Now - I fully accept that within 40 years, Knock Shrine will be demolished and the existing three statues replaced with Ireland's subsequent gods of Byrne, Debbie Harry and Leonard Cohen.

But that was an abomination of a show. Lip synched, backing tracked, cheaply mounted, boring. It oscillated between a nursing home sing-along on a Wednesday afternoon when flanked by his uniformed carers, and a visit from the elderly man in a boiler suit who knows how to fix the analog heating in my house because none of today's automated hot shots know how to handle her.

A cheapo Marxist Communist shillfest but very happy to charge eye watering Trump Tower prices to look at it.

"Once In A Lifetime" was still great. Just.

When he mentioned "the pandemic" not once but three times I knew he was a fake and walked out. This turd will sink like a stone in St Anne's Park.

Perfect, beyond perfect. Thank you, David Byrne and band. One of the best music experiences of my life. What a gig.

Brilliant from start to finish . The whole show had his quirkiness and TH hit after hit interspersed with excellent DB songs .

Incredible show and on a par with American Utopia. I live in Raheny and am tempted to go again but I wonder how the show will transfer to daylight, the videos will not work as they did tonight, the show the dancing and choreography were incredible.

I will go but I expect a completely different setup.

I accepted the backing tracks half a song in and admired the choreography, vocals and respected the message. Snook down from the tiered seated area to the expensive seats where everyone was dancing and it was a different ball game altogether.

When I grow up I want to be one of the stage dancers in a David Byrne gig.

Outstanding gig - high concept, very theatrical and always eye catching the perfect mix between his solo work and Talking Heads.

A music legend and a great entertainer - so glad I managed to see him and his band.

Wow, just Wow. Well worth the trek down.

Proper crowd appreciation too. That was loud 📢

A beautiful night in Dublin 😎

If you were at gound level could you see the stage floor lighting well? An incredible staging of Psycho Killer.

    Enjoyable show

Had the crowd in his hands

Can see him thriving on a sunny outdoor stage in June

His team can easily afford 'yondr pouchs' so all this 'no phones etc' is BS

Incredible gig. Decided 2 songs in I'll be making the trip to Dublin again in the summer. As much as the front seats stood during the show...need room to dance.

I cannot figure out if you're a demented crank or just an incredibly subtle shitposter.

There'd have been nothin cheap about that setup though, those screens were incredible and the prep for a show like that was likely years of planning.

    I'll echo the positive comments.

It was vibrant, energetic, choreographed to perfection. I got lucky with the seat: row 30 in D, which meant dead center and high enough to get a great view of the setup.

The idea to have everyone moving around gave so much freedom. On Independence Day, how cool it was to have the names of the band on the screen, showing their position on stage. Or the light bulb on Everybody Comes To My House. Or the spotlights on Psycho Killer. The creativity is off the chart! Sound was clean, full, I could hear everything clearly (another gig that dispells the myth 3Arena can't have good sound).

This Must Be The Place will be a classic forever and ever - and I'll have Like Humans Do stuck in my head for days!!

Some more photos below - not as good as the previous posts, but sharing the joy!

Upcoming gigs and events: Dry Cleaning, The Shawshank Redemption, Sprints, These Charming Men, Sasha Velour, Disorder Festival, David Byrne, The Cure, Garbage, Bob The Drag Queen, Sigur Ros, Olafur Arnalds, Cabaret Voltaire, Angine de Poitrine, Cardinals

    Great pics!

Couldn't agree with you more. The names on the screen tracked to the performers was so cool.

Honestly one of the most amazing productions I've seen. Coming up to 74 and David Byrne is just magnificent on stage. His voice is still so good. And the other performers must sync and gel together so well with David and each other.

Just an all-timer of a gig. If anything it turned me off going to St Anne's because I don't want to ruin the memory of this evening. It'll be brilliant but I can't see it being as good.

Also, loved the tour poster from tonight's show.

Point is, if poster stayed til Once in a Lifetime they just left before the encore so take with a hefty sized grain of salt ;)

or walked out …. to the bar only to return when the raging fires were damped out.

Anyway, show and a half, 3rd time seeing him (2018 and that set in 2013 in Laois), EP set I don't think will be topped but that was incredible.

Just back from Dublin. That was really was something. It was the most interestingly staged and engaging gig I've ever been to. Well worth the the 18 hour day.

what a spectacle musically and visually

Mid bit as little knowledge of solo stuff was still worth it.

Kept phone in pocket other than wife asking me about gig. Not sure how it works outdoors in St Anne's but might be tempted to go as only down the road from me

In relation to your second last pic, my wife told me after the show that the screen performers were in sync with the performers and it's so cool seeing yours and Irish Gunners photos to demonstrate that. Not sure how I missed it, must have been transfixed on something 😂
