It's almost like the great voting public are laughing themselves silly at Dancing with the Staff

Ehh, the 'public vote part' where the public pay to vote is what pays for the show and enables RTE to have it's own (Ireland) version instead of just re-broadcasting other iterations.

I didn't say you did. I'm just pointing to the financial necessity of the mechanism by which the voters contribute. In simple terms, the more people vote, the more cash is generated. The more predictable the 'competition' becomes, the fewer the tv audience & the fewer people inclined to vote & the smaller the revenue. It's not a dancing competition, it's exactly like every other reality tv programme, it's a popularity contest. I try to enjoy it for what it is, not for what it should be.
