He knows it was the US. He was simply lying. And his lie was pathetic. As POTUS, he has just claimed that an ally, to whom the US sold this weapon, fired this weapon into Iran at the exact time that the US was launching a surprise war. Not only has this happened, but the US currently has no idea who did it.

That is a massive security risk on so many levels. How did they obtain the missiles, or did they know the US were starting to attack, and how did they know they would attack that particular place?

AS usual with this administration, it is the attempt to lie and cover up that gets them into the most trouble. If they had simply accepted what had happened, claimed to be really sorry, and that a full investiagation to what went wrong would be undertaken so that such a loss of lives would be minimised in the future etc, this would be a non-story

Seems to be a consensus that it was an error but ,in the back of my mind I wonder if it could have actually been deliberate ,considering the moral depravity infecting the regime (but hopefully not yet the military)

More likely, perhaps gross negligence, attributable to the demonisation of the enemy (if we accept countries are shiholes then what is Iran since it must be in an even lower category)

But ,whatever it was how confident can we be that the truth will come out or that "we are investigating" is not just to kick the ball into the long grass?

(Trump's "I don't know" was just a new variety of lie that might happen to be true.)

This Hegseth lad. Is he trying to be Trump or is he he even worse? Listening to his war briefs, what a toerag

Trumps wealth massively increases, who could have guessed.

"Donald Trump also saw his wealth increase by 27% to $6.5bn off the back of his crypto dealings, and after his New York fraud penalty was thrown out, making the US president the world's 645th richest person"

Their military have already shown the depth they will go to with their boat strikes as regards Venezuela, and even MAGA at this point I doubt would believe that an investigation into anything this shower do after the killings in Minnesota would be anything other than kicking into the grass.

It`s nothing more from him than a blatant lie that he knows to be a lie to give his supporters something to cling too that it wasn`t the U.S. that bombed the school.

Fox News apologised for using old footage of Trump at a dignified transfer last year. Not the footage of him in his baseball cap merch at last weeks one.

    Brain rot.

CNN is reporting that 140 U.S service personnel have been wounded, eight severely, in Iran. This was published while K Leavitt was giving a press briefing about Trumps latest executive orders on the Save America plan covering voting and banning transgender operations from being caried out on children.

Major edit due to an error on my part. The TV News channel was SKY, not CNN. It is still running the report.

"I… I've… We've… It was the Japanese, or the Japs as I like to call 'em. They carried out the Tamagotchi strike on the Minab school. Th… 1996 they've had them. 1996. We… Pearl Harbour, so I'm… we're looking at the Japs."

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

With uncertainty of where this war is going and how protracted it will become, no less the issue of supply, capacity, required shutdowns and lead in periods to ramping up again, my prediction is simple - oil prices will continue to rise - slowly, but upward will be the direction - I think today’s rebound on oil price reduction is temporary - would be interested in hearing an argument to disagree with that stance- from a practical perspective, I don’t see how oil won’t reduce in supply short term

Not sure if he realises he's not playing Call of Duty or more likely the odious creep doesn't actually care.

Trumps latest is warning Iran to remove any mines, if they did put put mines there, from the Hormuz Straits, unless he's intent on causing the price of oil to rise again - perish the thought. Possibly some one planted the seed in his mind. It's a bit late in the war for Iran to plant mines there as it has no Air Force or Navy to drop them off in the water [unless Hegseth is wrong about Iran's armed forces]. It would have been an excellent idea two weeks back in order to bottle up units of the U.S Navy there and hold them hostage against U.S adventurism.

Maersk Shipping is not allowing its carrier shipping to use the Straits and the Persian Gulf and has decided not to use the Red Sea and the Suez canal route either meaning their ships will be taking a long route to ports for delivery and pick-up.

In the meantime, U.S B-1 bombers have taken off from RAF bases in the U.K, apparently for operations in the Middle East region. It looks like Hegseth is right in his predictions for Iran.

You laugh at the biological impossibility, but I've seen MAGA folk walking around without any brains, so you never know....

And the UK government are deceiveing the population by declaring these are 'defensive missions'

It feels pointless even saying it, but imagine the reaction on Fox News if Joe Biden had said that.

When he said yesterday that the war was won and nearly over , oil prices dropped .

Then today prices went up again when the bombing continued with a vengeance .

In the meantime some millionaires , nay trillionaires were made buying and selling stock .

Method behind the madness that is Trump and his cronies ..keep everyone guessing , but nod to the pals .

I think Iran are in a worse position than people realise.

The United States is the largest oil and gas producing nation in the world.

The US financial elite & asset owners benefit from higher oil prices - except they can't admit that because the bottom 80% of the US population personally suffer from higher oil prices.

Therefore I think anxiety over the Straits if Hormuz closing is a fake worry.

I realise most people won't accept this because it is too different from the surface-level understanding of what is happening.

I understood, without really knowing anything about it, that much of US oil was not really suitable for most uses and had to be refined - in Canada. And who was not nice to Canada, and has pis annoyed them?
