Just went down to the gate in my dressing gown to see if mine was still upright. There was a suspect bread wrapper drifting around. Anyway it appeared to still have its contents and was upright. Ferocious howling gale during the night.

Edit, just got message from daughter to say she stood the bin back up, pretty much all the bins on a half hour, admittedly very rural, drive were over.

Had a grown up/dress up meeting this am, so I asked the ai what the weather was going to be like at x and y times in z location, it said that it was going to be lovely but breezy and a warm jacket and a hair brush would be all I need.

Path outside the venue was ankle deep in flood water and windy!

I read - and quite enjoyed - the book and even I have zero interest in watching it. I do hope Buckley wins the Oscar, though.

Using my one precious WFH day today, now that we're back in the office 4 days, and next door are having work done on their house. Constant hammering and drilling on the party wall 🙃

I probably won’t watch the film as it’s not my sort of thing but up until recently I didn’t know what a fine singer she is.
Have a listen to her version of “ Country girl “ the primal scream song. Personally I think it’s better than the original. Absolutely fabulous raw blues rock voice and the backing band is superb. Love the way the band starts up fairly quiet and then ramp the sound right up to max towards the end.

Yeah, she came second in a competition to find a Nancy for a new Andrew Lloyd Webber production of Oliver years ago. She's also on an album dedicated to Shane McGowan that's due out later this year.

stuck my head out at about 7.20 to see what the weather was doing as I fancy a walk, surprised that despite the forecast it is dry and hardly a cloud in the sky. Went inside to make and eat a sandwich, 40 minutes later…coat on, hat on, headphones ready, door open…ohhh it’s raining ! Not heavy but enough to deter any outside activity…😵

I was trying to delete a back slash but it wouldn't budge. Then I realised it wasn't a back slash, but a backwards lash.

Online feedback surveys that ask you why you left a particular score.

WRONG I don't answer "why" I'll give you scores of 1-10 but if you ask me why the survey stops there.

Wake me up when it's all over.

The latest bullshit on social media "Mom/ Dad - what were you like in the 90's?"

People who type apostrophes when using plurals.

"Paper statement's can take 7-10 working day's to arrive to the address in the post."

TA response - 'Why does it matter, you can tell what they mean'. 'Language evolves'. 'Grammar Nazi'. Eyeroll.

That 'language evolves' one really annoys me - yes it evolves over multiple decades and centuries, not in the five minutes it takes for you to invent something inaccurate and incorrect'.

The whole suit button/ unbutton etiquette - noticed this a lot while watching Mad Men on Netflix….

Guy walks into a room with the top button of his suit closed and proceeds to sit down for 10 seconds while he opens the button. Someone comes into room to greet him - he stands up to greet them while simultaneously closing the button. Sits down 5 seconds later and opens the button again. Repeat ad hoc…so annoying to look at. Just leave the fcuking suit unbuttoned all the time FFS!

    Amazon.

Arriving Today. No it bloody well isn't! Its cleared customs in the UK and hasn't even reached our shores yet so no way is it arriving with An Post today.

The TA is more with myself I should know better by now to double check exactly where a parcel is rather than believing the Amazon orders headline.

Wake me up when it's all over.

The bottom button on a suit or waistcoat should always be unbuttoned to allow for movement when sitting.

I use Mom when referring to my American mother-in-law but always referred to my own parents by their first names.

The best example I heard for the importance of punctuation, grammar etc was the difference between ‘help your Uncle Jack off a horse’ and ‘help your uncle jack off a horse’.

The Americans ruined non-plussed though. Great word that now has 2 meanings that are the exact opposite of each other. FFS.

    Like "presently".

Another example of the vital important of punctuation is this sentence:

"The Principal says the Superintendent is stupid."

    a) The Principal says, "The Superintendent is stupid".

    b) "The Principal", says the Superintendent, "is stupid".

Filling out an online form to notify the Council of an overflowing bin. I was filling out my details until it asked for a mobile number. Mandatory field. Fcuk right off. You don't need my phone number so I can tell you to do your job.

The drivers car mat is curling up and a major ta at this stage!, I have oodles of brand new mats for the rest of the car but I can't seem to buy one just for the driver side . I'll have to buy another full set over the weekend .

That 'non-plussed' gets me too. Its really a word (phrase?) that only needs rare usage, but its popping up everywhere in its incorrect usage. Even more irritating, dictionaries are offering the alternative meaning as an option.

Pubs with TVs on for the sake of it. Out for a drink before a gig and the place I'm in has Judge Judy (muted, thankfully) on the big screen. What's the fcuking point??? Just switch it off.

Especially the ones that ask for a quick star rating in an email and when you do that it starts a full blown survey that needs your email address and details. I’m not doing that!

Won't take longer than 3 minutes and we'll enter you for a €250 draw - I'm looking at you screwfix.

But in the same day I got a BoI survey. They are the most stupid ever. I went into my bank 3 times this week to do three completely different transactions and they say they want me to complete the survey because "You recently spoke with a cashier or used an internal or external ATM at XXXX Branch". Well yes I did all those which one are you referring to?

Wake me up when it's all over.
