Agree with that, but also, a lot of people have to be somewhere for 2 pm. They just don't seem to register that time has to be included for getting there, or even those mysterious 10 minutes that disappear between picking up the car keys and leaving the house, and getting into the car.

    Arnotts website..”free delivery over €150“….. 💀

Ohhh gee thanks, have €100 voucher I was gifted and was thinking about a new pair of Raybans..€137 but with standard delivery that’s an additional €5.95 so be €142.95…. probably weighs about 0.3 kilograms with the case and packaging and I’m in Dublin… so I’m further being hit for €6 on a €137 euro purchase ! For a tiny item weighing nothing, taking up no space that An Post deliver, if it was DHL/UPS or other courier etc… you’d understand a surcharge but fûck that.

Jessie buckley getting heat because she said she didn't like cats and had to clarify her comments so her fans with cats wouldn't be offended 😂😂

A friend just let me know he's visting later from Galway. I need to go to the shop to pick up some food and beers but I have to wait until half 12 to buy cans of beer because of our ridiculous licensing laws.

Watching the 2020 CBS adaptation of The Stand. It was going so well til we got to Vegas, where they decided not just to chuck the source material in the bin, but actively invert it. Tried to soldier on but Ezra Miller has just entered the chat as the Trashcan Man and I just can't be dealing.

Also, people who cut pizza into six slices rather than eight. They just want to watch the world burn.

That's like the one third pounder is smaller than a quarter pounder burgers.

The throaty whingy voice that so many young American women seem to have now, really gives me ire to hear it

Depends on the size of the pizza. Smaller one then six is fine large one prefer eight.

TA: Cutting up a pizza that isn't round :-(

Wake me up when it's all over.

Went shopping with my sister yesterday, a notoriously poor timekeeper. Had an appointment in Dublin at 10am. Left Belfast at 7.30 on time, so far so good. Half an hour out the road she realises that the electric car hadn't charged properly overnight and therefore wouldn't make it to Dublin so we had to stop to recharge it, then she hadn't counted on bad traffic in Dublin so that made us even later. Ended up 30 minutes late for the appointment. Sometimes it's not selfishness, it's just carelessness.

All the time keeping posts have reminded me of Friday night. Planned to meet a friend at 7.50pm at the venue for a show we were seeing at 8pm. I had my time planned out, got ready, had some time to spare and this is when I entered what I call the danger zone where I start doing one or two little things before I leave because I am 'early' then I get distracted and TA I ended up leaving barely on time, rushing to park and to meet friend. I was a couple of minutes late and annoyed with myself.

Technically ? It's trivial , but the fcukers iñ the hospital sent a porter down to recapture me after I had just reached the front door . I can't take the dry air in here . I'm both drinking water and snorting g water up my nose because the air is so dry and its giving me a headache . They won't give me paracetamol as I'm on that anyway and according to the nurses there's no ibuprofen in a hospital ?

See if they can give you an inhaler mask, you can then stuff the smaller hole with a damp gauze or a damp cottonball. If you keep that over your mouth (DON'T make a seal, let some air pass through the sides) and breathe through it, it'll help with your dry airways. Wet the gauze/cottoball as needed. Low tech but very effective.

I'm filling my cupped hand with water and snorting it .

That does work, but it's only temporary. The mask gives you continue moisture and stops you from having to get out of bed so frequently.

I'll pm you separately, CJ. Hospital is hell enough without the additional discomfort.

Well yes, that's what you do - the spitting anyway. Don't all the footballers and swimmers and so on spit at every opportunity? Its cool and fit and manly, and if you are smoking then there is an even greater need to do it.

TA…people who write a post then don't bother to read through it before posting. Auto-carrot can be a nuisance, but just glance through the post - especially when its only a couple of sentences - and change the obviously incorrect stuff.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 80,816 Mod ✭✭✭✭New Home

I do that, but 9 times out of 10 I spot the typos only after I've pressed "Post comment". Then it takes me 4 edits on average to tidy up the post. 😔

When using the mobile site if i type the first few letters of a word and then use autofill it adds the letters and word i.e. ususally. It's annoying if sending a quick reply as it ends up with multi edits.

I asked my AI for a natural headache remedy( between all the reno's in the area, being hot boxed every night and ppl now cutting grass) Ive been gobbling painkillers. It gave me the breathing rem!!!!!!!!!!! and then the usual stuff that doesn't work in such a dirty environment.

Later on I asked it for something related but not about it and it told me something something bc I'm stressed with all the above. This got my refused pain meds as a kid as "I was attention seeking/couldn't be in that much pain" spidies up!

I went online to find out how to stop it from referring to old conversations, as it gave me the creeps, and how to delete them and set things so they can’t be referred to again.

Most of my tec is dying and I'm just nursing it along till it kicks out altogether, so in the two hours it took to do this, the internet went down 4 times( as it usually does around lunchtime) and i had to plug in both the phone and laptop twice! each time losing the info I was following! 🙄🙄🙄😡😡😡
