Ohh you went fancy with mushrooms & prawns. I just had basic fish mix & some mussels in mine (& the small bit of veggies).

Served it with toasted sourdough slices with raw garlic rubbed over it. Don't know where I got that idea from, but it sure is tasty

I had chowder and shop bought prawn cocktail.

I love seafood. My dad was a good bread maker, i regret not learning some things from him.

We had fish in the freezer that I got from Lidl with an orange offer sticker the other week. The other ingredients were left over from the weekend.

Smoked haddock, salmon, prawns, sweet corn, potatoes, spring onions, mushrooms, milk, cream, pretensious sprig of parsley from the garden, and bit of garlic from a tube.

Gochujang, Sausage & Chestnut Mushroom (& shadows for extra oomph).

Not too keen on the Gochujang flavour here. I did like the little bit of heat though and you can't go wrong with mushrooms & pasta so it end up being tasty enough.

It was nice & creamy even though it looks a little dry in the bowl

Shadows are the bloody curse of the dinner thread. 🙄😉

    🤣🤣

I have to light this thing up some nights to keep the food warm while I'm trying to get an angle without shadows.

Garlic pizza bread, chips and onion rings.

No reflex needed here. He appeared beside me almost the second I cut the first slice! His Pavlov response is the butter dish lid being lifted!

Last of the left over brisket this evening. Definitely doing a piece on the bbq soon.

    Last night's dinner, spag bol.

    1000017352.jpg

Tonight, striploin steak, roast spuddies, peas, mushrooms and mushroom and pepper sauce.

    Twas fair tasty..

The ratio of spud to meat may look alarming, but my love for a roastie knows no bounds.

    Some lovely crust on that.

Excellent looking roasties, and I would carb up far more tbh!

    Omelette and peas.

Looks like nausea, but it'll do.

I cropped out the dreaded shadows.

A meal of shame. Everything here has been bought processed and just heated.

The frozen buffalo wings from Lidl were disgusting, horrible flavour off them. Avoid.

BBQ ribs and frozen wings from Aldi were good.

We had this today, pork, pasta, some herbs and spices, onion, garlic and mushrooms.

It was all good when prepping mushrooms onions and garlic..

My second deputy chef woke up

    1000005632.jpg

You can hardly imagine the difficulties to transfer the meat to the pan and cook it, but I made it!

    1000005634.jpg

Won't share any more details of that struggle, because

Mon - roast lamb, veg, spuds, gravy.

Tues, Weds - Mash, rashers and gravy.

    Thurs - Supermacs.

    Today McDonalds.

This hasn't been a great week for dinners in our house. Illness and not knowning if we were coming or going some days.

From tomorrow onwards we'll be back to normality and proper dinners will be on the menu. Looking forward to it as I've missed cooking and missed nice homemade meals.

My version of Moules marinière, with the addition of a little finely chopped red chilli. Not too much, just enough for a little gentle heat.

I find mussels are a food I can never get too full from, I could probably have cleared that pan myself given the opportunity.

Every time I make it I comment that I don't know why we don't have it more often. It's so simple, and relatively cheap to make.
