You have to apply on or after the 1st Nov for the new year. It costs €1000.

Just spoke to Tesla to swap my assigned car to one of these inventory Model 3's but turns out my current assigned car is on the same boat as the inventory car.

Advisor said cars are expected in Ireland next week and I should get my car by mid March at the latest.

I am glad it costs 1k so I wont be tempted to apply in the future..😁

Just got my reg number 5 mins ago from Tesla, an easy one for me to remember, the digits being my favourite commercial aircraft 👍️

Slightly off topic, but I’ve always maintained that the government would make a fortune if the cost of this was something reasonable like €200.

Apologies for multiple posts. Can't delete them. What colour , spec e.g. lr etc did you order

I ordered the standard model. Zero options selected, not that there were many to choose from!

It used to be €200. And they flew off the shelves. Then they thought they could cash in and increased it. So the dealers and buyers stopped buying them.

How to figure out how much repair has been done on a "Repaired Certified Pre-Owned" Tesla? For e.g. https://www.tesla.com/en_IE/my/order/XP7YHCER4SB721042?postal=D02&coord=53.3379,-6.2591&region=IE&titleStatus=used&redirect=no#overview

    They won't tell you.

The line will be that the car is now fully repaired and as good as new once more.

If it’s repaired correctly and not recorded on insurance it doesn’t matter. That’s not the issue with the car, it’s the older model and doesn’t attract the €3500 trade in bonus, it’s also a 25 car, you’d be best but a new 26 one for not much more or wait for the next round of demos to be refreshed with 26 plates.

in reality there’s almost zero demand for it. It used to be €200 and almost no one used it - they made it €1000 during the financial crash. they reserve the numbers below 200 in each county for selling, but you can pick any number you want in reality.

However, if you wanted e.g 5555, you need for the other 5554 cars to be registered in your county first, before yours is allocated.

Youre paying for a number that is personal to you, but it transfers with the car so the next buyer also needs to like it too.

I knew someone years ago who paid for “318” for their nice new entry level bmw - and had to discount the car when selling it because the new buyers weren’t quite as keen to broadcast that they had the cheapest 3 series money could buy 😀

Must be a bit gullible! They should have told the buyer to take a hike, there would be plenty other fish in the sea who wouldn’t give the plate number a second thought.

Went for first NCT (model 3 SR+ RWD) . They were going to fail because the VIn was not on the chassis.

Had to go out with a torch and show them the flap under the driver's seat. Thank goodness for Boards and YouTube tutorials.

When roughly will the next boat of M3 be shipping and arriving in Ireland. On their website they have changed it from apr-may to may -jun. Thanks

So are they straight from the boat loaded onto car transportors and brought to Tesla pick up point? I got a date from ayvens of early march for my M3 rwd lr.. have to admit I'm looking forward to getting the new car.

I test drove the exact spec I'm getting and I couldn't get over the power compared to the Skoda enyaq 85 I'm currently driving. I can only imagine how fast the performance is

It can take a week or more for Tesla to register the car and get all the paper work in order. I was around 10 days of I remember right.

Did you collect Dublin or Cork. They told me Transport from Dublin Docks to Cork can take up to 5 days from cars booked with haulier. Usually takes less, but that's the contract max time.

They seem now to be able to do all the rest very quickly once car arrives into Tesla Dublin or Cork and customs cleared.

My MY arrived on Tues into Dublin Docks iirc, was available the following Monday for collection at Baldonnel. Waited until Fri to collect due to work commitments.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 746 ✭✭✭Paul MCM

I collected in Dublin, now my delivery was last year so they might be quicker and they had a delay in registering the cars.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,885 ✭✭✭eagerv

Last week was quick because not that many cars going out daily. I think around 20 last friday. Next week on will be probably hectic after all the new shipments arriving, may take a little longer.

I assume Tesla's offered price on your trade-in is take it or leave it? To me it was priceless!😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭rx8

That would get some looks alright... I'd have to get flame decals to put on the wheel arches and a smoke machine too maybe..👹👹🔥🔥

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,502 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

    Yes, non-negotiable.

But throw it in again for trade in valuation a week later, will likely be a different figure again.
