Nice mature estate. Not 100% sure about the land behind that as I think it's ear marked for housing eventually. Search the county council website for the newbridge town plan for more details. You won't be walking into town from there as the road is a country road. Some lovely walks by the old graveyard down to the river and also into old connell opposite that graveyard from there.

The wonderful "indigenous" ethnic community were bringing their personal matters to whitewater yesterday.

    What a joy they are.

Obviously no roof work or tarmac laying on Sundays.

Saw the video. Absolutely nothing will be done about it. And if the whitewater decides to ban them entry, they will get a free lawyer for discrimination. Didn't recognise any of them though. Head not square enough to be a Connors. Possibly O'Brien's (the Kerry blow ins) but not sure. Old enough to know better.

Jeepers @Damien360 , please take that rubbish down in the next 23 hours, before it's tattooed on you forever. We live in a small village.

Hi, does anyone know if Mcloughlins oil sell 20 or 25 litre drums of heating oil? Thanks!

I'd say that will be welcome (not that I know much about Next). I was in the Whitewater last week for the first time in a while and noticed a few places shut down.

I was in it this morning & the choir were singing carols outside M & S, made the place feel good.

    Credit where it’s due:

As everyone knows there’s been some terrible deluges in the past week. I drive up & down the R445 every day. There used to be terrible flooding on the dual carriageway between the LIDL & Toughers roundabouts but ( afaik ) there’s been no flooding on the road since the roadworks last year. Well done to those that did the repairs.

Didn't know where else to post this up, but I thought posters would find this interesting.

It's an Aer Corps aerial photo of Newbridge dated 15th June 1973.

You can see the town beginning to grow rapidly as it starts to become a commuter town for Dublin, with Moorefield Park estate under construction near the centre of the image.

It'd be great to magically have a Street View from that time. 😄

Almost all of the fields in that photo are covered in houses, except for the far side of the river and the triangular bit at the bottom.

I only visit Newbridge the odd time.

Have Berska, River Island, Zaraz, etc all pulled out of Whitewater?

You'd wonder what they replace them with.

St Patrick's Day flags in the town:

When are we going to be mature enough to fly the British Union flag, whether or not we cover the pole with grease to stop pilfering or damage?

Why are the Pride flags removed? Keeping them fresh for June? Even the PBS, the town leaders in this regard, do not have it aloft currently.

River Island still there, Next opening in May (former New Look store). Zara closed as they need a bigger space for their style of store now and a bigger unit was not available (it had NOTHING to do with rent or rates - SOLELY to do with the size of store they now want.) Normal are in negotiation for the Euro Giant store. Rituals now open too (Former Pavers store I think)

Only available units are the Zara unit - (this could be of interest to Boots) and the Quiz unit (poor location)

    That's good to know.

I only visit the odd time if I'm visiting Kildare Village in the morning. Think Newbridge is dead handy. Go to the shopping center, Penneys, Dunnes and Homestore/Woodies.

    Couldn't be bothered with Dublin.

As a guy I have little interest in Zara.
