Galway at 15/8 looks decent value at home to Mayo in Football unless I'm missing something.

As a Mayo man, I'd agree. Galway have named a strong 1-9 but might be light enough up front.

Mayo have named a fairly strong side but with home advantage for Galway, I'd have it pretty much evens

I have a few bits for this weekend but posting my favourite ones. I suppose caveat with it being the 1st Weekend of League.

Kerry Footballers -8 vs Roscommon. Rossies had terrible performances pre-season and I have a feeling when their lineup is announced the line will grow. Surely they’ll be without the big players. Their panel will struggle tomorrow.

Meath Hurlers vs London 11/10 Boyles. While Meath have apparently had a poor pre-season and lost a lot of players, historically they’d always be a small bit above London. I feel like London had their year last year doing their double. 2013 was the last time London won their league opener away from home. 2025 was their first opening league match win since then (home to Roscommon) which signals to me a slow start every year. So I’m working off past history for that.

I have Wicklow -2 NAP vs Roscommon Hurlers but I can see the handicap has been removed off all the sites now. If you find it, lump on it. Roscommon had a miracle Rackard win last year. Couple that with a complete depletion of their squad of genuine starters and good players they’ll really struggle this year.

Armagh Win vs Louth (7/4) and Armagh +2 vs Louth Hurling. Apparently Armagh have massive turnover this year but at this level there always is. Louth just the 1 win in Rackard last year whereas Armagh finished their season really well. Just working off here it being a home match for Armagh, the fact they’re a perennial Rackard level team whereas Louth have been a yo-yo team for years. Should be more a 10/11 vs 10/11 game and not 7/4

Anything of note in the lower divisions this weekend @callaway92? Some big spreads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Ya I’m very big on Armagh +15 vs Roscommon tbh. I thought I’d stay away after a bad few results for me the first round but this one has pulled me back in. It’s an absolutely crazy line for a home team with their backs against the wall needing a result.

Roscommon team doesn’t look great. Armagh must be in he absolute shìts but they’re 12/1 for the win which I’m having a nibble of too and 25/1 on the draw. I genuinely can’t believe it.

Their largest league home loss in the last 5 years I can see was 11 points

Actually having a nibble at all underdogs in Division 3 (not big bets on any though).

Also Monaghan to beat Longford single in Division 4. Monaghan hammered by Sligo as expected but had a good away win to Lancashire last week. The fact Niall Arthur still plays with them is enough for me to know there is quality, whereas the excellent Cian D’Arcy is finished with Longford

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Roscommon by 11, so fairly as expected in that sense. That feels good after some bad ones recently.

Tyrone and Fermanagh live underdogs tomorrow I think.

Limerick over 1.5 goals at 11/10

Both teams to score a goal and Limerick to win at 2/1

Limerick to score a goal in both halves at 7/2

Few lower level Hurling picks this weekend:

Roscommon hurling bench is horrendous, so I’m tempted by Tyrone there, although they’ve been poor and Rossies hard to beat at The Hyde 7/4 PP (2/1 Boyles)

Mayo over Meath looks good tbh. Mayo have had good time off and have full panel back. Meath have been ok I guess, but maybe slightly flattering. I can’t refuse the 16/5 (PP) there for Mayo

Big ish bet for me is Warwickshire over Monaghan. Monaghan been absolutely putrid and have to travel to Birmingham for this one. 15/8 (2/1 Boyles) is a serious price for Warwickshire. They threw the Sligo game (Sligo walking the competition.. they are a division better than every team), gave a good account of themselves against Cavan and fair enough Leitrim bet them well..

Monaghan beaten comfortably by Leitrim, Longford and Sligo too (and just scrope by Lancashire). Neither have anything to play for, so I’d expect Monaghan to be bemoaning having to travel for it

    They’re all very live underdogs

Lately Wicklow to clear 11 point hcap against Fermamagh (hcap on Boyles). They’ll hammer them and the -11 is easily clearable.

Disgusting there, Roscommon 3 injury time points to snatch the draw. Mayo lose by 5 after being 12 down. Two good picks without a result annoyingly.

Might double up again on Wicklow -11 and Warwickshire for tomorrow

Going for a couple of Division 3 hurling picks again this weekend

I’ve taken Fermanagh +10 (21/20 Boyles) big enough vs Roscommon. Roscommon really don’t have the firepower as seen so far

2-16 vs Wicklow (poxy first game) and 2-17 against a poor Armagh their top scores.

Last 2 games 0-14 vs Louth and 1-16 vs Tyrone (3 points in injury time to draw that).

That would say to me that any oul’ score for Fermanagh will beat that 10 point handicap. Roscommon don’t have a bench at all. Fermanagh 1-17 and 2-19 scored in their last 2 home games - they won’t throw in the towel in their build to Rackard.

Wicklow to beat Donegal too. (11/4 PP). That’s a 50/50 game if not Wicklow favs. Wicklow’s first match loss to Roscommon looks like a blip but I didn’t know their main players had an event the Friday night that weekend. They have to beat Donegal to get to final and I think they will. Donegal will beat Roscommon in last match either way.

Double on both handicaps Wicklow +4, Fermanagh +10)

Mayo +12 vs Kerry too. Mayo had a serious 2nd half last week and should have their full team out. Not sure if they’re definitely 12 points worse in league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    Fermanagh +10 comes in

    Wicklow win comes in

Fermanagh +10 & Wicklow +4 double comes in

    Mayo +12… uhm… 😒

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Fairly slim pickings this weekend to be honest

But I’m confident in a low price double of Donegal to beat Roscommon (Division 3) and Cavan to beat Monaghan (Division 4)

1.47/1 - Look. Cavan vs Monaghan is a dead rubber but Monaghan have been absolutely putrid. Cavan down good players from last year but overall are a Division better than Monaghan. If there was a Division 5 it would suit Monaghan.

Donegal will beat Roscommon I’m sure. Roscommon really chugged their way to this match, scraping a win against Louth, miracle 3 points in injury time against Tyrone to draw and nearly got caught against Fermanagh last week. Their bench is shocking and I think they’ll struggle.

Also taking Donegal -2 handicap (21/20).

Bonus bet is U1.5 Goals in Limerick vs Galway 3/1. Obviously Limerick not exactly goal hunters. 0 against Waterford, 1 against Kilkenny, 0 against Tipp, 2 against a poor Offaly, and fair enough 3 against Cork then. Galway 0 goals against Kilkenny, 2 against Waterford, 2 against Offaly, 1 against Cork, 1 against Tipp. So between them in 10 games, they’ve scored 11 goals total. Limerick averaging 1.2 Goals Per Game, Galway averaging 1.2 Goals Per Game,

Also small on U0.5 Goals 10/1

Donegal won by 10 & Cavan Won by 4, so double and also Donegal Handicap in! 👌🏻

Limerick scored a poxy 2nd goal in 68 minute rebound from long strike hitting post, so no luck on wildcard bets!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    Hurling League final

Division 4 - Boyles the only ones with handicap up at the moment

    Sligo -10 LARGE 10/11

EDIT: Win by 16 or more 5/2 - MEDIUM

They are easily 1.5 Divisions better than Division 4 and will want the silverware for their efforts so far. 2 relegations in 3 years but should’ve made Rackard final last year except for a miracle last puck goal by Roscommon to draw with them and an absolute capitulation against Mayo ruining their score difference. They have home advantage

Pity there isn’t alternative handicaps available because I’d be taking the absolute max allowed

    Wins in 2026 League

    18 points (Monaghan away)

    8 points (Leitrim away)

    18 points (Lancashire home)

    37 points (Warwickshire home)

    31 points (Sligo home)

    17 points (Longford away)

Brutal finish to the leagues. Line increased to 13 I think in the end. Sorry about that one

Ok back on the horse after a small break

No BIG bets this weekend but a few I see value in:

Dublin -1 vs Clare (Camogie 1B Final) Evens

Dublin are 3 or 4 points better than Clare in my opinion. Dubs should’ve won earlier in league but drew. Aisling O’Neill and Aisling Maher back in whereas Clare same old … Clare no squad depth either. Really fancy Dublin here.

Sligo win vs Tyrone Rackard - 21/10. More of an 11/8 shot in my opinion. Tyrone really gone backwards. Sligo should’ve made Rackard final last year but messed up against Mayo ruining their score difference. 1st place gets thru to final in this. 2nd plays New York in a semi-final.

Leitrim 4/7 vs Monaghan. Should be a handy win for Leitrim. Monaghan absolutely atrocious.

Waterford vs Galway Div 1 Camogie Final - Draw 11/1. Draws generally very hard to hit, but Waterford have been excellent. Dunno how Galway even got the final after losing their first 2 games. This’ll mean a lot to Waterford but dunno if they have enough really. Just don’t wanna miss out on 9/1

Just found out that Betfair Exchange will have no GAA markets until the provincial finals and later.

I've been using them for over 20 years for GAA matches and I'm not happy about it.

It was a 'business decision' by the 'traders' according to the helpdesk.

Had an ok week last week

Wicklow beating Derry in particular and Fermanagh over Armagh (Hurling)

Gonna go with Derry over Donegal this weekend (evens Boyles). Donegal wrongly favs here. Derry expectedly hammered Roscommon first game and lost to Wicklow last round out (but a horrible trip there).

Kerry favs by a mile here for the Christy Ring.

So far of the 6 games there’s been 4 home wins and I’m going with the home team here

Leitrim +2 vs Longford (Meagher). Looking likely these are the finalists. Both teams have started their campaigns well and this should be tight. Draw 15/2 not bad either and worth a few bob but I fancy Leitrim with the handicap here anyway. Both teams would be delighted with a draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Actually adding Louth +14 vs Tyrone in Rackard. 14 a massive line to beat. Now, Sligo hammered Louth last week (at home) but Tyrone aren’t huge ‘point’ scorers scorers, so if Louth could stop over 3 goals going in, they should be within the 14 points I think. Tyrone should surely win though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,362 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Oh baby - Clean sweep on the above

    Leitrim win by 3

    Louth lose by just 5

    Derry win

Couple of picks for today’s games

Wicklow home to Roscommon in Christy Ring EVENS

Wow on this price. Wicklow a solid, solid Ring team. Cannot lose today. Rossies 2 away games in a row although a savage performance against Donegal last week they won’t get through this. Wicklow phoned it in against Kerry last week with their eyes solely on this. This is a savage price to be honest.

This is a level up for Roscommon and even getting a single point in it was an achievement in my view.

    All over this

    Donegal +8 vs Meath

Great line here - wasn’t expecting this much.

Donegal the team who gave Kerry their best game in this. Meath been poor overall for their standard. Wouldn’t count them out of winning this match so having a nibble at 6/1 too for the win. +8 is a great line tho.

    Donegal +8 b*vs

If it was always that easy says you!

Wicklow 3-12 vs Roscommon 1-11 (Evens win)

Donegal 1-16 vs Meath 2-18 (+8 win). Looks like the 6/1 got a good run too at least

Wicklow were 8/13 with Boyle earlier, you are affecting the markets, Callaway! Donegal handicap was also +7 when I made my small bet.
