I know you know me at this stage and that I'm not having a go at you, this is just for the benefits of others. That language is unbelievable, "civilian harm" doesn't even begin to describe the level of depravity the IDF engaged in. Like I said in an earlier post, I would urge everyone - particularly the gleeful apologists for all of this - to watch The Voice of Hind Rajab.

Totally agree - "civilian harm" is a misnomer.

What they did to Hind Rajab, her family and the medics was utterly depraved and sickening.

I find it remarkable that victim-blaming posts still turn up here.

Non-stop aggression by Israel (every few hours another action by Israel aimed at supporting ethnic cleansing).

A reflective article on the need for justice for Palestine.

    https://www.palestinechronicle.com/saving-the-middle-east-the-map-begins-with-palestinian-justice/

Today, the Palestinians—much like the people of Lebanon, Syria, and other nations across the region—are doing exactly what every oppressed nation must do: they are remaining steadfast. This Sumud is the key, now more than ever before. The ultimate outcome of this conflict will not be determined by lopsided death tolls or the sheer scale of structural destruction, but by the unyielding resilience of the people. History is a patient teacher; it tells us that if the rightful owners of the land hold their ground, they will eventually win.

Richard Falk, the former UN Special Rapporteur on Palestinian Human Rights and a prominent legal scholar, refers to this phenomenon as winning the ‘War of Legitimacy’. It is a war fought not with fighter jets, but with the moral clarity of those who refuse to disappear.

UK police approve static al-Quds commemoration.

UK police approved an annual demonstration to commemorate Quds Day on Sunday in London, amid tight security measures and strict warnings against displaying certain pro-Palestinian slogans.

The approval comes as the UK Supreme Court prepares to rule on an application filed by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) seeking a judicial review of the Home Office’s decision to ban the annual march.

The IHRC, the march organisers, said that Sunday’s demonstration will be a static protest and will take place as a "challenge" to the government’s decision to ban the annual event that has been held since 1979.

three snippets from Haaretz. The first two are standard fare but the third at least shows some Israelis are not afraid to challenge the Govt.

In the West Bank, more than 20 masked settlers raided a Palestinian community overnight into Friday, attacking residents and human rights activists and stealing hundreds of livestock, witnesses told Haaretz. The IDF arrived about an hour after the assault, while police reached the scene roughly two and a half hours later. Authorities said they are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man arrested for spray-painting a Palestinian flag on the wall of Lod city hall was released to house arrest Thursday after his arrest drew national attention when police minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was invited to join the raid on his home. In footage aired by far-right Channel 14, Ben-Gvir warned outside the suspect's house: "Those who incite – we will enter their homes."

Around 150 people rallied at central Tel Aviv's Habima Square on Saturday to protest the war with Iran, including several MKs and activists. Demonstrators chanted slogans including, "You don't build democracy on the bodies of schoolgirls."

I am going to The Stunning concert in Glasgow on Tuesday evening, they are fantastic live and I have seen them live dozens of times since I was a student in Waterford in the late 1980s. Anyhow, I feel this needs more recognition

That's a very powerful song and video.

Israelis need to overthrow their terrorist genocidal regime before it takes them so deep they'll never come back up.

There will be elections in Israel this year too - perhaps things will change there also.

That's a poll about the Iran war. Not the upcoming election.

Looks like Israel is going full Gaza in Lebanon now. Déjà vu.

"The Lebanese health ministry described the eight people killed as civilians, and a local official confirmed Hassan's account that the Lebanese military had inspected the scene and found "no military items or weapons".

IIf 71% are in favour of bombing Iran, the election likely won't help matters.

In the occupied West Bank -

"A Palestinian husband and wife, and two of their young children, have been shot and killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.

The Bani Odeh family were travelling in their car in the town of Tammum, in the northern West Bank, when Israeli forces opened fire.

Two of their other children were injured but survived."

That was a despicable atrocity - as they all are.

IDF screaming into the car "we've killed dogs!"

Like I've said over and over, anyone who'll try to defend this needs help.

Additional info on this incident by Haaretz.

I have serious doubts that the IDF felt "endangered".

A father, mother, and two of their children, aged 5 and 7, were fatally shot in their car overnight into Sunday by Israeli forces in the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. Two other children, Khaled, 11, and Mustafa, 8, survived the shooting. The IDF and Israel Police said that the family's car accelerated towards the Israeli forces, who felt endangered and opened fire.

I posted this first by mistake in the Iran/Israel war thread.

Interesting short story by a displaced woman in Gaza.

    https://everythingispolitical.com/readings/a-trail-of-soap

I twisted the faucet handle back and forth—a futile hope for even a thin thread of water. Not a single drop came.

My body sagged under the weight of rage, disappointment, fury, and a storm of unanswerable questions. I rushed through the crowded corridor of angry women, out into the street. I couldn’t hold back tears.

I wept, cursing myself and the occupation and Gaza and her sea— the sea I love with a weary, lonely love, just as I’ve always loved everything in this patch of earth.

Criticising this is probably anti semitism according to Alan Shatter. It really is quite something to hear him condemn others for not speaking out against civilians being murdered. Every accusation is a confession, Alan.

What's the excuse for obstructing the ambulances? They always have an excuse- or they decline to comment if they can't think of one.

Remember when the BBC asked them what was the military objective in destroying so much of the Agricultural land in Gaza, the IDF declined to comment.

There is always an IDF "review" after such events.

Which is never published (because it didn't happen?)

West Bank colonists on the rampage again -

"Residents of the community over the weekend. "The women were also bound, and the children were beside us. They had knives and clubs," said one resident.

Witnesses to the weekend raid on the community of Khirbet Humsa, involving dozens of settlers, describe a nightmare that lasted about an hour and also included violence against young girls in front of their bound parents and the looting of livestock and jewelry

Settlers who raided Khirbet Humsa, a Palestinian community in the northern Jordan Valley, over the weekend, severely sexually assaulted a man in front of his family, according to witnesses."

The sexual assault is hardly surprising after Israel dropped the case against the IDF were caught on CCTV anally raping a Palestinian prisoner.

The comments section is pretty hard hitting. The comments may not all be posted by Israelis but those that clearly are have the same outrage about this as non-Israelis.

This day 23 years ago, Rachel Corrie was murdered by the IDF

    Absolutely tragic and heart-breaking.

I note that Iran named a street in Tehran after Corrie…

The BBC has broken the law by failing to give a "substantive response" to a freedom of information request on calls that took place between its most senior figures and the Israeli Embassy, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has found.

The ICO, which is the UK's independent regulator for data protection, found the BBC had failed to respond adequately to a freedom of information request from a civil servant and within the 20 working days set out by law.

According to Novara Media, which saw the decision ahead of publication, the BBC was found to be in breach of section 10 of the Freedom of Information Act.

ITV News At Ten led with the killing of four children in Beirut and then had another report on the killing of children in the West Bank. It may be that TV editors have had enough of the terrorist state and are no longer willing to provide cover for them. They were barely even bothering with the 'Israel says this' stuff and pointed out they were very clearly bombing civilian targets in Lebanon.

This cartoon very well reflects the conflicts in this land.

Unfortunately AIPAC aligned Democrats won primaries in Illinois yesterday. AIPAC played down their role until afterwards. Issues unrelated to Israel were used instead in the primary. Progressive vote splitting also a factor.

The Humanist Report has a report in it below as does MS.Now from 4 days ago.

Different country, same Israeli playbook. Health care centres, media, children, schools, random citizens, water, waste water, bakeries, etc.

A Lebanese media official and his wife were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential area in central Beirut on Wednesday, according to local reports.
