Don't think we have one of these for 2026 yet, so here we go.

Said weather be damned this afternoon, and took a few hours off to try and get a few holes in. Rain held off for the first while, but was pretty consistent for the rest of the afternoon.

Played well though. Driver still hit and miss as usual, but when it worked it really worked. Started birdie, bogey, then 4 pars in a row. Poor drove on 7 put me OB, but managed to get in for a 7 after a good 2ns drive. 8-11 were fine as well, with a nice up and down after a poor tee shot on 11. Bogey on 12 which I'll always take (par 5's are killing me atm). 13 I played it safe with a 7i off the tee, and of course hooked that right into the gorse. Provisional was fine, then hooked another 7i into the gorse. Found it, chipped out, but ended with an 8. Hit my tee shot long on 14, but a nice chip gave me a tap in par. OB right with my drive in 15 resulted in a double, which was really frustrating. But finished par, bogey and bogey so I was relatively happy. Finished with 85 stokes / 40 points.

My short game is good at the moment, my long wedges are slowly improving, and my driving is my driving 😂 Enjoyed the 18 though, even with the rain, nice to get out.

26 points today for 15 holes, not bad off 7 for the day I guess. Horrid start, 4 worse after 2 so not too bad keeping it at that for rest of the round I guess. Getting a 15 footer for birdie is always nice, especially straight after a tap in par

Got my first round at my home course on Friday (albeit only 12 holes open). Didn;t realise there was a comp on with only 12 holes open, should've entered 😂

Played my best so far there, 21 points on the front 9 (+8 gross), 6 points on the back 3 (+3 gross). Just kept the ball in play, driver was working well, putting was very consistent (2 putted every hole) and a lot of them were very close. When I missed, it was always a tap in for the second one so I'll take that. Bit of work, few of them break a bit better and that could bring the scoring down further.

Starting the year quite positive, good round in Portmarnock with the society, now this one. Good feeling right now, lets see if that lasts 😋

First time picking up a club in 6 months on Sunday was on the 1st tee. Thankfully it was a fourball betterball and my partner was able to pick up the slack. My stats didn't make pretty reading but I know where I need to improve.

Playing off 20, scored 42 points for 16 holes a couple of weeks back. Feeling i peaked too soon in the season :) as i couldn't hit the ball out of my way last Sunday. Got cut 2 shots which is fair enough
