Ioane hasn’t really featured and I struggle to see the obsessive ask for new players from abroad to come into the fore. Let the next generation get game time to prove themselves.

Leinster boys look a bit too smiley for having just lost a game they could and should have won.

Absolutely everyone requires a Graham Henry style boot in the arse.

    Really have to state.…

The leinster coaching structure is abysmal

Bad night at the office. Long way to go. It was very much an inexperienced team except for the galacticos who did nothing. Really missed Harry.

When we use him (ioane) as a kick chaser he'll always look abject.

The coaches have zero idea of how to get the best out of him, because they don't play a system that requires speed, strike plays or creativity from 13

That performance will take some explaining. Dear me it was poor.

    Spot on.

Completely pointless signing and a waste of money if that’s how Leinster use him. Whatever about tonight due to the conditions but it has been that way all season.

Hard to see many calls for henshaw featuring in the Irish squad after tonight.

This fixture during the 6N has always been tricky for Leinster, you can’t expect and entire team to come in and play with much continuity.

Hopefully Byrne and McKee are not bad injuries they deserve more game time

Could really do with Lions and Ospreys winning tomorrow and doing us a favour. Can’t see what will be a similar 23 getting anything in Glasgow next month.

Spicer, what a big disappointment, too heavy, too slow, and zero aggression. He ain't no will Skelton or a big Dev Toner lm afraid.

I don't think anyone looked good, but he was anonymous. What's his strength? It isn't moving quickly, he seemed to jog slowly around the pitch. It isn't carrying, he carried poorly and got knocked backwards at one point. His side of the scrum went backwards.

Apart from being huge, I'm not sure what he actually does. This game was a bad sample so I hope he gets more chances to show his value. But that was a terrible start.

Has the Leinster bubble popped? Coaching setup is a clear problem.

Really have to seriously question Cullen's decision to bring Goodman and Blyendaal to leinster while letting a talent like mcNamara leave to blossom at Bordeaux….abject.

You're assuming Noel Mc wants a gig in Ireland or does he prefer to live in the South of France

A Lancaster team with the same players would have run away with that game. And would be entertaining. Taking off the front row with a few minutes to go to half time reeks of South African arrogance.

Are you the same guys who wanted to fire Andy Farrell before the England game ? Our thirds lost away with kids playing in the pack. Huge arrogance to expect to win every game.

We desperately need a coach with an attacking mindset to come in. If McNammara can't be tempted home, I'd love for a NZ or Australian coach to take over. SA's mindset for rugby just does not suit at all.

well, a similar quality Lancaster team did lose that game in 2022.
But yes they were entertaining and lost 29-27.

A friend was at the game and the conditions in the first half were almost unplayable so judging Spicer on that makes no sense give the boy time and judge when he has an environment to showcase his talent & immense physical frame

Maybe..…loss to Irish rugby if so

those conditions are made for a lock that size, but he’s very young and Cardiff are a well coached side. They almost beat Munster in Thomond and beat (albeit a 2nd string) Ulster side in Europe in the last minute

One moment that grated on me… when we finally got a period of possession and some nice attacking plays going, it all came undone with a no-look Snyman offload to absolutely no-one.

Andrew Osborne was a bright spark when he came on.

I have erased all other memories.

Connacht are at home to a Glasgow side missing all their 1st players so you will get some bit of an answer on that one later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,242 ✭✭✭Bogwoppit

That offload from Snyman, incredibly frustrating just when we were looking on top. Completely stopped our momentum.

It can have its perks….at times

    Happy Birthday Josh!

If I could give him a present it would be a one way ticket back to SA

    for Nienaber

I see James Lowe has had surgery.

    Any word on recovery time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,177 ✭✭✭✭Heroditas

Good God, what a disastrous list of injuries this season. At least we have Jimmy and Tommy to play on the wing. JJ went off injured last night and now Lowe out.

We should be seeing Keenan back soon?

Glad to see Culhane back as well.

Bringing in Barrett on a short term deal made sense as we had a need for a player like that in that position, a creative player in a playmaking role. That's not the case with Ioane as he's a step further out and can't be as influential. It really doesn't make sense why we signed him.

I imagine at least part of it is trying to keep the pathway open so that we potentially keep getting an All Black every year…
