Below is a quote from that article. Not sure how he suggests commuters get into the city if the bus terminates at Heuston? The Luas is already at capacity when it reaches Heuston at peak times. Pushing more passengers too it won't help

In an interview with The Irish Times, CIÉ chief executive Stephen Kent said he has had conversations with the National Transport Authority (NTA) about an “intermodal opportunity” at Heuston.“It is a fantastic historic train station with a Luas outside the door. But it is probably suboptimal in relation to buses,” he said.

According to Kent, not all buses passing by the station may have to go all the way down the quays into the city centre.“You could have turning [facilities] and it could be a great intermodal. I know the NTA would have plans for looking at a potential bus interchange.”

busses that are passing by both stations on their way to wherever stopping for interchange is fine.

termination of buses at heuston though is stupidity, as said the luas is beyond capacity and most will either want to go to the city centre or the airport.

i bet redevelopment will equal selling off any remaining sidings and storage within both stations, you can thank me later.

which? just stopping for interchange or termination at both stations?

termination of buses at both stations wouldn't make sense even with dart underground TBH.

stopping on the way to their final destination however might make sense if there are passengers say, wanting to go somewhere on the luas line out of the city as an example.

Set 3 was delivered with it's battery packs removed as it will only be used for EMU testing ahead of the 80000 class deliveries. Once complete of its testing duties it will have its new battery packs fitted are revert to being a BEMU unit.
