the 32 now. More than one third.

Hopefully Jones will have more belief in himself if he gets on a run again. The time he got to the final v Wilson he was just happy to be there.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

No that’s them all. Moody seems to be around ages already to me. So I wouldn’t have got that one.

Thought you meant Moody as that was who was mentioned in the post above you.

I can see the name 'He' causing mass confusion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,389 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

So many good matches there. It is a long way from the days where. You wouldn’t pay much heed to this round Hendry v Charlton etc.

He v O’Sullivan and Wilson v Moody are ones that look interesting. Will see how the probably best of the debutants perform under the pressure.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Zhao vs Ding in the 2nd round would be a massive deal in China, but Ding has to get past Gilbert who seems to be going into the tournament in great form.

There were all sorts of 'shocks' for the seeds in recent years. You automatically go with the seed, but could be 5/6/7 qualifiers go into the last 16.
