Could you setup a second user login for the app, and then use that for HA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭ptogher14

I don't really have the knowledge to answer that. The first solis integration I installed was the Modbus one. It worked fine from a HA point of view but lost visibility via the app. Had I read the documentation thoroughly before I installed it I would of known that. The documentation references the fact you will lose visibility via the app unless you are using a waveshare device.

What do you need for the modbus integration hardware wise? I've wired Ethernet to the inverter

Nothing, its available on Github. At first I thought it was the only integration that would give any control

Looks like the solis control integration is back up and running. The sensor one is still out of action

Is there Bluetooth on that Solis Gear?

I have a Solis F2000 power station, I looked at reverse engineering the BLE payloads and they look straight forward enough, may be different for the home batteries/inverters though.

I'm getting in Eco-Flow Home batteries and Inverter for the house.

Yea second one is back now

There is a nice integration for Ecoflow that works over BLE, all local. I use it for one of their portable/UPS batteries but I think it supports the big ones as well.

Hi, for anyone here using influx DB. Where do you configure what sensors you are recording. I installed the integration and by default it seems to be logging everything. I believe previously it appeared in the config yaml and was configured there. Appreciate any advice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭cromelex

You can still configure the sensors in the configuration.yaml , they moved it to the UI but it allows the include/exclude to still be provided in the yaml.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭ptogher14

If it is logging all sensors by default, do I need to exclude all other sensors in the configuration yaml?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭cromelex

I'll have a look at mine when I get the chance and try to share.

If I recall correctly I have wildcard exclusions that remove most things, and then inclusions acting as exceptions. I might be remembering wrong.

Any detail would be appreciated. Trying to get my head around how to configure it

    Here's mine:

    influxdb:
      api_version: 2
      ssl: false
      host: 10.x.x.x
      port: 8086
      token: xxyy
      organization: a6c20c76a0880276
      bucket: ha_data_bucket
      tags:
        source: HA
      tags_attributes:
        - friendly_name
      default_measurement: units
      exclude:
        entities:
          - zone.home
        domains:
          - persistent_notification
          - person
      include:
        domains:
          - sensor
          - binary_sensor
          - sun

Whether it's right or wrong, I can't say.

Thanks 10-10-20, this is were I am slightly lost. I believe they have updated it and it is now integrated through the UI (which I have). It does not appear in the config yaml. I assume your snip is from the config?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,141 ✭✭✭✭10-10-20

As far as I can work out, there is an integration within the UI, but it looks like it's only a status tool to validate that the DB as configured from configuration.yaml is accessible. So stick with the examples in this page as it looks to be the correct method!

Thanks 10-10-20. Made sense of this. The UI is for the integration part. IP address API key etc. The config block is for include/exclude sensors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,141 ✭✭✭✭10-10-20

So does your config not have the api key and IP address details?

My UI component seems to just pull from the yaml, but maybe I don't get the options that you do as I have it pre-configured.

I added the config block with api key and IP address and got a repair warning on restart saying it was being removed from the config file. I removed it and just used it with an include block with a couple of test sensors and it seems to be working. I need to spend some more time and add the sensors I want.

This changed with this month's release, it'll throw a warning repair when you update

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 10,141 ✭✭✭✭10-10-20

No way! I'm already on 2026.3 and I hadn't seen the warning as Spook had found a load of dead entries, but the warning is there alright!

    Thanks for the pointer!

Anyone using Unifi Protect with HA? I was hoping to arm and disarm the app via HA. Its not directly possible with the official integration but I see a plugin on github? Is anyone using it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,132 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

What do you mean arm the app? I use both but not sure what you mean

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 303 ✭✭ptogher14

Theres a function within the app to "arm" it. Meaning you can set alarms and they will arm. For example if a person was detected on a particular camera.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,132 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

ah ok havent seen that, copilot suggests it can be done so id ask that or chatgpt and try what they suggest! AI LLMs have made tinkering in HA a lot easier imo.

Has anyone any suggestions for self-cleaning cat litter tray that integrates to HA? I'm looking at LitterRobot, but €600 is on the pricy side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Sleamhain

AI has definitely made things easier, and I wouldnt be anywhere near as far along with HA without it.

But at the same time, it has also sent me round and round in loops on numerous occasions giving me automations "that will definitely work this time" but never do!
