How are the open air prisons - the checkpoints detaining Palestinians for hours to move a few miles between zones in the apartheid pariah racist state that is land stolen from Palestinians by zionists?

If he was in an area controlled by Hamas speaking out calling for democracy, he would be dragged onto the street and shot.

Renowned Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi has died aged 100 after a decades-long scholarship focused on the history and displacement of the Palestinian people.

Seeing (unconfirmed) reports.that Ben Givr's son has either been killed or seriously injured and also Netanyahu's brother has been killed in a missile strike.

Anyone else seeing this from credible sources?.

There were reports two or three days ago that Ben-gvir's son was injured - I think in Lebanon. I think it was a Haaretz report. Not heard anything about netanyahus brother.

Edit - the report I saw was Smotrich's son

Just had a quick look around. I've seen "reports" of Netanyahu's brother being killed and Ben-Gvir being killed. Seems it all came from X.

I'd wait for reputable news sources before believing anything on social media.

Certainly, Smotrich's son was injured on Lebanese border.

Seen that on "Threads" with pics of a house on fire. No news I've seen, has even a hint, in papers or tv as yet, of any such event taking place.

While I agree with that I don't trust the media to report on anything negative vis a vis Israel.

How many news stations are reporting on massive missile strikes in Tel Aviv or Haifa, you would think Israel was untouched with the lack of reporting

Agreed - Israel ensures that bad news is not reported…

The general MO to kill people they don't like or who are living on land they want to grab is now copper-fastened by giving them the weapons to achieve those goals.

There cannot be any other state on the planet that thrives on so much violence and killing.

    Haaretz:
Far-right National Security Minister Ben-Gvir announced Monday evening that residents of all Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem will be eligible for a firearm license based solely on their place of residence.

Until now, only residents of neighborhoods in the capital adjacent to the West Bank were eligible for a gun permit based on where they live.

As a result of the policy change, tens of thousands of Israelis who have not completed military service, including residents of Haredi neighborhoods, will now be eligible for a firearm permit.

Last year, the state notified the Supreme Court that irregularities had been found in 195 firearm licenses issued since Ben-Gvir was appointed minister in 2022.

This is probably the most insightful opinion piece on Israel I've read.

Seems many are realising that Israel is a perpetual warmonger.

    Haaretz:

"The Israeli home front is no longer being evaluated solely on whether it obeys the instructions and manages not to die.

Now it is being evaluated on whether it does so with enthusiasm, resilience and without a negative effect on morale…

In the new vision being offered to us, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's 'super-Sparta,' a citizen is not a person with rights, fears, doubts and opinions, but rather a tiny cog in the perpetual war machine.

In such a society, the desire for a sane life is seen as an almost eccentric indulgence.

Instead of war being an exceptional means, meant to preserve life, life becomes raw material meant to sustain war"

Another possible war crime by Israel - wtf is not happening in the Hague?

Amnesty International has warned that the conditions faced by Palestinian women and girls in the Gaza Strip represent one of the most severe forms of discrimination and violence against women amid the ongoing war and the collapse of healthcare services.

In a statement, the organisation said Israeli attacks and the widespread destruction of infrastructure have severely affected essential healthcare systems, particularly services related to reproductive health.

Amnesty cited findings by a United Nations Commission of Inquiry, which concluded in March 2025 that Israel had systematically used sexual, reproductive and other forms of gender-based violence against Palestinians.

The organisation said the destruction of reproductive health facilities and restrictions on access to basic medical care could amount to acts of genocide, according to the commission’s findings.

Unfortunately, the eyes of world are on Iran. That means all those in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Lebanon are likely being treated to the totally unfettered aggression of the IDF. Current reporting restrictions in Israel means we'll likely not know for months what is going on in Gaza and how many more have been killed/starved whilst crossings remain closed.

It's not just the IDF on the rampage in the West Bank -

"The European Union and United Kingdom have demanded that Israel halt a surge in violence by Jewish settlers against Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank that has taken place since the start of the country's war with Iran.

Six Palestinians have been killed during attacks by settlers across the West Bank over the past 11 days, according to the United Nations."

The Iranian war means the Settlers can operate totally unfettered and restrained by law enforcement - not that the law was enforced much beforehand anyway as has been demonstrated multiple times.

"Settler violence" is an interesting way of describing the murder of Palestinians, but as always the passive voice gets used in these reports.

Annual al-Quds march for Palestine march has been banned

    https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2026/03/fighting-back-against-zionist-control-of-the-uk/

The extent of zionist domination of the UK government was shown in the astonishing decision to ban the annual al-Quds march for Palestine, which has been taking place for 47 years without incident.

The Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Sarah Sackman, called for the demonstration to be banned.

The Israeli and USA attack on Iran is, beyond argument, illegal in international law. Iran is not a proscribed organisation. It is not illegal to express support for Iran.

Sackman worked as a clerk in the Supreme Court of Israel.

I worried about that on Day 1 of the war. International press still banned which says it all.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

    A culture of impunity -

"Israel's most senior military lawyer has said all charges against five soldiers accused of sexually abusing a Palestinian detainee from Gaza have been dropped.

The alleged incident at Sde Teiman military prison in July 2024, which was partially caught on CCTV, left the detainee needing hospital treatment for internal injuries. The soldiers were charged with aggravated abuse and causing serious bodily harm, which they denied.

The military said the indictments were withdrawn in part due to "exceptional circumstances that negatively affected the ability to prosecute the case while also preserving the right for a fair trial of the defendants"."

This will embolden others to carry out war crimes - not that the threat of legal action ever stopped it before of course.

Settlers kill Kittens (obviously NSFW or life in general)

I guess if the IDF can snipe children, throwing some kittens off a roof is a somewhat lower level of depravity.

Some quotes from the Beeb report (posted by @Odhinn) on IDF soldiers sodomising a prisoner.

I suppose an alleged war criminal (at large) would have course no difficulty in calling the perpetrators "heroic".

Prime Minister Netanyahu hailed the end of what he called the "blood libel".

"The State of Israel must hunt down its enemies - not its heroic fighters," he said.

Sari Bashi, executive director of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel, a non-governmental organisation, accused the military of a whitewash.

"Israel's military advocate general just gave his soldiers license to rape - so long as the victim is Palestinian," she told the Associated Press.

She said the decision was "the latest in a long line of actions that whitewash abuses against detainees whose frequency and severity have worsened" since 7 October 2023.

    I really wish I hadn't seen that.

The behaviour of the Settlers and the IDF is entirely beyond my comprehension.

That the Prime Minister lauds it is incredible. Especially as he regularly extols the virtues of both the IDF and Israel - "The most moral army in the word". "the only democracy in the Middle East".

Israel is due to submit its defence to the ICJ after being given several previous extensions. Link to the filed interventions given below.

    https://www.icj-cij.org/case/192/intervention

The United States has filed a declaration of intervention in South Africa's genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), explicitly rejecting the allegation that the country is committing genocide in Gaza.

The filing was made on Thursday alongside separate interventions by Namibia, Hungary and Fiji, according to a press release issued by the court on Friday.

All four states submitted declarations under Article 63 of the ICJ statute, which allows countries that are parties to a treaty under dispute to intervene in order to present their interpretation of that treaty.

On Thursday, Iceland and the Netherlands also filed declarations under Article 63.

South Africa filed the case in December 2023, accusing Israel of breaching the Genocide Convention through its military campaign in Gaza following the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October that year.

    This is interesting.

Is Herzog signalling his intention to refuse to pardon the alleged war criminal (at large)?

This is one to watch - with popcorn.

    Haaretz:

In his first press conference since the war with Iran kicked off almost two weeks ago, PM Netanyahu called on President Herzog to grant him a pardon and end his ongoing corruption trial. Netanyahu said that Herzog "simply needs to do the right thing" and bring the case to a close so he can focus on the war and regional diplomacy, saying "I would like to be completely unencumbered."

When Netanyahu submitted his pardon request to Herzog in November, the Israeli presidentdescribed it as "extraordinary." For his part, President Trump weighed in once again last week – after calling on Herzog to grant the pardon multiple times over the past several months – and told Axios that the Israeli president was "a disgrace" for failing to act.

Herzog responded on Friday, saying that he had expected Netanyahu to condemn Trump's most recent remarks. Speaking at the site of an Iranian missile hit in northern Israel, Herzog implied that Trump's intervention was "a blunt attack on the symbols of governance and sovereignty of the State of Israel" and said that "our honor, independence and sovereignty are not for sale to anyone."

Justice for Hind Rajab? I sincerely hope so.

All those who were party to this atrocity must answer for their crimes.

    Haaretz:
Democratic lawmakers from both houses of Congress on Thursday introduced legislation requiring the U.S. government to investigate those responsible for the January 2024 killing of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, her family, and the paramedics sent to rescue them, in what was one of the most notorious cases of civilian harm during the Gaza war.

"From the river to the sea" in full swing:

    Haaretz:

In the West Bank, settlers on Wednesday set up caravans for the first time in the area designated for a new settlement on Mount Ebal, north of the Palestinian city of Nablus.

According to the settler-led local council, the settlement is part of the "One Million in Samaria" plan, which aims to raise the Jewish population in the area to one million by 2050.
